*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

you can find mod and choose which weapon you want to be silence, lots of mods in DX
also, you can kill Anna Navarre in 747 Boeing mission, inside plane and save Paul Denton in that hotel room, when he asking you to leave him alone vs MJ12 ;)

Don't have this pre-ordered, tho definitely picking up a copy the first day. Eh, somewhat mixed feelings, but despite its flaws I think overall it'll be a damn-good game. Just completed another go of the original and now I'm ready to see what's up :)

AFAIK, DX:HR is only 3rd person when taking cover, and performing some kills - and I think the kills are just the animations, i.e. the player's not in control at the time.

I prefer not to have an out of body experience in game. Only flaw I can see going by the trailers

I've been getting my ninja on with SC:Chaos Theory lately, mainly in anticipation of this one as I'm quite rusty game-wise. I've been 3rd-partied to death with it, a few views in HR won't bother me too much (I hope) :D

Tempted to get the augmented edition for £30 with a load of Gamestation points I have.

But then I have a huge backlog of games, and could just get the normal version in a few months on the cheap.
Would I really miss an artbook and soundtrack/making of DVD?

I don't remember that

I maintain that most of the takedowns look absolutely ridiculous and should be replaced with takedowns that kill someone in an effective way not a flashy 'oh em gee that was so cooool' sorta way...

it has loads of 3rd person moments in it.

I'll admit to not using 3rd person anywhere near as much as 1st person though.

Yeah because mass effect was really crap wasn't it...

I don't see what the fuss is about going third person whilst in cover or going up and down ladders? Its been done in numerous first person games for years!

I think it ruins the mood. I don't want to be reminded its a game. I want complete immersion.

Yeah, it's only third person for the cover (which is actually sensible), using ladders and the kill animations when you have no control.

Just played through the entire leak today, I cannot wait for the full game. Really enjoyed being able to do a mix of stealth and assault, keeping the game fresh. But you could easily do full stealth one time, and full assault another, as stealth-ing you see a lot more to the game world the just the assault tactic.

Nope, when I hide behind some boxes or a wall or a barrel or some sandbags. I want to feel that its me hiding. Not some action man play figure :p

I was doing that when I was 8 with action man :p

I went for the Steam version for the TF2 items. Sad I know, but they look cool ;) And I semi know the guy who did the TF2 model of the Deus Specs.

The extra items would be nice. If I ever feel like it, I might pick up a Collector's Edition or Augmented Edition if I ever find one.
