*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Nope, when I hide behind some boxes or a wall or a barrel or some sandbags. I want to feel that its me hiding. Not some action man play figure :p

I was doing that when I was 8 with action man :p

Well true, it can be nice to stay in first person.

But it's nice to see what the bad guys can see when you're under cover. Granted, not very realistic, but it doesn't feel broken.

You played the leak at all easyrider, it's not that bad having 3rd person cover.

Does anyone know what if I wait and buy after released?

Will I be unable to get special guns+mission?

Will price go up?

I dont know whether to preorder or wait for reviews.

but if I wait for reviews maybe I cant get special editions?

Tempted to get the augmented edition for £30 with a load of Gamestation points I have.

But then I have a huge backlog of games, and could just get the normal version in a few months on the cheap.
Would I really miss an artbook and soundtrack/making of DVD?

If you wait til after release to buy will you miss out on the ''tong mission'' etc...

you need 3rd person in cover for the stealth to work

otherwise you have to do what they did in deus ex 1 and have the enemies as blind as bats after being maced.

This to be honest. Stealth doesn't work well from the first person view imo.

3rd person games suck

Yeah, because Arkham Asylum, every one of the third person GTA games, Max Payne, Mass Effect, etc etc all suck.

Wait a second....

Honestly I wouldn't say they are that much more 'aware' in this than they are in Deus Ex. With the Field of View aug you can see just how blind the enemies are and it probably isn't much different to what it was in Deus Ex, the only major difference being they aren't quite so alert at people leaning around a corner, but then in Deus Ex they don't need to be.

The 3rd person cover works really well tbh, you can see your surroundings and asses the situation your trying to get past. Without it you would spend allot of time looking at wall textures.. Most of the time your in first person and if you play without stealth then you would use cover allot less..

I think all of these goodies are supposed to be an incentive to pre-order.. if you dont pre order then no goodies.. Personally i have gone for the cheapest regular version i could fine (£23) as i dont care for artwork and will watch the making of on youtube :D

I think Amazon got there price wrong for the PC Aug edition? they were selling it for 25 quid which was less than they were selling the limited edition? I have it preordered can they raise the price and charge me extra or if you have pre ordered at that price do they have to follow through now?

Although they technically don't have to, they'll honour that price. You certainly won't be charged more. :)

Think they can charge you the correct price, many years ago I ordered a DVD box set which they prices at £9.99 instead of £69.99 they cancelled my order and said I would have to re order it at the correct price.

People are definitely hoping for the second coming which is always going to let people down.

I expect HR to be a very good game, but if your hoping for a Deus Ex that is identical to the first except pretty then i doubt you will be happy with this. The genre and the industry has moved on greatly since the original game, i don't think remaking that game will ever be possible in today's industry.

Personally i expect this one to be a bit more shooty than the first, maybe not quite as deep with as many ways to complete objectives but still a great game
