I've had a few PS/2 problems on the 510-3 BIOS and so have a few other people over at DFI street. Seems quite scarce though. Be prepared to redo all your clocks though.

414-3: stable @ 11x250mhz 10h prime, unstable @ 10x275mhz 8mins prime
510-3: stable @ 10x275mhz 10h prime, unstable @ 11x250mhz 16mins prime.

Go figure

yeah BIOS really make such a difference on this mobo.i would like to see one that allows memtest stable setting on memory to be able to be used in windows as this is currently not the case. well not for me with my VX anyway. I can get them to 264MHz 1.5-2-2 in memtest looping test 8 for 24 hours and also 24 hours running all tests(yes i ran them for 48 hours just to be sure) then in windows they can not be stable(either S&M or MemTest 3.2) above 260MHz which makes no sense at all, regardless of raising Vdimm.
damned annoting, thats why im wondering if the hellfire BIOS is any better, willng to try anything to get that extra 44MHz(11x4) on the cpu cos want to run 1:1 naturally.
means i have to run 2860MHz when the cpu is stable at 2.9GHz. :(

Smids, have you got a bios editor for you X800xt, or can you suggest one?

you mentioned before playing around with the tras on yours. you upped the voltage as well?

No BIOS editor. Just ATiTool version 0.24 beta 10. It has the RAM table listed where you can adjust it. Be careful though, don't want you to bork your card. I left TRAS as it was, I change the TRP from 5 to 6. It gave me an extra 30mhz on the memory, but I changed it back as I upgraded the driver in between (5.4 to 5.5) meaning I couldn't compare 3dmarks for it. I will try again soon though. I didn't adjust the voltage on it - I don't want to do any voltmods, I don't trust myself though you can get some VERY good results by upping Vgpu.

OK, my DFI Ultra build will get started this weekend sometime..I'm currently getting the s/ware together that I might need. So far I have...

Realtek 386.exe audio drivers
Omega 2625a (x800xt driver)
Nfref639 chipset drivers
Marvel 721 lan drivers

board version is AA0

I'll run the shipping bios while I get it set up, unless of course you guys recommend different. I won't overclock it straight away, want to get it all set up and stable first so as long as the shipping bios will run my mem (corsair XMS) and CPU (3700SD) that'll do me for now.

Is the audio any good or am I better off sticking to my fortissimo 7.1 card? Are there any other drivers I'm missing?

Cheers. :)

First, I'd give you the warning of running TCCD on the shipping BIOS - it won't work well at all. I couldn't boot, load windows or anything on the shipping BIOS even with just one stick of TCCD. Flash immediately - especially as you have a SD. 414 is the first to have support for the SD with apparently the 414-3 the best BIOS of that revision. The 510's have better support for the SD, Venice and X-2.

Personally I'd download all the drivers from the DFI webpage and use all official drivers initially but that's my personal preference. As long as you have the Chipset drivers and the video drivers, you don't need to worry about anything else as that can be sorted easily over the course of the weekend. I had a few problems getting the marvell drivers to install initially, no idea why either. Oh well - I think I had to use the DFI CD drivers as the web one didn't work for some reason.

Well my mem is not TCCD, it's Corsair TwinX Xms3200pro (with the twinkly leds on top) rev 1.1 or 1.2 I think, which, I'm given to understand, is most likely CH5 chips. GSkill comes later ;)

I'll get a copy of the 510 bios just as a precaution though :)

I had cold boot issues with my KHX3500 @ 3.4v wouldn't boot with two sticks in, but would boot with one, then i could switch off and replace other one then it would boot. That lasted a few days then one stick is dead and pc won't boot at all with that stick in.

just remember to read the first page of this thread for raid tips etc depending on what you're gonna run in this system.
the SD should be doing 2.8GHz no probs. ;)

anyone getting cold boot issues with high vdimm?

mine keeps reseting to 2.6 then doesn't find the ram, very annoying, and dangerous from what i've read...

There are issues with using the 5V Jumper which DFI have admitted.

You are better off using the jumper trick and voltmodding your 3.3v rail if you want more than about 3.2v. Details over @ DFI Street.

yup it works a charm and the power mosfets sit at 29C.nice.good old ocz powerstream 520W.i run the 3.3V rail at 3.62V which supplies the DIMMs with 3.52V, prefect for the vx to do 265MHz in memtest though only stable at 260 in windows.hoping a bios will eventually allow memtest stable clocks to translate to windows stable clocks.

hey, i wonder if any of you can help me;

im trying to find the max limit on my Venice 3200 chip
ive got up to 2.75ghz, but theres no setting in the bios to go to 1.6Volts on the CPU, it stops at 1.55Volts

im using the official 310 from the DFI website

do the newer "beta" bioses allow you to make the Volts higher on the CPU, or is this a motherboard jumper setting?

thanks for any help!

You have to use the setting underneath the CPU Voltage, it is in % so 1.5+110% is 1.65V.

Dont go above that on air IMO.

Concorde

Edit: I have a problem too, its stable at 2.9ghz but at random intervals it locks for a few seconds in games and once locked totally in windows.

Im at 286x10 atm
Voltages:
CPU: 1.525V
LDT: 1.3V
Chipset: 1.5V
Memory: 2.9+0.03V

Sucks, as Folding at Home did 4 Work Units, about 3 days worth without an error, its the best stability tester ever imo.

thanks, but whilst fiddling about, i ended up having to clear the cmos, and now my memory has gone to 1T, whereas before it was on 2T, and i cant find the setting in the BIOS to change it to 2T.. sorry for being a noob
