Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

So you guys reckon I should go for the 761? But the 862 is definately good as it went to 2.7 @ 1.55v with the stock cooler, what should i do!?

Keep your 3000 and save ** money for a venice core 3200 :)

Your board should be replaced by point of purchased if its DOA.

And an additional point, you should have exactly the same board sent back out.

I hope eventualy DFI will do what most of the Hardware manufacturers do and at least appoint an agent thats UK based to handle RMA's.

They have, it's in Bournmouth, they just handle the UK RMA's back to Germany.

Incidently, when you agree to purchase the board you agree to the terms and conditions of the returns procedure.

That maybe true, but you are still covered by UK law, 28days is return to base.

Nothing that any UK based E-tailer can print on their site will change that. Consumer rights over rule any terms & conditions that could be deemed unfair or directly contravene them.

As for bournmouth that hadle shipping back to germany, that kinda whack realy as DFI need to RMA'd to Holland so whats going on with DFI !
The agent should carry some boards to save time & money, a little bit like how monitor manufacturers use 3rd party agents to handle on site warranty (although I'm not sugesting they do onsite)

Slot 2 and 4 didn't work for my ram, either did 2 and 3.

When i put the 256mb module in i reset cmos, but it just stayed on 3 lights on the motherboard LED.

I'm using bios 310.

Should i do 1 and 3 ?

Someone must have a clue on how to use a 512mb module and 256mb module, and what slots to use for each module lol.

Modules have to be matched size for DC , you can use the top 2 slots ( closest to PSU) 1 orange and 1 yellow

Andy;
CPC is for single or Dual, it could be your memory not like 1T setting, it does give a performance boost but if you system is'nt stable with it enabled, run 2T until you can get a matched Dimm.

SpuMaster;

Mine is around that too, my chipset fan is cobstantly cycling as its set to 50c high speed.
Although it dont seem to matter as I can still hit >400HTT with 1.7v

if anyone wants a SPAW chip drop me a mail some guy is selling em

I don't think the premium is now worth it, Venice just around corner.

Sadly its been delivered on a 1wheeled cart pulled by a horse with 3 legs :(

Ricco cheers for the answer.

Would have thought 1T would be ok, it's Corsair XMS3200XLPT TCCD which is good ram :S

Both ram modules have been memtested for hours, all fine etc...

Any ideas ? As i thought ram like mine being good would accept 1T no problems :S

Only other things i've changed in the DRAM config is the timings from 2-3-2-5 (auto) to 2-2-2-5 and the ram speed from auto to 200 as it was picking up as ddr 333 :S

Am running bios 310.

Its probably just down to the fact they are unmatched.

You will probably be better off now just running SC with the 1 stick of 512 and 1T and dump the low mhz(FSB/HTT) for memory with tight timings and get it to about 275 1T @ 2.5,4,3,7 or there abouts.

Mercyless,

In a word no...

However there has been a development - I went out and bought a new board but also took home a pci graphics card, guess what using the pci graphics card I can get to bios but when it tries to boot to windows it just keeps resetting itself!

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Regards,

Matt

Boot block has (BIOS) has provision for display with PCI graphics, I wounder if some of your BIOS is corrupted.

Try a BIOS update on the board with the floppy disk method.

linky to your post imo :P

Im a BH hound with nf4 ;)

Did have the COrsair XLPT at 300, but that was 2T on Neo2 NF3 board.

Anyway, silly question but what did you set your HTT multiplier too when you tried for 300mhz?

2.5,4,4,7 2T@ 2.8v
HHT multiplier to 3x
CPU multiplier to 7x

try that.

Tried it matey.

I've only got one stick anyway.

I tried 300x7 but no luck, started booting but then bsod and it had a nice amount of volts going through it anyway.

I'm not running 260x10 at 1.65v at 2.5-3-3-7 - Is there any timings i can do tighter than that.

I tried 2-4-4-8 with no luck, or is 2.5-3-3-7 the tighest im gonna get at 260fsb ?

Does sound like your CPU then m8y.

I had this, but only when running high OC's. I junked it and picked up a cheap 5.1live - problem (not quite) solved.

You could try:

setting PCie- to 101mhz
keep HTT under 1000
Try to re-seat the sound plug

Dissable in BIOS, do your clean install and then once you got the Nvidia chipset drivers in, then enable in bios & installthe realtek driver.

I have just ordered a ultra-d from o/c ,surely if they do send me a rev A00 then they have to accept it back as DFI states that ALL revA00 should be returned to manufacture.

is there anyway to cancel an order with o/c untill i see what rev board they are going to send me ?

Distance selling act, once it arives.

Borrowed some friends AData DDR400 last weekend and it worked fine on my rev A.02 SLi-D. My GSkill LE has just arrived, popped on stick into the top orange slot and worked fine. Now, after reboot, it refuses to work. I've cleared the CMOS and it says:

Verifying DMI Pool Data...
Error loading Operating system

After I switch back to the normal pins as opposed to the ones used to clear CMOS, I turn on and nothing comes up on the monitor. I'm at a loss on what to do.

Check that all your memory timings are set to Auto.

Ricco,

Can you either start another thread on the DFI SLI-DR (or post on the first page of this one) and its brothers but this time simply show all the "Genie" parts of the bios to say, overclock TCCD ram to 290+ ?

I think it could be a great tweaking guide and help peopl etrawl through all those mem and voltage settings :)

Maybe thats not a thread for me to start, since I don't use TCCD with the NF4, but rather BH.
I can help with BH memory settings :), so would contribute to the thread.

The problem as I see it is no one uses the search very often, and threads do'nt get stickied that are of specific board setups.
Its hard to keep what I consider relevant information updated as tons of duplicated or unfounded that just would maybe confuse the issue.
It might be worth a link in first post to a specific setup thread(and cross linked back), that way it will always be easy to find the threads that are connected.

Going to have a quick go at upping it a bit more :D

All good :)
