Thank's ricco, gaz123, thank,s for your help, also made me feel a bit better, am starting with right gear. I've a lot to learn with all the memory timmings an an voltage stuff, will enjoy the proccess.

Well if you do learn all the memory timings that the DFI has, let the rest of us know will you - there is absolutely crap-loads :D

I ordered some recently to go with the DFI board.

Doesn't quite do what it is advertised to do at 2.5/3/3/7 timings, but goes above 300Mhz stable at 2.5/4/3/7, so that's not too bad really.

13: Top PCIe slot is slightly faster (couple of hundred 3D points) then the lower one.

the "Top" one being the pci-e slot closest to the cpu?
i got 36degrees for CPU temp on first startup with 3500+,AC freezer 64 in an sli-dr with arctic silver V
(PWM was 36 degrees, and chipset was 42 degrees)
need to install some more case fans next, this was running with the side off, and intake 12cm fan in the front, fan on top and exhast 12cm fan in the back of the case in my coolermaster stacker :)
sound about right?

the annoyance here is the fan on my XFX 6800GT is pretty damn loud :/
chipset fan next loudest, i probably won't bother, but anyone found a decent replacement for the DFI chipset fan? :)

Yep - the top slot is the one closest to the CPU.

BTW 36 on PWM and 42 on the chipset is not bad at all. I get horrible temps on the PWM - up to 70C under load, even with the side off. If I point an 80mm fan directly at it and run a tough benchmark, it stays at ~40C, so I guess I need to fit a fan right in there somehow...

WELL I JUST USED nvida tune up app on my dfi with gkill and now my computer will not boot i have to clear the cmos when i get home and hope it boots.

now i get 3 leds on the mobo

lol i have the dfi ultra-d winne 3000+ cpu, my cpu temps are 29-36*c with an artic cooler and as5. i wouldnt mind the chipset being a little cooler... can you remove the fan/mini heatsink without removing the motherboard from the motherboard tray? also my xfx 6600Gt seems to be by far the hottest running up to 65*c

Gaz, you will need to clear cmos fully as it seems to chjange settings in cmos & bios, so when you reboot it still tries to load the bad settings.

Had a similar problem myself.
