Ta surge. I might have overlooked this somewhere but wheres the best place to check the bios version if I had to clear CMOS again (currently using 3.10 btw).

Its at the bottom left hand side of the 1st BIOS screen (assuming you have disabled that wretched DFI fullscreen logo, otherwise you'll miss it ;) ). Its in the form of the date 3/10 I believe (maybe 10/3?)

I'm having a problem with overclocking if I up the fsb to even 220 it won't boot up if it's past 240 and it's a battery out job, couple of questions, is sp2 OK with this and is this 25/01/2005 bios Ok?
I've looked through and tried most of the screenies that's been posted re the genie, I must be missing something somewhere.
If I set the ram to 100 fsb and the ldt to any 1-5 and put the fsb up to 220 and no boot, all other settings at auto, the ram is OCZ TCCD rev 2 has been running fine in a neo2 @280fsb. tried various voltages for ram cpu chipset etc make no difference, there must be something simple I'm missing I've copied these:

Just crashed battery out job, loosened the timings same result, is there a timing that won't work on auto? Also the pcie freqency is it locked? tried 100 and 101.
Gonna have a drink and summot to eat then have another go :)

BIOS 2.18 or 3.10 is rather better. Lots of people had problems with 1.25. What CPU are you using? tref will probably be different if its not a Clawhammer. In which case try auto. But definitely update the BIOS. Link to Bioses in DFI woes thread. PCI-e IS locked

Hi looks like something gone wrong with bios, downloaded n4d310 from the link you provided
10/03/2005 Final SLI-DR/Ultra-D/SLI-D N4D310

All looked OK until I rebooted and it performs memtest v1.51 instead of booting up this is after the lan party logo.

Any idea's ?

memtest is on by default you need to disable it in bios ;)

(its included in a few of the bios's)

Go into the Genie bios page and turn off memtest. It defaults to running memtest on a fresh bios flash, turn it off and it'll boot fine.

Edit - too slow :)

Cheers thanks and now it's going great striaght in at 240, then up to 275 and it's OK, real pleased with it, I thought I was missing something been al day messing trying diferent things, that 25/01/2005 bios is not very good at all, does everyone have the same problems ?

Going to have a quick go at upping it a bit more :D

Yes thanks it's sitting nicely at 275 at the moment strange that the bios was so bad, is it the same for everyone?

Also what the difference with the N4D310 and the N4D310P?

Cheers ;)

310P is a "performance" bios with tighter timings. Not tried it. Yes the 1/25 Bios is pretty ****

Wow something runs a lot hotter than my old set up, I had a 6800 GT AGP and MSI Neo2 which I watercooled the northbridge and graphics card as I have on this, it used to run all day before, it's just rebooted a couple of times and the water pipes are quite warm, I only use a reserator so it may be asking a bit much with this setup.
Although the room temp is 27 so that might not help.

Are those arctic cooling fans quiet? I'm a quiet freak really and the northbrige fan was far too noisey what do other people do?

Cheers.
