Update to first post.

Thanks to dave he has supplied a working MBM ini files so I have hosted it.

Am I being really dumb?!! What do you to save the Ini file, as right clicking and saving doesn't work, and you can't "save as" from within the file either?

Sorry to be thick :)

Thanks Surge didn't expect you to post that quick blimy.
Lovely job an all much better than the Zalman for that job, I'll see if I can get a local firm to knock me one up :)

I had trouble installing windows, so i did the trick of whipping out the battery and manged to get Xp installed. It made it to the desktop once and then restarted, now it gets to the Xp loading screen and restarts. Anyone got any clue on how to sort this out?

Ham would help if you can give system specs, and BIOS version.

Sounds like memory could be out of spec.

althon 64 3200+ winchester
DFI Lanparty nf4 ultra d
ATI x800xl
2x512 geil value DDR 400

I tired running on 1 stick of ram and the problem continued, so i switched to the other stick and now it gets to windows everytime but when i try to install the gfx drivers or the motherboard drives the install programs crash and the system tray wont come up. explore crashes to. Looks like duff memory but i'd like to make sure.

it the bios version that comes with the motherboard not sure what number that is

Well you done very well to get as far as you have IMHO :)

Firsup check out the first post and grab youself 310 BIOS. Use the link to DFI site and get instructions of how to do it from a floppy drive.

This is a MUST, and will all work towards fixing BIOS issues.

ah.... lack of floppy might be an issue can you do by cd at all? the comp i'm posting this on doesnt have a floppy ethier :(

acquired a floppy of a m8 i'll give the bios update a go and see how that goes. Seems to be running better now with just the one stick, thinking i just got the one duff stick, gutted. Or would the bios affect have 2 sticks on the go?

Bois would have stopped the 2 sticks from working.

You have to put 1 stick in, then flash to 310 bios, then you can use 2 sticks :D

Confusing eh :D

Im looking to buy one of these boards in the next few days. I was reading over at DFI-Street that the a00 boards dont have any hardware differences to the a01 and a02 boards, just bios (read this thread here http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5074&highlight=a00) . From what you guys are saying, the a00 needs a hardware mod to fix it?

Im worried about placing an order for a board in case i get a a00 revision. Im also concerned that OCUK will not accept faulty boards back and you have to RMA them to DFI in Holland!!

whats correct and what isnt? anyone got an a00 that works fine after flashing?

Very few A00 boards are in the retail channel, especially now, DFI have said they want all A00 boards back though, so there must be something iffy about them.

You should be fine ordering now.
