Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

Must be the drivers with the ATI card then....

Hopefully the 6600gt should be back soon - does anybody know if you rma something with overclockers they advise you when they send replacement out?

ive been looking for the temperatures that the mobo runs at, but the only ones that i can see are o/ced. i was wondering if these are ok, because of the difference between the temperatures.

CPU 30C
PWMIC 40C
NF4 45C

are these ok or are they too hot?

they were higher but i have now taken the cover off my pc and they cooled down to this.
they were at:

CPU 40C
PWMIC 52C
NF4 51C

how can i try and lower my chipset temps, im gonna get another couple of fans but before i get them, is there any way i can lower it?

/edit and what sort of temps should i be getting idle and full load?

Can someone explain the main differences between the DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR and the DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-D? I know the DR has more sata cables I think, but is that it? Does the SLI-D come with all the UV cables too?
Speedy reply needed please as im just about to order :D

with the dr u also get the front-x thing, which has external sata port, lights that show what has been detected on mobo, and 2 other things, cant remember what they are, and a thing that goes round ** pc so that u can carry it.

Im getting the DR tommorrow - mainly because I will have 3 SATA HDs and so 4 ports probably wont be nuff - also might use a SATA-IDE convertor with my Opticals to get rid of those IDE cables once and for all...

That external SATA connection might come in handy too - any ideas if there are external SATA drives yet (with USB2 and Firewire connections)? Seems a win-win situation with that - guess no hot-swapping tho...

ps3ud0

Nuff said. DR it is then :D
sata optical drives are already on the market, I would go the dr as you can elimanate,(eventually) IDE all together, as I find them to restrictave and them big cables do nowt but reduce good air flow. I have 2 74 wd raptors and 2 old 60 gig 1 maxtor and 1 samsung and these 2 together with my pioneer 107 optic really restrict my case. I eventually want the 2 wd raptors with 1 new 300gig+ 300mb per second(when out), along with at least 2 sata dvd drives

not sure if this has been posted but new bios...

Download

In bios you have 2 options for drive strength, first off im going to address Dram Drive strength options Auto to 8.

If you leave the option at Auto this will set a weak drive strength, this is good for TCCD based modules but bad for anything else. From testing and debugging the board i have concluded the following.

Options 1 3 5 7 are all weak, as is Auto, setting 1 is actually the weakest option with 7 being as close to the normal weak setting DFI will allow us.

Options 2 4 6 8 are the Normal settings, with 8 being the highest strength setting.

If you are using TCCD you may want to try 3 5 or 7 as the drive settings as they usually seem to allow the modules to clock well.

If you are using VX, or the new BH Gold, or any other modules from the OCZ range you may want to try 8 or 6.

Guys me got into a little boo boo here lol need help!

Deal is.. Just put in 2x OCuk Value 512mb PC3200 DDR Dual Memory sticks
Bios is updated to latest 310! when come starts up it finds it and warned me about dual channel goes in 2+4 slot. so i done that and rebooted! once again its find the mem all fine etc but when i goes to load windows it just stops! nothing happens.

When i put both sticks in slots 1+2 (yellow + Orange) windows loads up fine no problems at all but mem wont run in dual channel due to obvious reasons!

what do i do ??? lol thanks people!

Rather than try to read through masses of thread, has anyone had problems with line dropping when using the non NVidia network socket?

I'm using a Netgear DG834G which is on 1.5 firmware. Kids also lose wireless connection to the second PC upstairs so I don't think it is actually down to my PC more like router or BT line?

Andy.
