Thanks for replies guy's.

Will have a look at the rails tonight.

Tried differnt drivers yesterday and it seemed to get better, but will try another set tonight - roll on my 6600gt coming back!

Regards,

Matt

Ricco,

It was a clean install as my 6600gt was dead, the ati was the cheapest card I could find locally to try out when getting the bord up and running.

As an aside anyone got an idea as to what to set the memmory timings to as they are currentlty set to auto, I have heard this is not the best.

regards,

Matt

Do you actually have to connect the molex and floppy power cables to the board?

I don't have either connected and haven't had any problems, had my board set up since last Thursday.

I am using a 24 pin power supply though and rails are stable.

how do i get rid on the nvidia firewall :(

it loads each time into the system tray ,even though i have it turned off.
is there and option in the bios to disable it.

on a possitive note though ,now running ram in dual channel with no bsod's so far:)

give her a couple of days at default, then start to wind this baby up :D

ok, progress, i can boot with 2x 256 now. all the way into windows, no problem, and i can change bios settings. however, i cannot put all 4 slots of ram in. it posts, then starts loading windows, but just reboots and starts again. please please please dont tell me i have to format again and do annother fresh install!! is this just a case of windows not knowing what to do with 4 bits of ram?

thanks, its memtesting now.

ive just noticed that the ram is running at
167mhz ddr334 cas 2-3-2-5

this is just the automatic settings.

back on my nf7-s i had this stuff running at 2225 (as it is supposed to run) and at 200mhz (the gd old XP mobile o/c)

however the settings in this bios are far far more complicated than my old nf7-s, going to need to do some reading to work out what is what. but does this matter? could it possibly be causing the problem?

memtest has just thrown a load of red highlighted stuff up in test 5. doesnt look nice :(
