I wouldn't, the game is brilliant. The shadow setting barely makes a difference (looks wise).

Had another session on this today, very good I have to say. Quite surprised as I thought it was probably going to suck. It's a fun hark back to the old doom days. Runs well on high settings on my 780 at 1440p.

Anyone else found this guy? :p

Seems very slick so far and I'm seeing 100fps (monitor cap) most of the time 3440x1440 with a 980 Ti though some of the inside scenes can drop that all the way down to 75 fps. No noticeable drop in smoothness though with G-Sync enabled.

Wasn't going to bother initially then saw a couple of brief first impression vids on Youtube and they were very favorable so bought it via Kinguin for ~£26. Took just over an hour to download, 43GB, so went for a walk in the mean time.

That's like a Skyrim + Dark Souls easter egg in one

This one took me a few tries! Kept getting bamboozled from behind!

And I thought my game looked good :(

What are your specs? I'm getting a 1070 soon and wondering if it could run this kind of graphics coupled with a 4ghz 3570k, 32GB corsair vengeance.

I don't think the beta/console controller footage did it much favours - the SP is a very different beast when played properly on keyboard and mouse.

I had the same problem at first (as did many others).

There seems to be a bug with some systems running 290/390 class cards and shadows.

Try setting the game to Ultra, but then shadows to Low, you should get 60fps+ then :)

Thanks again, played tonight as you suggested and it was perfect. :)

That depends on your broadband, mine top out at around 4.5 MB/s. DVD installs - on the extremely rare occasions I use them - seem to be around 30MB/s.
Games no longer include all data on the DVD you have to download around 20-30GB + so as I said its no longer viable to buy PC-DVD!
