****Official Doom 4 Thread****

I think this will be one of those games I play again every time I get a new monitor or graphics card.

Playing this on a 40" 4k monitor, super-wide or 144hz gsync would look immense.
 
Just finished it... I've not enjoyed a game that much for ages. I'm even going back and collecting the little doom guys and uncovering the hidden original doom levels.

I went through most of the game with no crashes either until the last 4-5 levels when it started crashing regularly (and it literally just instantly dumped me back to the desktop).
 
The snap map feature is pretty good fun. Just had a really quick play to get to grips with it. I bet you could make some really good fun maps if you sunk enough time into it.

HQVTRZMM - Don't expect much though :p.
 
Lack of quicksave is doing my head in - fell down getting some armour, trying to get the same armour managed to die about 5 times now because I'm getting impatient of redoing the same section and not taking care of my movement and then falling to my death again :s sooooooooooo boring.

Yes, I was getting annoyed with the stupid save points to. Don't know why none console ports use them to be honest. It just makes it annoying rather than more of a challenge. I would rather have double enemies and quicksave :)
 
Quicksave is evil, it just trivialises combat and you end up hitting quicksave after every couple of steps.

In other news. Had a crack at Ultra-Nightmare last night. Great fun, its same difficulty as Nightmare, only difference is, if you die that's it, game over, start again. :D

The cool thing is, when you die you drop your helmet and others playing UN mode can see them on the floor. So it acts as a gravestone 'here lies XxxUrMomxxX, died 21/05/2016, Killed by: Explosive Barrel' :D

Also acts as a warning when you see a load of them together!

Well slower than most but finally finished. Just brilliant from start to finish, definitely the most fun I've got from a game in a long time.

Damn, even the end credits were great!
 
I assume I'm on the last boss now, it's the massive demon that has 2 lives... He's a tricky one! The BFG only scratches him :eek:

Think you have to complete it once before UN mode unlocks.

I took the pussy approach and hung back lobbing grenades at them from afar :D. Its quite fun nightmare mode, but glad you dont have to do the entire game for a super hard achievement. The first level was enough lol.
