****Official Doom 4 Thread****

Enjoyed playing this for abit last night on my HTPC.Came to playing this on my main PC and flagged up im playing in developor mode:mad:

Reinstalling or verifing the game files haven't fixed this! What a silly bug :mad:
 
17 hours in now and feel like I'm very close to the end (played 2 hours on highest difficulty then restarted on Medium - found it more fun on medium but will be re-playing on the harder settings once complete), best game I've played in years. If you're thinking of getting this, just do it!
 
It's a brilliant game but nothing like what i'm used to because i've been playing FC3 for ages, so at first i was dieing all the time, but i'm ok now....because i was as slow as hell when i started !!!

you cant hang around and think/plan an attack, you have to get nasty and jump right in, this game reminds me of Bulletstorm...... it's very similar.

i'll take a look at these settings because my game looks like a normal shooter it's quite bright inside..........but the game is crashing quite often as is the rest of the PC (whilst not gaming), this must be the latest drivers rather than the game itself..........because my rig has never crashed before.

ok it looks much better now, but what's needed soon is a 4K OLED tv.

this game will last me ages, i can see myself replaying it quite a few times, because this is the best shooter i've played (once you get used to it) :eek:

as said, to me it feels very similar to Bulletstorm.

Just finished it and really enjoyed it albeit short. Tried a bit of multiplayer but couldn't get the swing of it. Twitch shooters aren't really my thing but I love Doom. Don't see me coming back to play it on a higher difficult for a while but the movement and gun-play are fantastic.

well MP looked **** a month ago didn't it :cool: so there's no point even bothering with it.
 
I played a little MP last night (also played it a bit during the beta), and although its certainly not good I think some of the reaction to it has been a bit over the top, I mean its not that dreadful.... Obviously you'd hope for a lot better and its pretty poor, but its not THAT bad.

On a slightly related note, just noticed the Doom beta is still taking up around 15GB on my drive. I don't often play betas but a bit annoying that it disappears from your library but remains installed, obviously I can just delete it but only now I've noticed.
 
Don't forget the sharpening graphics option like I did. Makes a huge difference!

I also started off with everything almost pitch black. Can't remember what option fixed this but it wasn't brightness.
