*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

Starladder has been really good so far, what a game Alliance vs EG (2nd game) Never thought I would see Arteezy fall so far behind on an ember spirit of all heroes :D

Congrats to all those raising their rank, I have only played a few solo ranked as I am often in a small party when playing. So my solo games were one with Wraith King going a slight variation of the build I mentioned earlier:

Magic stick > Treads > Blade Mail > Maelstrom > AC and then I finish the Maelstorm into a full blown Mjollnir. Working really well so far.

2nd game I had captain draft picked which was quite fun. Won with doom which I have only played maybe 3 times in total.

I really should grind out WK/Lycan games before they get nerfed into the ground lol.
 
Had a horrendous run of games last night. After an 8 win streak Ive lost about 6 out of 7 games.

I wont put all the blame on other people, but there have been some damn annoying folk I've been put with.

Also, had 2-3 games where my mixed team has been up against a 5man team.

I personally find that is unfair. 5man groups should only be allowed to play other 5 mans.

Pretty certain it will be DK and EG final. It looks almost like the current meta has left Alliance and Navi behind. Considering the amazing start Empire had they have really fallen off in the past couple weeks also

Na'vi have a pretty proven track record of messing about early on in tourneys and then fighting their way out of the loser's bracket.
 
Woo, started ranked matchmaking! Stomped the first game pretty hard as Ogre, got stomped in the second as Warlock.
Finally started playing CM now I'm in ranked, though not sure if I should continue. I'd assumed it would encourage some semblance of teamwork, but apparently not. In the second game there was a guy who kept demanding weaver, and had to play AA. Turned out a couple of the other guys had played with him in the previous round where he had been absolutely destroyed by a weaver, hence him suddenly wanting to play it. He also only spoke spanish, went first item eul's (before even brown boots), and went 1-15.

Ah well, 8 more games and I'll find out how bad I actually am!
 
Had another 2 wins, both as WK, I didn't play particularly well as I have never played him much before but I can certainly see his potential!
 
Just to throw it out there, I'll be watching the tournament in game through Dota tv. If anybody else wants to join (seeing as you can watch the same game your party leader is) then feel free to add me and you can watch the games in client.

I only bought a ticket because for some reason, of all the days it's decided to do it, Twitch just wouldn't stop lagging for me. And I really want to see DK just wreck everything... hell I even bought a DK pendant!
 
Uruhhh was a fairly decent day of Dota until my last 3 solo games :(

Best one was stupidly choosing Captains draft and the spastic that took control of the captain chose this lineup: Timber, Lina, Zeuz, Mirana and AA

vs

Lich, Warlock, Doom, Medusa and Bloodseeker.

Tried to stay positive at the beginning, telling the team not to worry etc but yea game was lost on the draft. The enemy team also commented that our captain lost us the game before it started :D

I wouldn't say that's the case. Both drafts are a bit odd but i'd say they both have a shot at winning.

I think a lot of Dota is to do with your attitude. If you say 'gg' after 5 minutes your team will play bad and you have higher chance of losing :) Just my experience

We had zero damage. The Timber wanted to solo offlane and then fed. The Zeus called middle so was left supporting on Lina. Gave Mirana all the farm and protected her in the early game but their team fight was just to strong.

Doom, dooms timber, so that is him out of the fight. Warlock stun into Lich ult. Bloodseeker silencing zeus and then using his ult on one of us and then if we survive all of that Medusa ult means we have to turn away.

Didn't help that mirana rushed building linkens when she wasn't being targeted by Doom and was our only potential right click damage dealer.
 
Had a great game last night. Mid way I was about to call GG as their team had absolutely dominated us. They had a Kunkaa who was 6 levels above us and we were struggling. But then he started to get too cocky and began to throw.

Was wonderful :-D we managed to get drow fed and myself as Abaddon became unstoppable. Heart or Tara and the rest 6 slotted by the end of game. Awesome turnaroud.

I love when some games go like that

Timber is a good hero to have against all of them, they have zero lockdown apart from rupture (just TP away), doom and medusa's ult. You should have been avoiding mass teamfights and started pushing really early. As for no damage, your team had a ridiculous amount of nuke, the rest of your damage should have come from Mirana's farm. Zeus is obviously going to go middle over Lina so I'm not sure why that's an issue. The main problem with your line-up is the lack of reliable stun, venge/CM or some would combo with AA and Mirana a lot better.

The problem with lower MMR games (I say this as a member of this bracket) is that pushing early requires a bit of co-ordination and a change from what people usually do, so it rarely happens.
