Did anyone have connection problems last night around Midnight?

We started a game, I got a haste rune then got first blood by 50 seconds. A great start. Until my mate got dc. Then one of their team got dc, then another of ours, then one of theirs. No one could reconnect to the network either. Seemed lots got affected by it.
Quite a shame as I was on a high :-(

Timber is a good hero to have against all of them, they have zero lockdown apart from rupture (just TP away), doom and medusa's ult. You should have been avoiding mass teamfights and started pushing really early. As for no damage, your team had a ridiculous amount of nuke, the rest of your damage should have come from Mirana's farm. Zeus is obviously going to go middle over Lina so I'm not sure why that's an issue. The main problem with your line-up is the lack of reliable stun, venge/CM or some would combo with AA and Mirana a lot better.

The problem with lower MMR games (I say this as a member of this bracket) is that pushing early requires a bit of co-ordination and a change from what people usually do, so it rarely happens.

This was captain draft not captain mode and were at the mersey of the captain for picks, veng/Cm were not in the draft.

Timber just gets doomed like I said, he had zero impact. No problem with Zeus going middle except it started to become apparent that we didn't have enough damage output.

We had no push either, the enemy team defended their towers very well and applied pressure to alll of our towers in return. We had no hard carry like a void or AM that would allow us to try and turtle. We needed to be active early, we needed towers but the team lineup was not strong enough to counter that lineup.
 
There are definitely ways it can be played so your team would have beaten them, it's silly to say it was lost in the draft. Zeus/Mirana/Lina/AA is also a HUGE amount of burst damage, but I assume they had a pipe up early? The problem revolves around everyone at <4k MMR generally playing the same safe laning safe farming style, so line-ups with hard carries end up winning as nothing decisive happens before 20 minutes.

Turns out I was wrong, assumed that consolation final essentially meant third place play-off but EG do indeed have another shot!

EDIT: before anyone comments, yes i play in a pretty naff tier.

Nice one!

Empire got owned by DK in the Starladder finals. Last game you could tell Empire wanted to try and turn it around but that Ember Spirit. "I'm just going to come in, do damage to everyone then head out, then I will do it again and again". I'm not a fan of Empire. I think Storm or Puck is more fun to watch but hey DK won so they were doing it right.
 
Two very good games with Hedge from the forums tonight :)

We won the first with him as Razor and I was playing Dazzle. Got another win with Hedge playing Lock and I took Puck. Hedge nailed it with Lock and some perfect ults, I was a little off the boil with Puck but still a positive K/d and a win :)

Warlock is one of those heros that stomps in pubs but you never see get picked up in pro games :)

Sceptre + Refresher is kinda fun for pub stomping
 
Imagine just how good dota would be if russians didn't exist online....

EDIT: 12 wins 3 losses in last 15 games, not bad. I think im in for a thumping soon when this run comes to an end....

The mute button gets a lot of use. As soon as people start talking bull crap "cyka" or random Russian insults I just mute them and enjoy a bit of peace. You also get the people who enjoy pinging the map 500 times, they are pretty annoying too. I've become quite good at just ignoring idiots and playing my own game
 
Got win no12 on the bounce. Played Drow (wanted Puck but the whole team begged me not to play him for some reason) had a terrible game up until the midway point, was 1/7 and getting slated and people wanting to report me. Told them all to stfu and give it time, got my hands on shadowblade then s&y (wanted the maim) and then snowballed. By the end was 18/12 and dominated every team fight getting mostly triple kills. Game went on over an hour and was a good close win, we had 3 towers left when we took the agent but they still had their top and bottom towers left.
