*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

o_O

So you don't have fun playing dota?

No. I play Dota purely to follow my dream of one day lifting the Aegis of Champions aloft above my head on the stage before being congratulated by Gabe Newell and carried off the stage by Dota legends such as SingSing, Arteezy, Dendi and Murray.

This will never come true if I waste time on fickle things such as fun. I'll also be able to use the winnings (which will be over £50million by TI8, my scheduled victory tournament if I stick to my routine) to buy the highest of high horses. I'll come back to this thread to provide pictures.

Talking of which, here's the 3rd instalment of LiquidDota - The Art of Support.

Be warned, the author is sharing knowledge of Dota therefore must have an extremely high horse. Ridiculously arrogant of him to even write such an article. Who does he think he is? Elitist *****.

Thanks for the link. There is some good advice in there (although several times I found him wanting to go into a little more detail, felt like he skimmed a few important things)

Murray, you will be able to buy your own highest of high horses, I have hereby recruited you to my #roadtoti8 team. With theory crafting like the four blink strat I must recruit you and Tune immediately. The fourth team member will be No1newts, renowned for his unique ability to play any hero in a high KDA hard support role.

The longest road of all is laid out ahead of our fifth and final member. I went to visit the oracle the other day who told me that Musty Pie is The One, he has been mentioned in the prophecies. We need to tear him away from Mr. Bios, a code written into the Matrix in an attempt to trap Musty in single draft forever where he will be stuck trying lane combinations such as Luna Bristleback and Anti-Mage Medusa. After his farm deprived childhood he will be more hungry for gold than any carry ever to grace the Dota scene, and will be forever remembered as the first Dota player to average over 1k GPM for an entire tournament.

I look forward to joining #roadtoti8 and working together with this great organization and fantastic group of high skill players. Together I truly believe we can become the best in the world and all purchase the highest of high horses after winning TI8.

And thus the team name was decided. The crowd at Wembley Stadium (it gets moved because the UK Dota scene is so huge after the TI6 revolution) will be chanting "dribbler, dribbler, dribbler" as our high horse lap of honour takes place.

I'm going to have dreams of this every night until TI8.

My dreams will keep me motivated to keep improving with #TeamDribbler as we embark on our #roadti8.

I'm going to own the highest amount of aTom autographs.

Every hero I play in TI8 will have a set signed by you.

You're only playing Ogre Magi, your 100% win rate will still remain after TI8 and the hero will be renamed to Ogre Murray in honour of your services to Dota.

I missed 2 pages of arguement last night

I'm not eventing to get involved I just wanted to say good morning and thanks for the good game last night, despite the deficiencies which have now been pointed out :p

Got my Dark Seer challenge done too, had some good moments (and my typical 20 minute hissy fit :p) but I don't think he's a hero I'll be going back to.

This actually made me chuckle quite a bit.

I didn't realise that you had a sense of humour. However I was harshly reminded of the reality once you took it too far.

Cleary we have "much to learn about Dota" (there's a book dying to be written in there somewhere) and its arguable that you have much to learn about social interaction and comedy and its application.

Its a good job us "oldies" have our priorities right at least. :p

Shami: I think you misunderstand the epic base rush/*drow support* game. Whilst the game kind of forced me to play drow as a support, (we have discussed this at length already) and it was mighty stressful, it still goes down as one of my most enjoyable games to date. I didn't hate it for one second.

Yes loads of things went wrong (from both teams) that game when you compare it to a normal game of dota but I think the outcome speaks for itself. I distinctly remember placing some nice wards as a *drow support* that made your KOTL pretty useless early game.

I wouldnt take any advice from trash tier players 4k to 4.5k. Its the worse tier of the community by far full of asshats elitists that think they are really good at the game when most are not. the only difference between most 3k and 4k players is that the latter managed to learn some tryhard picks. I"ve seen some exceptional players around 3k stuck there due to them sticking to the role and heroes they enjoy.
