*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I've been playing slark recently 5 games with him. 5 wins.

One of the games I did suck but the rest of the team carried me, I think I have got my initial build set in stone now, then the rest depending on what their team has.

He is a really fun hero to play, just not all that strong in the laning stage and if you get behind you're in for a rough ride as he can't really flash farm and catch up.

Slark is great. I play him quite regularly myself. He's probably the most powerful character in the game. I don't think anyone else has the ability to wipe out most of a team solo.

I think the new shadow blade item (forget it's name) is a perfect choice on him, throw in skadi and you're laughing.

The biggest issue with farm I have is mainly just down to people laying wards to stop me regenerating. Otherwise slark can tear through jungle if uninterrupted. Just never stop farming, try and get a bit of a lead then don't be scared to gank every chance.

Personally cannot stand this patch, the amount of additional stealth items blows. Every single fight in pretty much every game is people just pinging round invisible. Yawn.

It is not counterable in Pubs most games as you don't have enough, or good enough, support to spend constant gold on wards. Then as soon as you get behind and gold becomes even rarer for your support the stealth gets even more pointless.

Time to take a break again, I hope it is something they reverse but I cannot see it being all that easy to do so.

What.

The biggest mistake you are making is assuming that detection is the job of a support. If their team is using heavy invis as a focus then at least 2/3 people should have dust or sentries on them, regardless of their role. It's a 180 gold item that pays for itself over just 1 kill, there is no excuse. Hell if the team has 2 or 3 heroes using invis then a core hero getting an early gem can win a game.

Agreed plus, early detection means they cannot use the invis to their advantage meaning early gold advantage to your team via kills.

The good feels having sentries or dust in lane when theres a clinks or a riki is <3.

Its not entirely the supports role yeah they can primarily buy the wards but anyone can buy dust and if you as a carry buy a dust early and it nets you an early kill what more can you ask for.

I think the consensus these days is to max your dark pact(Q), this way if you do fall behind you only need to hit level 6 and then you can flash farm the jungle incredibly fast.

Is Ursa very powerful this patch?

Just had a game where late Ursa was melting my whole team of Troll, SB, WD, Husk and Zeus almost solo evey fight. He ha some decent support but not sure if it's a well played Ursa is very powerful this patch or we just had a bad game :)

Yeah his ultimate is brilliant now. His damage is ridiculous.

Get lifesteal, kill rosh at lvl 4 or so. Then just destroy everything. He's gonna be getting picked a lot in competition games I think.

Same as before really just a bit more durable. If you have nothing to kite him with he's an issue, otherwise not.

He has the same problem as before where he is just easy to kite and control. Especially late game when his bkb gets low, don't think we'll see too much of him in competitive play.

Yeah he is definitely not capable of late game carrying but his ability to wreck in the early game is relatively unmatched I'd say. His new changes to his ulti make up for the rest of his relatively crap skillset

I do see personally think we might see him used a little in the international etc. Just for that initial dominance I guess.

I'm sure people will create strats around him.

Plus carries always come last, so if the other team are lacking in the CC and kiting he may still get picked.

I've not tried him, but have played against him a few times now.

Hi guys, Im getting really into Dota 2 recently!

Not only do I like playing it but I enjoy watching it as well. Can I ask, where do you watch games? is there a decent twitch or youtube channel i can subscribe to or do you watch via the game tourny menus??

Looking forward to the international 2015!

So guys in the pro scene what are we thinking with 6.84?

Constant out draft or deathball meta is back?

Seems sooooo much like a repeat of TI4 to be honest. As much as I can respect the execution of Secret, EG and VG. The games are so boring :(

What servers does everyone play on Ranked matches?

I've dropped from 2.8kmmr to 2kmmr very rapidly from players abandoning, calling GG early when it can always be brought back, trolling with couriers, really bad builds etc.

I'm giving US east a go for a while, But Europe low 2000 area mmr is atrocious.

Went from 2.4 to 1.5.
Only play EU West. Tried US East but (and this is hilarious coming from a 1.5k player) the skill bracket is lower.

I keep playing ranked with the idea that I want to improve my MMR but someone quits or feeds or someone picks a mid carry and doesn't carry or someone picks carry Venge.... also everyone is buying the new items even if they are not any good for that hero. My last game someone sold a mek and bought glimmer cape. Awesome....

EDIT: MY CS:GO skill is going up though. So I have that going for me which is nice.

In the end assuming you are good then there is more chance this feeder/quitter/fool will be on the other team. It's frustrating but in the long run if you are good enough you will rise in mmr.
