*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

Definitely got to the stage that I only want to play if there is someone I know from steam friends or people from the guild. Playing public games on your own is painful. I am almost certain players are throwing games on purpose sometimes/typing **** in Russian.

Well we use a Teamspeak, when it isn't being laggy as hell, and do our best to be complete try-hards in some games. The more the merrier, really. TS3 details should be in the guild info I think... might as well drop in, if you've got nothing better to do with your Sunday afternoon!

May have to, I'll pm you if I see you online.

Just had 2 rage quitters, calling me every name under the sun 9 minutes into the game because I couldn't get bottom quick enough. /rage

I'd been looking for an excuse to send the Dota2 team some more money, I've certainly had my fill of free hours from them. This is the only game I've ever paid for fluff stuff in, even though you can eventually loot it.

The last thing I bought was the compendium for the same reason.

So I bought this last night, I had over £4 quid from selling items anyway so I basically got it for half price.

and thats the UI

Wish you could sell items on this, got a few rare things I'd rather have a few quid for than making my heroes look pretty.

You can now, so long as the items are not for sale on the store. Basically any item older than 6 months you can list on the community market :D

Gutted - had a game last night, where Captain's Pick chose me as Phantom Lancer (PL).

At the start, we were quickly falling behind as the enemy had Purge and LION, who kept stunning and pulling before killing everyone early on. Phantom Lancer was quick but not quick enough and died 3 times from squishyness.

Once I had my experience to level 6, PL became more aggresive and surviveable due to fast attack speed and quick spawning of phantoms. The game was still in balance because our team started to work together and targeting weaker enemies first before dealing with the troublesome.

By the time I reached level 10, my PL started to gain solo kills from sneaking behind the enemy and attacking lonely enemy heroes. By level 16, I was able to jump into a battle after the enemy were silenced by our team, I could take out 2-3 of the opposition by ghosting in, surprise attack/pop invisible phantom/quick escape whilst invisible/sneak attack again and fire another phantom at fleeing heros to finish them off, before a final invisible dash for escape and health/mana recharge. So, at this point the game swung our way, we overtook the enemy's score, we destroyed their towers down to the final row (I think bottom towers all gone) AND THEN THE WIFE NAGGED ME TO STOP PLAYING GAMES AS IT WAS LATE IN THE NIGHT AND WORK EARLY BLAH! BLAH! AARRGGH!!! - So I had to apologise to team and quit. :(

I'm starting to see where you guys come from with the pub game hate. I must have been lucky for my first dozen games and generally had an enjoyable time. Over the last 3-4 days played around 6-8 pub games and they have all been ****!

I'm still learning and far from the best but the amount of retarded window lickers you get in this game is baffling. Highlights being the Zeus player who ran straight into melee range and died all the time, the Dragon knight who focused on killing creeps ignoring heroes and dying every 2 seconds and the Ranger who ran away at the first sight of any enemy hero, he finished a 25min game with 0 kills and 1 death :/
