**Official Duke Nukem Forever Thread**

This is interesting, some footage of a 2003 build of DNF, you can see some elements used in the 2001 trailer but looking much better graphically

And 2006

Aaaand the unreleased triptych trailer that came about after 3dr had to stop development, the Duke model in this looks different, bit better id say

Oh and how many have beaten the first battlelord? Gave me a laugh seeing what Duke does to him. :D Yes in the first access demo last friday the scanlines are because Duke is playing his own game whilst the twins are ****ing him
Anyone else come across this? i took a wrong turn and found it

Yes saw that its what 2K are counting on will make people buy this game  as thats about all it has to offer :(

So basically DNF has mediocre graphics with reasonable gameplay and a ton of unoriginal, vulgar and immature Duke Nukem material to go with it...

Fantastic!!

I watched the first 45 minutes on TotalBiscuit's youtube channel and it looked absolutely terrible. I believe there was only 3/4 minutes of actual shooting.

Soldier : "Hey Duke we got your green power armour(halo stuff) over here".

Duke : "Power armour is for pussys".

Soldier : "Ughhh well want a gun instead?"

I think it is actually quite good and one of the most refreshing shooters I have played in a while. What with all the BLOPS Crysis military shooters that we seem to get nowadays.

It is certainly funny in a purile sense, however it knows what it is and tries to be nothing more. the one liners have not got tired and Duke exclaiming 'what the *&%$' in the high pitched voice when getting miniturised for the first time was comic timing. The interactions are brilliant and actually do add to the gameplay, contrary to what the chap said before when reviewing the demo. They are a great way to boost your life bar instead of picking up some green glowy stuff which for some reason boosts your HP a la other games.

The graphics are fine; they do not assault the eyes and the shooting mechanics are solid.

One thing is for sure; it has captured the Duke magic spot on and it feels like playing a Duke game. A remake or sequel of a much loved IP is often in danger of being contrived, however I am happy to find that this is not the case.

There are certainly some gameplay mechanics which are simple and borderline dull, such as shooting the Mothership. Playing these you actually panic about dying as you do not want to go through it again. Happily they are brief and I hope there are not a load of these.

I certainly do not regret my preorder. I play games for entertainment and nothing more and this is so far ticking the right boxes.

Seems to be the only positve thing I have heard about Duke so far RaMDOM. I certainly hope I can see it the way you do :)
I play games for fun too and I don't take them too seriously like a lot of people can. Some of my friends will only play a game for 5 mins before turning it off and never playing it again. I don't think I have ever done that with a game. I have always given whatever I play, a chance. Then again my friends pirate games which really annoys me  They download all the latest titles, play them for 5 mins then thats it.
I shall be giving this game a chance. I will play it through till the end :)

I'd love to know what 3D Realms were actually doing for all those years because this is not 12+ years worth of work.

Rumour has it that they were building the DNF engine up then selling it off and starting again repeatedly, apparently Epic bought what became the UT2003/UT3 engines off them.

Judging by user comments it sounds like it's Duke with a modern reboot and every ****** was complaining it wouldn't be?

What exactly were people expecting? Seriously, it's Duke.

No health packs just stupid hide from being shot and u will live, no multiple guns and too much cut scene... disappoint so far

Yes, these two things confuse me too!

I'd much rather have a limited amount of life, and health packs... Seems more skill would be required.

And just two weapons? Hmm!
