Will allowing people to move to console be bad for the pc version?
I'm on cadwells gold veteran content and can't find others to do world bosses or dolmens it seems so empty.
Surely it's going to get worse with players moving to console.

Well this game is starting out already annoying me. 36GB download, took over 24hrs thanks to my poo internet, watch it install, boom extra 0.5GB download, watch it install, boom heres another 6GB loser! Looks like I might get playing it today if im lucky.

Why cant their installer just be honest with you instead of tacking on additional unmentioned downloads? If its 50GB tell me that so at least I wont get excited many hours before necessary.

I don't think console will make it worse. Cadwell Gold is empty because most people prefer just to grind out levels rather than quest through the place (many suffer from quest fatigue by mid VR).
Those that are doing it likely don't hang around - every class with the right build can solo all the content, therefore no one hangs around for Dolmens or Bosses, they simply run through, kill and get on with it.
You need to remember, when it comes to Cadwells Gold, almost none of the new B2P players are at that stage whilst most the old players have already finished it. People playing alts in the area are definitely geared and experienced enough to plough through it without any difficulty and so do so.

You are at an awkward 'in between' phase, where the population is on either side of you.

Is there any good mod packs for this? Had a gander at the separate mods on curse earlier but no idea what to get.

Trying to get prepared for the beta tester trial that starts on Thursday.

I use:

Foundry tactical combat ( you can turn off the floating combat text if it annoys you)
wykkyd outfitter ( for saving different gear sets tank/dps/pvp )
Wykkyds macros (changes gear & skill bars in one button press )

There are also a couple of handy addons for finding lorebooks & skyshards, but I would leave them till youve played through it once, as they will take away some of the exploration fun on your 1st char.

Depends on your taste. Keeping things minimalist or looking at more MMO type add ons?

www.dungeoncrawlernetwork.com/list-recommended-add-ons/

That lists a lot of add ons briefly explaining what each does, from there you can pick what you think may be important to you

Thanks guys. That dungeoncrawlernetwork site helps a lot.

Glad it's of use. If you end up sticking around in the game, there are also guides on all skill lines there too which you may find helpful while getting to grips with it all.

Chances are i probably won't play it past this weekend but it would be nice if it grabs my attention enough to buy, I haven't been able to get into an MMO for ages.

Any suggestions on a solid class for playing this free weekend? It doesn't matter how good or bad it is for endgame, just something good for a few days exploring at low to mid levels to see if i like the game enough to buy. I can always reroll for an endgame toon if i do.

No preference for melee, ranged or magic.

I would go Templar for the easiest time - you get a self heal very quickly and you have the awesome Puncturing Strikes attack. Both those can be the backbone of any self sufficient damage dealing soloer

Templar it is then :)

@meldarthx For this i had no preference, i've enjoyed all types of classes over the years. I was just looking for something solid to potter around with over the weekend to see the game world itself rather than the classes.

Your voice on those vids is oddly calming in a sleepy sorta way lol.
