*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

That's the base game, a good start. When you log in, if you check the Crown store under 'DLC' you'll see some called Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood. Those are optional content you can buy with Crowns (or they come for free if you have the 'Gold' edition of ESO Tamriel Unlimited). Separate to that you can buy Morrowind which is the latest expansion.

Played this for a few months after a year or so break.. its great fun but like all mmorpg it is repetitive
And for myself i always need a goal in such games, but once youve levelled everything you want, got the gear you want etc then theres a lot of moments where your stood around wondering what to do..

I would say for anyone playing everyday and really enjoying the game then 'ESO plus' is a must.. it gives you access to all the DLC, double bank space and a crafting bag among other things

@Zom as kiyoshi said that is just the base game, unless it is the gold edition.
as for DLC the top ones are Orsinium, thieves guild and dark brotherhood..
The imperial city one is PVP based and theres another one that just adds a couple of new dungeons
What i suggest is, if you find yourself enjoying the game after a while then i would buy 1 months of ESO plus, which will give you access to all the DLC mentioned.. except the new morrowind which is considered an 'Expansion' not a DLC

Thanks, just watching some youtube vids to reaquaint myself :)

Started playing last night and continued my nightblade char and go to level 6. Does anyone use any addons? I installed Dark UI but I can't see any options for the bars etc to stay onscreen so if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

I sent friend requests to a couple of bods from here (Tempstar & SS-89 I think) but forgot to put comments in so it's not from some random stranger!

I use mods for visible dragon shards, visible mundus stones and visible lore books. Puts icons on the maps for them. I used to do the scavenger hunt thing for each zone using the clues, but eventually got tired of it.

If you mean the health, stam, magicka bars then you can do that without an addon now, its in options > combat

as for addons i recommend installing minion as TMT said above, its a great addon manager and you can search for and install addons within that
the ones i use are..

Advanced autoloot renewed
Advance Filters
AwesomeGuildStore
Craftstore Fixed and Improved
Craftstore Morrowind
Destinations
Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter
Easy Travel
Lorebooks
Lost Treasure
Master Merchant
Minimap by Fyrakin
Multicraft
Potion Maker
Ravalox' Quest Tracker
Research Assistant
Skyshards
Wykkyd Toolbar

I will leave you to look them up and see if they apply to you but imo they are all great addons and add to improving the game

Also looking at making a start on this game, only put about 5 hours on release. I have the Imperial edition so I'm not sure what that contains. I read the last couple pages on this thread. It's recommended to use my crowns to buy the Orsinium, thieves guild and dark brotherhood dlc. I'm a very casual player so don't get a lot of time at the moment. I'm gonna give it a go with my Xbox controller for sit back casual play.
If I do like it a lot after a few weeks I'll get the morrowind expansion and a plus membership for a month.

The imperial one is actually the one i have too, it gives you access to play as the imperial race, a white horse mount and a vanity pet
I think there might be a few extra things but the main things are the imperial race (sort of an all rounder due to the passives) and the mount which helps when your a new player

I downloading this through the the Bethesda client. I haven't got a copy on Steam what am I better off doing as I can get the morrowind if I like it for 20 quid and it comes withe tamriel unlimited but that's only for steam.

if you already own the base game then theres no point in buying a bundle that includes that too..
although if you are interested in the other DLC and since you havent put much time into the game yet i would recommend buying the ESO gold edition as that includes all the DLC prior to morrowind at a much cheaper rate than buying them with crowns

but if you just interested in getting the morrowind expansion then i suggest looking on key sites, theres plenty of places that have it for around £10

You can link your Bethesda version to a Steam version, but you need to re-buy it through Steam.

Could I play ESO with my Bethesda account now and wait for steam gold edition to be on sale then link my account and carry on with my character?

Not sure about the steam side of things as ive never played it through steam, however i do know the gold edition isnt something you can just add to your existing account.. it has to be a new account so would be a clean start

interested to know if it would work the steam way though as i wanted to gold edition but no way was i willing to restart on a fresh account

Sounds a bit of an expensive run around or maybe it'll work out cheaper. What will happen to my Imperial edition if I went and bought a gold edition on Steam and then linked accounts?

It is expensive just to get it in Steam yes, I waited until it was on sale on Steam. Not sure what will happen to your Imperial edition, although you're actually linking the account (i.e. all your characters are retained), so I can only assume you will take the Imperial content with you and it will show as 'Owned' in the store.
