Fairly decent review, doesn't smell of the usual corporate buyoff to push good reviews.

It doesn't really come across too negative or too positive, which concerns me a little. It feels to me that the reviewer didn't like it, but had to make it 'middle ground' otherwise they'd loose the ZeniMax contract.

Seemed pretty fair to me in highlighting some of the issues and potential good points. Didn't seem too concerned about ZeniMax given they said they thought it could be a 'decent' but not 'great' and criticised the pricing.

Urgh, takes too long logging in! Just sat at the character screen for 5 mins waiting for it to connect. Too long, game closed. Have they fixed ANYTHING?

Just alt and tab while you wait I think the servers are overloaded.

Whats the highest level everyone has reached? I'm at level four at the moment finding the game ok I guess, its not a bad game runs well graphics are nice but there is nothing that grips me about it.

Tried it again this morning. Waiting 15 minutes to log in. Run around for a bit doing a quest to kill some monster. Yawn.
The melee combat is so boring, is ranged any more interesting? The game is quite pretty and I think it has some potential if the combat could be made more interesting, I think back to some missions in Skyrim and how great they'd be in a small group to take down enemies - but I'm not sure I'll come around to this. Certainly wouldn't pay a sub for it.

Tried it last night, what a clunky, floaty mess! Shocking. I won't be bothering with that especially at the price they're trying to charge.

As an aside I thought PvP was going to be available, it didn't appear to be from what I could see?

Ranged seems to be better than melee imo but the lack of skill slots kind of holds it all back.

You have to be level 10, then pick a home instance on the pvp tab, then you can queue up, it's all very confusing and not very clear tbh, from what I could see last night the pvp doesn't look that bad, the area is massive and you can quick travel using a way shrine, just a shame the combat is so bad so it kinda ruins the whole thing.

I'm trying my beta key for the first time, but for some reason for me the download is taking HOURS.

I've switched to a mirror provided by games.on.net but that's saying 10 hours too.

I have Virgin Media 120mbps connection, does anyone have any tips for how I can get this downloaded quicker?

Thanks.

After putting in a good few hours with this in the last test and this weekends test, I think it's going to be free to play in 6 months. Pvp is quite good. But the questing is awful. To much distance between quests. The world just does not feel alive to me, it's static and uninteresting. It's going to take a huge lot of work to get it where it needs to be for launch, and I don't think they have the time or the vision to get there. And first impressions of Mmo's is huge. It can finish a game off before it's even started. I really really wanted to like this game but it just feels like an under budget Skyrim with most of the fun striped away to fit it into a mmo mould. :(

I tried the first beta and gave up after an hour thought it was so bland. Completely uninspiring, dull & terrible combat system as usual imo for Bethesda games. Cannot believe the price for this game either, incredible that they think £50 for this is some how worth it on top of your then monthly sub. That business model is so old and doesn't seem to work any more so why they think they can get away with it in a game that adds nothing new to a genre that has been done and done again is baffling.

Not really, I'd imagine they're hoping to recoup the development cost on the initial surge of hype and on the good name of Elder Scrolls. I'd say they know full well it's going to be a one-month wonder, hence the high pre-order prices.

Is there anybody who could actually tell a story of them having fun on this?

It's all well and good trying to be positive about it saying that the presentation is nice, that it captures the feel of an elder scrolls game in an mmorpg etc., but beta weekends and launch-events should be filled with non-scripted moments you experience with other people that you remember forever. I just don't see this game offering anything other than what is listed on the "features" part of the game case.

I think my biggest disappointment is that it genuinely does invoke the feeling of elder scrolls but doesn't really come close to the quality of them. People who dreamt of how good an elder scrolls MMORPG could be will have expected a lot more than this.
