*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

No good stories here. Had a moment which reminded me what this *could* have been though...
Hitting some enemy monster, taking a pounding and some guy running in, healing me and then helping finish the monster. So much potential to questing in groups, yet the combat is so mundane there isn't a hope in hell :(

Is it just me but I find something offputting about the graphics even at 1440p with everything turned up. It feels a bit clinical and Shiny to me for some reason although I can't quite put my finger on it. There just doesn't seem to be any atmosphere... Dunno, could be me.

It's the engine, MMO engines always feel like this. If this game is still on hero engine then it's even less surprising, it's a useless engine.

Really can't get excited about this after having some hands on time this weekend. It's just so boring, no sense of achievement whatsoever. Combat just feels..bad, can't really think of the right word. Felt like I was playing a **** single player game.

Im in the same boat, had another go but still cant get excited about it.. they wont be getting my money.

I'm leaning towards the opposite after giving it a good 15 hours or so over the weekend.

After my initial feelings of it being so mediocre and run of the mill I'm actually finding myself having fun with a sword and board Dragonknight, Templar was also quite fun. Some areas are still so average, like combat, which I'm really hoping they work on. I'm also finding that I just can't play ranged - Bow's are terrible and Staffs put me to sleep. But other areas are good such as the lore and fully voiced acting, and I do like the graphics and the engine feels solid.

It's mainly all about the combat for me which puts me off. If they could add some weight to combat like sometimes when I'm hitting something it just feels like I'm not really hitting it. Also if they could improve the animations and maybe add some particle effects just to make what you're doing in combat feel just "more" than it is, then I'd be quite content.

I think I'll give it a shot for the first month as I do feel I can get £40's worth of fun out of it, but beyond a month will totally depend on how they progress with the game (in particular combat).

I tried the first beta and gave up after an hour thought it was so bland. Completely uninspiring, dull & terrible combat system as usual imo for Bethesda games. Cannot believe the price for this game either, incredible that they think £50 for this is some how worth it on top of your then monthly sub. That business model is so old and doesn't seem to work any more so why they think they can get away with it in a game that adds nothing new to a genre that has been done and done again is baffling.

Complete rubbish.

Sub based gaming is perfectly fine if the games quality is up to the monthly price tag.

HBO charge you for high quality TV shows using a monthly sub, i'd like to see you speak to them and suggest going free for everyone, just charge them per show and each episode plays -0.5x speed per 10mins until you buy a +1 speed boost.

Seriously, free to play gaming is a horrible invention that is ruining gaming. I made this call years ago and its just getting worse.

And BF4 Pay more, Be More motto. Just 2 examples.

Exactly, there's nothing wrong with it, it isn't old nor is it something that doesn't work. The F2P Games I've wanted to play end up asking more cash through store items to carry on playing, such as being able to raid, dungeon and pvp outside of the limits. Not to mention all the other extras which rack up the price if you want.

I'mhappy spending 8-10£ a month without getting penalised, it's something I wished planetside 2 did. I want to be able to use any weapon/vehicle outside of character progressive locks/upgrades and such for a sub. Sub stops? Lose the ability to use the other items you haven't bought. Though that was back then, not going to touch that game again - bit shallow after the millionth zerg rush on a compound that has a 5:1 player ratio - yawn :P

Played for 4 hrs this weekend, I've never played an mmo that has grabbed me less.
Never winter is loads more fun and free. Swtor was a better put together game than this.
Glad I got a chance to play it cause I won't be buying it

I wouldnt even call this a game worthy of the name Bethesda. It feels more like a generic MMO. Something you would play as a game within a game, that plays as a parody of how shallow MMO's are.

The whole time I played, it felt like at any moment a message was going to popup to tell me its a massive joke and the real TESO is about to begin.

Is there anybody who could actually tell a story of them having fun on this?

It's all well and good trying to be positive about it saying that the presentation is nice, that it captures the feel of an elder scrolls game in an mmorpg etc., but beta weekends and launch-events should be filled with non-scripted moments you experience with other people that you remember forever. I just don't see this game offering anything other than what is listed on the "features" part of the game case.

I think my biggest disappointment is that it genuinely does invoke the feeling of elder scrolls but doesn't really come close to the quality of them. People who dreamt of how good an elder scrolls MMORPG could be will have expected a lot more than this.

I really like it! :o

It has its disappointments but it's alongside TSW for having oodles of atmosphere and there is an incredible amount of immersion to the game too. There are loads of bugs atm with quest mobs not spawning (I'd put this down to their 'megaserver' tech) but just running around the world, stumbling upon quests (I love that there aren't traditional quest hubs, again, like TSW) doing some mining and soaking it all up.

Two-handed melee is fine and feels very meaty when the heavy hits connect but DW does feel 'floaty' (not tried S+B) and combat is fine for me; certainly better than stand still, click buttons and wait on cooldowns.

Not tried PvP but I'm really enjoying it. Have pre-ordered and whether I continue with a sub depends on what plans they present for post launch content (and whether or not the rumoured cash shop starts selling more than vanity and services).

LoL is F2P and it's great. World of Tanks isn't bad either. Planetside? Team Fortress? Plenty of other smaller titles are decent; the industry is growing nicely, in fact.

It's the sub based games that are suffering. With the exception of WoW and Eve, we have what? Bugger all.

Mobile Dungeon Keeper (and phone games generally) =/= gaming.

EOS will be in a league of its own, a type of disaster that won't make money even after it dges F2P, unless they manage to pull a miracle + completely overhaul combat.

I have enjoyed my time in the game too.

You can easily see why the majority of people don't like it but I'm not looking for another wow or a big commitment on my time. If you expect the usual mmo formula its a big disappointment but there is something I personally enjoy about the world and theme of this game.

Still think the sub/pricing is asking too much and is generating extra hate on the game.

The running animation when you have your weapons drawn keeps reminding me off below. It's like they are taking huge leaps with their arms flailing.
