*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

I've decided to lock myself in this weekend and pack in the cigs.

It's going to be a tough one, either this or dark souls 2

I hope they've added the 360 controller support in this beta.
 
I'm really not sure what class to play.

Nightblade was OK but archery got very boring quickly (got to ~level 9)

I tried the other classes a little, but what I really enjoyed was Templar. Unfortunately not the healing side of Templar... Templar DPS! Is this going to be viable at 50 for dungeons/raids/whatever or are templars always going to be considered the healers and not be able to keep up with the other DPS classes?

Very viable as DPS.

One thing to remember, just because you levelled up as a DPS, doesn't mean you can't completely switch to light armour, resto staff and heal.

Hell if you wanted to, you could go bow + ranged magic.

Which is exactly what my beta char was, Bow + Templar Ardric Spear branch
 
Yeah the sole fact the pvp was designed by the proper daoc devs sold me on this. Can't wait for their darkness falls equivalent. What time and day does the beta kick off for us? I read one place that said 5pm today and the Teso email I received at 00:45 this morning says 4pm tomorrow which I would assume is Saturday. Confused.com

Email says 14th & last 3 betas have started on a friday night, so I would assume today, email says 5pm gmt, patcher says 4pm so not sure which.

A word of warning, I clicked accept to change to eu server, & it said I didnt have permission to do this & I needed to change folder permissions for it to work, all my folder permissions were set as far as I could tell apart from special permissions, so I tried changing that & tried changing to EU again through the accept thing, still no joy, tried changing the launcher to EU then realised my folder had been reduced to just 48Mb, so I've had to redownload the entire game again. Whether this was caused by something I did with the folders or by changing the launcher to EU I'm not sure.

As I was reading your post, this has happened to me :-/

Although looking at it, while it does indeed look like it's downloading the game again, I've not got any indication there is any downloading going on (saying 0.00 KB/s but at 10% downloaded). I would assume it's unpacking and applying the EU server stuff.

*edit* Scratch that, it does indeed seem to be downloading it all again. Bit of a poor show ZoS!

Weird i logged in mine to check, and it asked if i want to switch to EU, i said yes, and it downloaded a small bit of data and then said done. Pressed Check for Update and its happy theres nothing else to download.
 
I did the same, it just downloaded a small update and now it's ready to go.

Run the launcher as admin maybe for people having trouble?
 
Stop the launcher from downloading. Close the launcher.

Copy and paste "The Elder Scrolls Online" into the same directory. You should now have "The Elder Scrolls Online" and "The Elder Scrolls Online - Copy".

Rename "The Elder Scrolls Online - Copy" to "The Elder Scrolls Online EU".

Reload the launcher and your done.
 
I think I've read somewhere, probably on thsi thread, that if you change to EU server, go to where the Elder Scrolls Online folder is an add EU to the end of it so it will read Elder Scrolls Online EU.

Then start the launcher - apparently that's meant to be enough to get it to transfer over without re-downlaoding anything.
 
See I copied the files and moved it into a new folder named The Elder Scrolls Online EU and yet it still wants to download the whole thing again. And with my rubbish connection it won't be ready until Monday!

Give me a minute, I'm looking into it. Its doing the same for me.

EDIT:

Ok i 'think' i've fixed it.

Basically do the copy and paste thing as above. Now when you read the launcher alerts it'll ask you to migrate by creating another folder. Click DECLINE and DECLINE again. Then in the launcher click the top right hand cog wheel and check you have clicked the EU megaserver and it should not need to redownload the client.
