It's been a long day but I'm finally home and it's time to open that box.

So, lift off the invoice and that's a bag of components, move that out of the way and there's some interesting looking bubble wrap and a few ghost bogies.

Remove the ghost bogies and there's a PCB hidden underneath.

Yup, here's the PCB, nestling at the bottom of the box. It's a good solid board and it looks very well made.

This is what we're really interested in - The IN-8-2 Nixie tubes. Very well packaged in bubble wrap. I love vacuum tubes!

I'm sorry the image quality isn't any better but the light in here isn't great with just a couple of little spots diffused off the ceiling.
 
Few more photos for you guys :) Finally got all the nixies in place!! :D In addition to most of the other components. All that's left now is the micro switches, LED's and stuff. All the nixies function correctly too :) Though I did scare myself a bit when I powered it on to check the first nixie, nothing happend, the nixie failed to light up :O .... But then quickly realised in my haste to get it running I forgot to plug the PIC chip back in haha :rolleyes:

Looking good - I'm not taken by those down side up 2s though so I'm happy I went with the IN-8s. I'm sure they're OK once you get used to them but they do look a little odd at first glance.
 
Finished building everything last night. It looks great :) Quite proud of it. Just need to make a case now. If I come up with a nice one, I might make a few to sell and recoup the cost of the clock :P Photos to come soon...
 
He's got one IN-8-2 kit back in stock with tubes here :)

yeah but the thing is i want to build a custom one with some extra features :p

also I'm skint now until i get paid :o

These ones have loads of features! :p
have you read the instruction manual? it has the features list at the end, very nice and comprehensive.
