**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Started to re-do the opening post. If anyone has any suggestions to save time, that would be great.

I plan on including a section for bug fixes/workarounds, and another for post-release articles, as well as overhauling the 'buy' section, and adding some more useful links...

Lol, more moaning.

Not had one bug or crash. Others must be unlucky or it is pebkac.
Google it.

Not had a single bug, trees look amazing, eery and dead.

980Ti and 60fps? Drops below 50 quite often especially during the part where you run to the vault.

You've clearly not played the part where you run to the vault. The colored trees are cardboard cutouts kids make at school. Except paperthin.

My pipboy arrived by courier at last. All installed and ready to play.

My 780 GPU is on driver version 350.12 which is somewhat outdated as I have never needed to update recently.

Would I see a vast improvement by updating the driver to the latest version? I might try playing it on 350.12 and see how it gets on.

I have to confess.

I have two saves now, a proper legit one.

and the other where i set myself to max level to have all perks, went into the developer room and took some nice guns i wanted and upgraded them how i want. oh and made my own power armor
and then went vault hunting

Really bad performing here. Running a 6700k with a fury. Can't seem to get into full screen. Can hear audio but getting just a black screen until I switch to windowed mode then it's fine. I'm barely getting 35 fps from the start of the game at 1440p. I have no issues with with other games. They all run smooth. Gutted :(

I'd certainly add a bug section and include the apparent issue with being stuck after using a terminal, and by locking the frame rate below 100 or enabling v-sync to fix the issue is a big one as a lot of people seem to be suffering from that.

Performance is shockingly bad at 4K. I reduced the detail to low and turned off pretty much everything, but still getting capped at 30FPS and feeling sluggish.

If I decrease res to 1080p and run on ultra, it runs better at 50FPS cap, but looks fugly (maybe I've been spoilt by games that do 4K well).

GTA V was brilliant compared to this :(

Doing things like this ultimately ruins the game for me, If I did that I wouldn't bother playing anymore.
I'll leave it until I've completed the game and see what it's like.

Level 14 now. 70+ places discovered and done nearly 10 minute men missions. Having a blast!

Not 1 crash or bug yet, I must be lucky. Then again I put 10 points in luck so, maybe it's that :p

Avoiding using power armour, will save it until level 25 at least.

Google it.

To busy enjoying the game to do that :)

Done some digging and found the game was limited to 30 fps by default. I changed iPresentInterval=1, to iPresentInterval=0 in the fallout4pref.ini and thank god it sorted the framerate issue for me. Running at 100+ fps now :)
