**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Sooooooo, I'm in a weird place. No main story spoilers, but here is a side mission, any help would be awesome :D

So, I stumbled upon a town full of robots, with a 'director' robot in a tower. I've been to all but one building (biggest building) and still not found an ID card. I can't bluff to him as my charisma isn't high enough. Should I come back or just take him out from afar? I've got a fat man but kind of can't be bothered to take out all the minions as well...

Despite all the shops trying to kill me and me having to kill the demo models, boxer and the bloody cooks lol

Ultimate facepalm... I've messed up my perks, I assumed you had to pick the perk above to unlock the below... Nope, you can pick ones unlocked from the top. Then level up the top perk to unlock the lower ones.

SOOOOOOOOO, I've got about 6 perks wasted right now.

I kept failing at the bluff until eventually it worked....wasn't worth the effort as nothing really happened?

I've been a Fallout fan right from its first inception way back in the day. And so far, I'm loving this. Did anyone else get hairs standing up on the back of their neck during the intro? :D

It's running amazingly smoothly at Ultra settings @1920x1080 on my ancient i7 920 D0 @4.2Ghz with a GTX760 and 16Gb RAM, so very pleased if I'm honest.

Guys question about settlements as i may be being stupid, ill put in spoiler tags as is may include some details about one of the early missions.

So when i started the game i decided to make Red Rocket my main base of operations, as such i spent a load of resources making it into a little home. So now im a few quests in past saving the people in Concorde and now ofc they want to go back to Sanctuary and have me build a base for them there.

Building it isnt so much the problem its more that all my materials are in Red Rocket, is there any quick way to share resources between settlements which im missing? Im guessing im gonna have to split everything in half and carry half of it back to Sanctuary but would be happy to know theres an easier way.

BTW i could never get into Fallout 3 for some reason, but this im enjoying quite a lot. Spent prob 10+ hours and ive still barely got past the first few story missions

Just started the...

Brotherhood quests. Excellent intro, and much better than the main quest! The ship is very cool.

Oh and I've given up on building a settlement. It is just a distraction.

I'm feeling somewhat disappointed in this game so far, I've only put a few hours in so far which may be the issue but i'm finding it a chore to play.

I love the TES series & Skyrim is one of my all time favourite games, but this for some reason doesn't seem to have the same draw.

I'm also finding the visuals pretty boring looking, everything but the AA is cranked up to the max at 1080 but at the side of the likes of GTAV it just looks really old.

Not sure if posted http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...out-4-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide

It's worth a read and most settings will be useful for all camps.

It does go into very good depth explaining some of the gw tech further down the page. There are many gfx settings available via console that are not accessible from the standard gfx options menu.

Note: I understand it was pulled as the guide was not finished/some things are not yet 100% correct, so take all with a pinch. The final version will be back soon*
Hyperlinks don't work you need to scroll.

I'll have to admit, I'm not impressed at all with the visuals/graphics thus far. I'm not sure what I was expecting in game but they don't seem to have moved on much from Fallout 3?

Game looks absolutely stunning for me, though I'm not paying much attention to the graphics as the story is distracting enough. I've had to save and settle down for the day, work in the morning! :(

How can I limit the FPS without using V-Sync? V-Sync just caps it to my monitor refresh rate and when I go indoors the game goes all fast due to the extra FPS.. Want to cap it to something like 75 but no idea how to do that..

MSI AB you can do this.

Or you can do it in CCC or nvidia thing.

Hey guys did anyone update their Nvidia GPU drivers for the realise of Fallout 4? If so did it go all smoothly? Just wondering as I noticed it on the website the pre realise driver.

Hope everyone's enjoying the game! I am, just a bit frustrated with the FPS drop in the first major town you come to. (Sorry can't recall the name but looks almost like a power station)

I haven't got past that point yet but read it's even worse when you get to other major towns or cities.

I'm not the only one with the issue but I'd of assumed my RIG was good enough to keep at 60 fps @ 1440.

Just got here with some settings set to ultra, god rays set to medium along with shadows. Its killing my 780Ti which is overclocked as well!

Applied one of early mods to come out from Nexus. Nice changes and all, but I wonder if removing the frame rate cap is making the odd situation play out too fast, like Codsworth barely finishing a sentence before he starts another, etc. Game is just massively inconsistent with the frame rate. The UI is poor aswell, leaving me to believe what I thought all along.....They pretty much mainly focused on consoles.

I had that problem I just capped fps to 73 in Nvidia Inspector.

I'm playing at 1920x1080 with maxxed everything and I think it looks noticeably better than Fallout 3, particularly with scenery. Not that I care, since I still think FO3 looks fine.

Apart from the map. That's as utter rubbish as the map in FO3, but that's deliberate.

After getting rid of that annoying screen tearing I am finally enjoying the game with 10 hours racked up and I've only discovered 4 or 5 locations :D

I can't understand the negative reviews on steam thus far - half complain its "fallout 3 with another map" and the other half are nagging that its "not the same as the other games" - with the other few outraged that their 970 can't keep up.

What grates me the most though is this "its not next gen" rubbish - whats wrong with current gen?! This game looks just as good to me as Oblivion did on day 1.
