**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

As with FO3 and NV I have ended up with a entire pharmacy worth of drugs in my back pocket and never seem to use them. Does anyone actually use them? I just use stimpacks to heal, but its a massive faff going through the inventory every time there's an enemy to pop some psycho or whatever.

I do the exsct same as normally after using 5-10 you become addicted and that's just a pain, normally just hoarde them or sell them to compensate the ammo prices.

Question - is there a 'hotkey' which lets you take a Stimpack without having to go in through your Pipboy and do it via there? I'm pretty sure I did this earlier but haven't a clue what key I pressed to do it?

Usual favourite system, Q allows you to hotkey any item, As standard '0' is hotkeyed for stimpaks. 'F' will open the favourite menu in game.

I kept failing at the bluff until eventually it worked....wasn't worth the effort as nothing really happened?

I tried maybe 10 times so far. I'll try a few more times, if it doesn't work, I'll come back at a later point.

Or, my other option is to simply blow him and his minions to smithereens. However, I'm not sure the loot is going to be worth it.

Started playing last night, seems OK so far without any glitches and the gameplay seems really good. Can't wait for some graphical mods to come out though - bit disappointed with the graphics!

The settlements will eventually attract people to make:

Food (handy on it's own). Corn + mutfruit (with water) also becomes a stupidly quick/easy source for adhesives. Check the cooking menu, "utility". I'd suggest you try and move settlements over to growing these where you can help it. Adhesives have stopped being a problem for me. Just need a good source for screws now. Anyone spotted a good area? "Robco fan manufacturing" or "deck chairs 'r us" would be appreciated :D

There's a scrap "desk" as well that (I think) once you have more people can have someone assigned to it to find you screws/oil/etc directly. Oh and shops. I think you put down a frame, the "shops" are then just an alternative doorframe. Having easy places to sell bagloads of loot is definitely a positive.

REALLY do recommend turning up to hard, they aren't everywhere but I get about 1 legendary per quest (either encountered while traveling or one of the beasties related to a quest). Had weapons with some rather unique abilities show up my current 10mm has fire causing bullets.

As a suggestion, make one of the settlements "home" and throw all your junk into the crafting stations there (junk is shared by all crafting stations in the same settlement). When you upgrade weapons, keep a full set of the "base" level mods (standard receiver, basic grip etc) so that when you get an uberweapon you can strip all the mods off your current of the same type to rebuild the uber without having to waste screws/adhesives/oils making the base level mods.
I had a 10mm with powerful receiver, ported long barrel, compensator, extended mags and marksman grip (so almost a fully pimped 10mm), then I picked up the 10mm with fire as a bonus. Had to waste about 6 screws+7 adhesives getting all the good parts off my weapon to put on the bonus fire one... kinda annoying.
The basic mods sell for nothing (like 3-9caps) so just keep em in the craft station pool.

Question of my own: anyone where to reliably find a doctor? Had to abuse psycho a bit in the odd place to give the shotgun enough stopping power when I had something (legendary) in my face. Bit of an addiction problem now and less carrying capacity is ALWAYS a pain in the butt.

Also anyone starting out try to play on the hardest settings you can stand for more of a challenge. Hard or preferably Very Hard makes it much more difficult to just wade in shooting.

I'm going to use the power armour sparingly too.

Did both of these. The power armour is still hung up in the garage at sanctuary. Did end up using all the early minigun ammo up though on the odd "oh ****!" moments with legendary beasties.

Played for ages last night and I must say I am enjoying this game!

Had a few texture bugs at Thicket Excavations (like all of it) and a doorway in the Robotics Disposal Ground... I'm sure that will get patched up though.

Not had any other problems thankfully :)

Performance is crap at 1440p.

MSI 980 Ti Twin Frozr V
4790K @ 4.4
8GB ram.

Screens taken right out the vault. (Note that GPU usage doe)

Got my first few hours last night and loving it have had no framer rate issues at all constant 60fps inside and out with my 780ti max usage of 60% so happy with that have had the odd crash here and there as it says driver has stopped responding. If it keeps doing it may roll back drivers. On the whole happy with it. Just finished at concord and headed back to sanctuary. So not far in at all.

Not really happy with how this is performing on my system @ 1080p

i7 4790k @ 4.7GHz
290x @ 1140/1580
16gb ddr3 @ 2400MHz

Drops into the 30s are fairly common, and drops into the high 20s happen every now and then.

That's why.... AMD are really struggling in the game at the moment, wait for a patch :)

What settings though? I use Ultra everything and set God rays to low as there is literally no difference your retina can see when they are any higher than that.

Settings Ultra.
Motionblur Off.
Godrays Low.
Shadow Distance High.

Tried with TAA off aswell, holy moly the game looks like a pixelated mess without that.

Awesome! Thanks, I'll try and get something done then.

What level are you and how many hours? I'm 8 hours in, level 9.

In your pip boy menu hover over the stimpak select it as a favourite and it will ask you which to key to assign it to. you have 13 slots I think.

Thank god patch fixed my crashes. Decided to just switch off fraps and just play the game instead of ****ing around with settings, that's the advantage console games have, you actually can just play the game without worrying your missing out on something.

There is a doctor at diamond city. 75 caps to cure addiction.

You are missing out on something, you just can't do anything about it. Which for me would drive me more nuts then actually having to spend time messing about on the PC.

But yeah to add to the current list, running on a single 980ti @ 1440p with everything bar God Rays on high I'm getting a fairly solid 70+ fps.

I got SLI to run, made it worse :D
