Disabled VSYNC in INI
Using MSI Afterburner frame rate limiter to 60

Tried that, it works but you get a lot more tearing this way vs the framerate being around 90+.

Looks pretty bad, you can get used to it of course.

What level are you and how many hours? I'm 8 hours in, level 9.

Pass on hours, probably... 13-15. I activated early (Oz VPN) but didn't get time to play much on first day. I'm level 12 though. Spent some time getting my head around the crafting systems etc as best I could (still hazy on some points).

1 thing that IS irritating is that for weapons crafting, there's no way to show that you have a fully built mod available for a slot. E.g: if you take a hardened receiver off a pipe revolver, go over to another pipe revolver and look at the available list of receiver mods, it still shows the mats needed for the hardened, there's no clue on screen you have the mod.

It works when you're out of resources and while you can't build one needing 2 screws you suddenly CAN apply a mod needing a big shopping list of parts so you obviously already have one built but otherwise - no tick/similar showing you have a mod "in stock".

Doing the same as other fallout games at the moment and avoiding the big city a bit so I see plenty of side quests before tackling the meat of the plot driven ones

Yeah, I rolled a bit low intelligence on the special so will be a while before I get to tap that one sadly

High dex and the gun fu skill (forget the name, more damage after first target) is pretty sick though. 1 shot at anything in VATS then switch to another target for +50% damage (2nd point in it ). Been gaming that quite aggressively as it stacks (so something like 10mm pistol which can fire lots of shots cheaply is excellent. 28 damage on the first shot, 42 damage with the second, switch to the 3rd target and each subsequent shot is 56 damage (which is "decent sniper" levels atm). The crit special is powered up too).

Will see if I can find anything for a little more INT

Thank god patch fixed my crashes. Decided to just switch off fraps and just play the game instead of ****ing around with settings, that's the advantage console games have, you actually can just play the game without worrying your missing out on something.

But you are missing out on something, a rather big something that make consoles far far inferior....

That's why.... AMD are really struggling in the game at the moment, wait for a patch

I must be the only happy AMD gamer here, my 280x OC and [email protected] are doing ok on ultra settings(game auto set to ultra) at 1080p, fraps reports 60 fps, seen it dip to 45 or so.

However I've not even lowered any settings yet like god rays etc...

Really impressed how smooth it is to be honest, no crashes so far.

Yup, I've been storing them pretty religiously, selling them for single digit caps when buying an item for a (desperately wanted) single screw is at least 10caps made that pretty easy to decide Needs something in the build UI to show you have one made though, for sure.

I'm on the fence with graphics. But then, I never really liked stock Skyrim, especially after playing it heavily modified. The thing with FO4 though, is the lack of shadows. I was walking through a wreckage and I turned on my pipboy light, and every thing was bright and flat, with zero shadows. It looked more like a cartoon - I was very underwhelmed.

Annoyingly, this game just wants me upgrade my GPU but I shouldn't have to. Everything is on a mix of high/ultra, except for shadows (medium) and God Rays (low). Distance sliders are all 75%+. I get 55+ (Vsync on) outdoors, but as soon as I go indoors (where, frustratingly, the graphics are far worse) I get 25-40 FPS.

I'm using the FA3 compatibility bit in nVidia Inspector, AFR2 and am running the game at 1080P, with the latest drivers. It's a fairly fresh W10 install also so I'm a bit disappointed I'm not getting a consistent, stutter free 60FPS experience

You can only scrap a completely ruined building. Red rockets doesn't count as it's still standing.

For a quick practice, try the ones at sanctuary. The ones there you can't walk in can be scrapped for a nice clean building space.
