**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I am really on the fence with this seeing everyones opinions opinion is very much marmite lol

from my experience i really enjoyed fallout 3 but the over reliance of that slow motion system griped and ruined the experience for me

fallout NV - i couldnt get into from the off i am not sure why perhaps because i liked the intro on FO3? and the first time exiting the vault when getting blinded by light and looking at the wasteland found it very immersive, can that feeling be replicated on fallout 4?

thanks :)

I never really liked NV either, loved FO3 though.. I think because Bethesda didn't develop NV it was sort of different.

Couple of questions

How do you hang your robot armour on it's crane?
How do you repair it?
Where do I find some-one to trade with?

You can't attach the armour to the crane, I just exited the armour in front of it.
When you've done the above, the option appears to repair it.
Plenty of people out there to trade with.

That exit from the vault in FO3 is one of my favourite gaming moments of all time. I was so excited at the prospect of exploring all before me.

This has a very similar moment, however you can never have that 'first time' again so, for me, the effect was greatly lessened.

What the hell. Apparently I'm in a relationship a gay relationship. Don't know how it happened as wasn't paying attention at the time I might of flirted with high charisma. Got extra perk tho

I think it's worth buying. Sure, the graphics aren't up to Witcher 3 (what game is currently) but it has its moments.
Yes the dialogue has been dumbed down and again, the quests aren't a patch on Witcher 3, but I'm still enjoying the game.
It will get better, as with most Bethseda titles, when mods get released.

I just hope for the next Fallout that this ageing engine gets dumped and replaced with one more befitting the times.

I'm hoping this happens to me, as I'm playing a female character. No way do I want to be staring at a guys butt during VATS :p

But in the pics it's hanging ready to be used :p

Just place it near the crane and it will auto fit

When I exit near the crane it doesn't do anything, my chappy just gets out.

Good plan :D

I wish I had picked the 34" ultrawide monitor Ive been looking at before I started this as I really want one and the vistas in this game would be perfect to get wrapped up in

From 1.2 million steam sales 3800 negative reviews is a rather small percentage

You could argue that only 13k positive is also poor on 1.2m sales.

I'm enjoying the game, but I'm very much looking forward to the serious modding to start. Once F4 as the mod base that F3 and Skyrim have it'll be amazing. Can't wait to see some good ENB presets to bring in some proper shadows etc. Texture mods are a must and if skills could be brought back it would be mint.

What I'd LOVE is a MISERY (STALKER CoP) mod for F4 :D

Dogmeat can unlock that cabinet, so no need to wait.

How do you get your dog to unlock the cabinet?

I'm really enjoying this so far. I'm only 5 hours in so I suppose still early days.

My only criticisms are that the graphics are pretty average. However I think this is because I'm playing on Ultra at 1080p. Everyone that plays at a higher res seems to think the graphics are good.

I also think the UI is quite "consoley" but I can live with both and still really enjoy the game.
