**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I had a great session last night. Played for hours without a hitch. Flawless and beautiful performance. Had lots of fun and it felt all the better that I didn't need a Ti or Titan.

I'm off to stomp around corvega again. Smooth

Why dont you take a screenshot looking down into the town like in my screenshot?

Perhaps you're one of those that cant tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps so no sheet your experience is "smooth".
Been plenty of dips in performance for me since I booted it up.

I'll never understand people's insistence in not doing the main quest in Bethesda games(and of course having to let everyone know they aren't doing it). I always find it better to do it straight away and then save the exploring until after, or at least mix it up. It sends you all over the world, you meet important character, you get unique items and stuff, it unlocks new features, it makes more sense.

Also, every game features a natural break in the narrative where just wandering around doing side quests is basically the main quest. I find it best to just wait until then.
I've found that doing the main quest can lead to difficulty with level and getting owned on the quest or getting to it. I build a few levels up first and get familiar with the ui, controls, crafting, but by then I've caught the explorers/scavengers bug and end up going in all directions away from the main quest.

Would be nice if Google Drive allowed downloading the files.. I can just browse them not download.

Oh god, he's going after Google now.

Oh sorry for misunderstanding your continued rant.
Was just trying to be helpful ;)
I am playing the game, and enjoying it, GFX aside, not having a high end system I am playing at 1920*1200, and thankfully haven't encountered the issues you are having, I assume it is due to things defaulting to medium.
So I'll live with it, as I wanted to play the game, rather than watch the screenshots and framerates.
I hope you gain as much entertainment from ranting about poor GFX performance of consoles and your individual machine, as I do from playing the game.

Unlike you I dont enjoy playing games below 60fps because its not smooth, and I sure as hell dont want my games looking like it came out 5 years ago while demanding a SLI rig to run it at 60 fps.

Let's keep it on topic everyone.

No need to have a go at JamesMay. Though I do think you could benefit from calming down and improving your manner of posting, James.

Because you'll ignore it and carry on ranting

Ignore it? Uhh, what?
I Love these fanboys who are aware of the issues yet try to sweep them under the rug. Rather than proving the "haters" (critics) wrong by posting proper screenshots on the same settings showing the same location with >60fps, they choose to rant against the "hater" (critic) instead.

So far only one person has posted a Screenshot and its not even facing the town, its facing a DISTANT town, a completely different one. At night even so there are no shadows.

You're weren't asking us to prove 60fps, you were ranting about getting 27fps. Don't move the goal posts, and take heed of Frenchtarts advice

i am trying to spend time learning the crafting and weapon addon aspect of the game, seems like it could have good potential - when I can find the raw materials...!

Do you have a Google account? I'm signed in to Google and when I click on a file a download link appears in the middle of the top bar.
No account and I shouldnt need one.
Black bar has only a vertical : icon that has "information" in it.

I were asking you to prove the performance was "fine" I.e. not 30 fps.

But then again that seems to be what you consider "smooth".

A 980 Ti shouldnt be put down on its knees in a game that looks like a modded Fallout 3.

It seems likely that you do in fact need one to download these files. Whether or not you agree with that need as being appropriate doesn't really matter in terms of resolving your problem with downloading them.

edit: Perhaps I'm wrong, based on docsonic's post below.

Anybody else having issues loading a save?

Restarted the game once over because a save was corrupt, now I just seem to get stuck on the loading screen. Text continues to cycle through and the picture spins still, just nothing actually loads...

EDIT: just tried to load a previous version, now all my most recent saves have vanished.... :/

EDIT2: Reloading the game seems to have made my saves re-appear, still can't load them though lol

I'm near the end of the main quest now. I have enjoyed the game immensely, and on an entertainment factor it would be a 9/10, but reviewing it objectively I couldn't give it higher than a 7 as 2 points would have to come off for the dumbing down of rpg features from previous games and the general performance and optimisation /bugs(not that I have had any)
