**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Oh another thing I wanted to check others' experience on - randomly crashing to desktop. Seems to happen "frequently" as in at least once an hour. Once an hour isn't much but when you have to keep pressing f5 every 2 mins because you don't want to randomly lose a load of progress, it's becoming a bit tedious.

~20 hours of play. No CTD. No problems of any kind, which is a surprise. I was expected some bugginess. I haven't even had NPCs with their heads through walls or other graphical bugs.

Win7, latest AMD drivers (FO4 crashed to desktop a few seconds into the loading screen video before I updated the graphics drivers). My CPU (Core 2 quad 6600) is overclocked by 33% and my graphics card (Radeon 7950) is sort of overclocked too (clocks are stock, but power drawn is at +20% and that increased performance a great deal). Game settings are on the default autosetting, which is ultra for everything.

I'm not sure It's possible to get on anyone's bad side (companions) based on choices you make at that stage of the game, unless you start murdering people which I guess is a choice, also steeling his stuff will have the same affect. Maybe he took something before he left and didn't release Virgil spotted him. :D .

I have 2 saves at that point of of which involved a shotgun to the face as the answer it didn't end well :), Still was a crucial point definitely worth a quicksave :)

Had a very quick blast with the settlement crafting over lunch. Planted a generator, some lights, but ran out of supplies before I could make enough conduits etc. Whilst it isn't terrible, it's clunky and there is no easy documentation to describe what all the different parts do and how do use them. I do love scrapping things and using the resources to make things. Totally forgot I had a load of bits in sanctuary's workbench so just in the process of transferring them across to red rocket :D

Next plan is to grow some plants outside so I can have a nice supply of adhesives etc.

Getting really sick of the dialogue system now. It gets worse the further in the game you are. I had an optional quest of telling the leader of the Brotherhood something. I just walked near him and the main character told him it and basically had a conversation with with him with absolutely no input from me. I didn't even press talk.

by activate do you mean start?

I did a few things around the place, gave blood to the doctor, found that girls cat, spoke to the jet addict in the basement, hacked a few terminals to read what was going down

Then I overheard people talking about the boy getting ill, and had a mission to talk to the doctor and that started the mission.

Yeah. Ive done all those things but im yet to hear anything about the boy. Maybe i need to wait a bit?

I had the same - little bugger was hiding in a kennel which I didn't knew existed (yellow building, truck outside, building has caved in roof. Turn left out of your old house front door, follow street, last house on the left, out back is a dog kennel, he goes in there).

Is it possible to get him to move? I don't want to have him with me, but I'd prefer him to return to live with the people in Sanctuary (since he lived with them before) rather than in an abandoned kennel on the edge of Sanctuary.

Could anyone tell me if you can put together new suits of Power Armour from the bits you get from killing enemies? At the moment I have the suit you get very early in the game with the Minutemen and I've since found a bunch of individual parts that can only be used if you're already in Power Armour.

Thanks

Well I certainly don't want to join some of the earlier hate, and I am enjoying the game, but definitely disappointed with the graphics in terms of performance. I don't mind that its not up there with recent titles in terms of quality, but the fact that performance is worse as well is disappointing.

Aside from the odd occasion I can get pretty much a solid 60fps in Witcher3, but with this it can often drop into the 20s and 30s. Initially I thought it was only occasionally but as I head into built up areas its getting much more frequent. What is really odd though is that when it does happen my GPU and CPU are both only at around 50%.

Yes.....just go into workshop mode and move the kennel to wherever you want him to be.

In terms of both performance and graphics, i'm not sure what people were expecting given the engine it uses, it's not very efficient and we know this from Skyrim. They've just added on top of it then bolted on some nVdia stuff.

Nothing will change drastically, but there will no doubt be some performance patches and drivers.

The Intimidation perk is pretty good. Could go a bit further though. They just stand there with their hands up as fighting goes on around them. One for modders I imagine.
