**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Oh another thing I wanted to check others' experience on - randomly crashing to desktop. Seems to happen "frequently" as in at least once an hour. Once an hour isn't much but when you have to keep pressing f5 every 2 mins because you don't want to randomly lose a load of progress, it's becoming a bit tedious.

Not 1 crash here 24 hours+ in.

Have you made any edits to the *.ini files or have a sweetfx profile loaded? I had some issues with CTD's when I did both of these things.

I reverted the game back to stock and now I am just making 1 change at a time, so far I've not had any issues (not installed a sweetfx profile yet though)

Only change was to make the uGrids setting a little higher because I have a system capable of it and I had read that the distant textures looked pretty crappy.

Maybe I'll just lower that again, but would rather not.

If you lower it again, simply by editing the ini file, your saves will eventually break.

However, the npc voices are bugging me. It'll sound like they are right next to me, but they're through concrete walls or in the floors above/below. Makes finding them a nightmare in complex buildings, and breaks the immersion somewhat.

Yeah this was annoying me last night when I was playing, I was in a building and it was really difficult to work out where the voices were coming from.

Guess I'll just keep playing with what I have until it becomes unbearable then start a new char. I'm a habitual restarter anyway. Must have played the first 20% of Skyrim a hundred times. Completed Dragonborn once ..

Unfortunately, this is all too common in games. I hope something substantial comes from AMD's TrueAudio.

Half of the main character's beard has now disappeared in my game

Maybe an issue with your shave file.

Oh that's bad! :D

Yes I've had quite a few CTDs. It seemed less frequent after I switched off the steam overlay, but I still get them occasionally.

Music: Great, very fitting.
Ambience: Excellent, immersive
Voice actors: Good, none of them annoy me.
Sound FX: Great, gun noises and explosions, pretty sweet.

Yeah the distant gunshots sound great.

I really can't wait for modding to properly take off though, although I can't help but feel like I'm waiting for mods to fix the game.

I suppose it depends what choices you made with the institute I found virgils notes but not the serum still looking for that

I'm not sure It's possible to get on anyone's bad side (companions) based on choices you make at that stage of the game, unless you start murdering people which I guess is a choice, also steeling his stuff will have the same affect. Maybe he took something before he left and didn't release Virgil spotted him. :D .
