**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Problem is this new settlement system is making me even more of a pack rat, I'm constantly over-encumbered. Despite having worked my strength and strong back perks up.

If you're using Dogmeat, the Lone Wanderer perk still works. This gives you an extra 50 inventory space at rank 1, then 100 at rank 2.

I would love to use other companions but as a pack rat myself I can't abide losing that inventory space now :(

I suppose it depends what choices you made with the institute I found virgils notes but not the serum still looking for that

Little help for finding it.

Its in the bio area, you've got to go all the way past the mutants in the VATS and just before the exit back to the main bio room there it's in there.

That may work but I really take issue with gimping my fps below what it could be. I wasn't getting 100fps so was happy to limit it to that. Not going any lower, I'll just have to deal with the terms :D

It's the only way I can get the terminals to behave. I get a lot more than 60 fps when not capped but the terminal issue comes back. I could run it a lot higher but that bug just pulls me out of the game and gets annoying after a while so gimping the fps to make the engine behave has been the way I had to go.

I didn't know I could use T to drop all my junk in the workbench :o.

Of course I use Dogmeat as a pack mule I always used companions as pack mules, especially in New Vegas :D ( Loved being able to have 2). But also in Skyrim.

How do I get more people in my settlement btw ? I have a powered radio beacon, enough food, beds, water, power, defence... What can I do to make them shag each other and make babies :) ?

This was the same with Skyrim. Instead of increasing mob numbers, or making them smarter they simply increase the HP of the existing mobs. They just turn them into ammo sponges as you say. :)

It kind of kills immersion when you head shot a human with a high powered weapon, see them drop 20% of health and say "ouch who did that?".

:D

Agreed. And it further skews things in favour of hard hitting, single shot weapons like shotguns and snipers as they're the only things that do one-shot mobs. All the other guns stopped getting a look in. I think hard is the sweet spot a the mo - all though that might change!

How is everyone finding the audio?
I think the music is brilliant as always and I'm hearing some of the old classics in a totally new way. Atom Bomb Baby is my fav atm, and I love that they've brought in the second part of Butcher Pete. Worry Worry Worry comes in a close second

However, the npc voices are bugging me. It'll sound like they are right next to me, but they're through concrete walls or in the floors above/below. Makes finding them a nightmare in complex buildings, and breaks the immersion somewhat.

I absolutely hate the presenter of Diamond City Radio :(.
I miss Three Dog: Oww!!

So far none of the songs except the old ones really caught my attention, listened to both Classic and Diamond City radio. Only ''Ride of the Valkyries'' caught my mind, just as I was mauling people with a minigun in power armor :D.

Does doing this also make the junk available for other stations like the weapon and armor ones? I've not really touched crafting much yet.. unless I skipped the tutorial somehow it's not really been explained very well.

No idea, I'll try it when I can, don't have to much free time today, stuck at the office till 6pm and promised mates to go to the gym today :(.

Bah, at first I didn't really like the game but after a long 6 hr session yesterday I just wanna go home and play :o.

Anyone been to vault 81 yet? I cant get the hole in the wall mission to activate?

by activate do you mean start?

I did a few things around the place, gave blood to the doctor, found that girls cat, spoke to the jet addict in the basement, hacked a few terminals to read what was going down

Then I overheard people talking about the boy getting ill, and had a mission to talk to the doctor and that started the mission.

With supply lines does this make the workbench have the same items between all settlements linked?

My understanding is that to have your benches linked (so that your gear is there regardless of which settlement's bench you access), you need a tradesmen perk and a settler to fulfill the role of a trader. I'm not at that point there so it's likely I've misunderstood how it works.

Diamond city market.

What difficulty are people playing on? I've left it on default, wondering if I should go up a notch. I'm buried in ammo, over 1000 of some, and that's with killing everything I find.

yeah i've noticed it's gone from finding 3-10 ammo, to finding 40+ ammo.

Oh another thing I wanted to check others' experience on - randomly crashing to desktop. Seems to happen "frequently" as in at least once an hour. Once an hour isn't much but when you have to keep pressing f5 every 2 mins because you don't want to randomly lose a load of progress, it's becoming a bit tedious.

Just had my first crash to desktop after five hours play. Though not 5 hours continuous as I have spent most of that time tweaking stuff.
