I've not got to diamond city yet, but I've pretty much done everything in the top left quarter of the map.

Spoilers:
Came across my first synths last night and got some nice institute issue laser weaponry.
Have come across several legendary enemies so far, but last night's session ended when I got stomped my a legendary bot fly :D
 
I've come across a legendary ghouls which were a pain... but the legendary super mutants just owned me. So annoying when they mutate and get full health again! Had to bravely run away multiple times.
 
I've only come across 2 supermutants so far, used a huge amount of ammo on them to find they had practically no loot at all. Then got done by a legendary mr rusty which was following them :(
 
Mysterious Stranger is the best perk. Legendary Mirelurk, I fire a few shots at it in VATS and take off what must have been 3% of its life. Mystery Man comes and just oneshots it.

That'll do pig. That'll do.
 
I'm playing on Normal (yes, I know), and just hit level 10. Haven't found any of the legendary behemoths - I thought they always spawned at specific locations? (i.e. near the trailer park with the bears).

Yeah. A single 670 cant cope. With two (using AFR2 and a compatibility bit) Im not getting steady FPS. It is like 55-60, then I turn and look at a bush, it's 22. I look another way, it's bacl up to 55+, then will drop to 40s, or 30s, or whatever it likes seemingly randomly. Settings are mixture of high/ultra, but with rays on low. Turned AA from TAA to FXAA and the performance is more or less the same, but with a far worse visual experience...

Is it possible you are hitting your cards 2gb limit, or at least getting close? I'm finding the game uses a lot of memory. That would hurt your fps.

Sorry I should have said. Yes, I'm getting near 100% VRAM usage. I just didn't expect it to hurt FPS THAT much :(

I can see me ordering a 9 series card for myself for Xmas...

Yeah I'm using The Castle too. I used the shack foundation to make fresh walls as they can clip through the broken ones so you can make it flat. I used them inside too and just used ladders to the entrance which made larger buildings possible on flat ground.

Not seen a behemoth yet, seen a ton of legendary super mutants though.

Yeah the same happens in Skyrim, expecially with ENBs. It's just a real shame that Stock Dx10 F4 performs worse than heavily modded Skyrim...

Really want a 970 or a 980Ti. Just not sure I can justify such a large expense with bills and xmas coming up...

970 or 980Ti? That's a bit broad. One is really high end and one is just above mid range.

Yeah the 970 would probably suffice and can be had for ~£70 after selling my current cards. Woud give less power but more VRAM. 980Ti is just a beast, nothing more to say, but it's £500+. The 980 isn't really that much less than the Ti so it's not really worth considering...

Not interested in AMD cards.
 
980 is fine if you can find a good price for one. I believe some of the memory on a 970 is crippled so it doesn't perform as well as it is advertised.

There is a console command to change your sex and then another to bring up the player looks edit menu.

press the @ key to bring the dev console up I believe and I think it is something like:

player.sexchange
showlooksmenu 14
