**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Just bought Fallout 4 and the season pass because it was on sale and I love Bethesda RPGs and was just wondering has all of the DLC that is covered by the season pass been released? Or is there more to come? I don't mind if that is all there is I really just want to know one way or the other.

So ive just fired this up tonight guys after buying it in the steam sale. Jeez it seems to be hard to run. My FPS seem to be decent enough but its not the smoothest of games going. Maybe ill have to wait till i upgrade my GPU. Any tips or tweeks guys to make it run abit more smoother?

The ongoing issue, as I've mentioned before, is the insane loading time between indoor and outdoor scenes or even within the same location (National Guard Armoury, I'm looking at you).

In other news I got bored with my current playthrough so decided to start another one as a low INT1 character. Combine that with Idiot Savant which you can get L2 fairly quickly with enough points in luck and the XP procs come thick and fast. So long as you can live without Gun Nut and Science early to mid game and rely on melee - I took 9 points in strength and travelled to Diamond City almost straight away to get Rockville Slugger - it's an interesting build. Now working on Agility so I can get Blitz which combined with Rooted and a couple of other perks turns you into a tank by ~Lvl25. The only caveat with this build is that you need a couple of points in Perception and a couple of guns to deal with turrets and SM suiciders. But otherwise having fun and the level ups are coming so fast it doesn't matter if you accidentally dump a point in the wrong stat or perk.

Re GOTYE

$64k question (two actually).

Given I already own the main title and 4 of the DLC's will there be a discount for existing owners?

Will existing save games 9and mods) be compatible or will we have to start again? Much as I like the early game period, the thought of all that grinding to get up to a reasonable level is a bit off putting.

Don't think so, no

it should be, don't see why it wouldn't

My understanding is that this is down to Bethesda changing the way cells loaded, and in particular, the graphics for them. And yes, it's insanely annoying. In the space of one update it went from a small number of seconds to a small number of minutes - at least once it took ten minutes. And it seems to be all cells, but less obvious for interior ones because there's less to load. I'm told it is at least partly dependant on how much load your character is carrying. Which is a tad odd to say the least.

Also, does The Island ever get proper daylight? I'm never seen such miserable weather and I live in Manchester.

Me and a few of my friends just got this in the recent GMG sale with the season pass for around £30 each

We are now upset they're gonna release it all in one, what will probably be cheaper bundle ._.

Having problems getting FO4 running.

No sound in the menu and stuck on loading screen when clicking "new game".

Rig; 7700k, 16gb, 1080ti.

No mods installed, just official high res texture pack and all expansions.

Has the hi-res pack installed? I had similar issue a couple of days ago after deciding to install it. Turned out Steam had stalled as requires a 55Gb spare HD space while it updates everything and I only had about 45Gb spare on the E drive. Once I moved a few files to the C drive I was able to re-trigger the install, FO4 updated (takes about 90 mins) and game started okay. Though the performance drag installing the hi-res probably wasn't worth it.

tl:dr It seems just the process of selecting to download the hi res pack stops FO4 from running until it has completed the install.

Thanks for the suggestion but have plenty of space free.

Managed to get it working again by downloading a save game file from Nexus.

Uninstalled this last night after squeezing 200+ hours out of it since release. Enjoyed it, well worth the money, but not a patch on New Vegas.

I need to finish Far Harbor and Nuka World still!

I still love both those DLC, probably better than the original game. The Nuka world campaign is nearly as long as the main plot, if you chose to run straight through the latter. The only section I dislike in Far Harbor is the memory retrieval for DiMA - well the first three are okay but last playthrough I consoled in the completion of the last two stages. Too much time spent not really earning any XP.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna play through Rise of the Tomb Raider then finish it all.
