**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Do you ever do anything other than whinge and moan about things?

Sure, however do you wish me to post this looks amazing, it will be the best thing ever, there will be no faults? The Witcher 3 was a downgrade and I was right about that, but it's still a beautiful game.

Everything I've seen so far is as if the devs were lazy for Consoles... Same engine * Tweaked *, worse talk options, no sign of distant textures in the screenshots, awful character detail and the last bit I saw was someone walking from one end of the map to the other in 11 mins.

Sure it still may be a great game, but beth sure now how to TWEAK and resell their games

I don't want you to say anything in particular, but you keep posting the same thing over and over again whilst whinging about this or that. It's extremely tedious.

I'll give you the talk options, they do look worse in my opinion but i'm still going to enjoy the game. Graphically i think it looks fine, its nothing groundbreaking but it still looks good visually.

So is your constant excitement posting, but you don't see me whinging about that ;)

Everything I have said is exactly as it looks at this current time, the engine might be great for modding, but it's awful for everything else. I do wonder though, will we have a loading screen for every village?

I'll enjoy it too, never said I wouldn't as I've said before.

Hmmm think I might actually play the game before I make my mind up, not decided over some compressed images.

Games I have liked and thought were good : Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Skyrim.

Based on that I think theres a good chance I might like this and it might be good.

Not sure what to do with this, think I might wait for a while.

I jumped straight in at NV and spent ages and ages playing that and loved it, so I then tried FO3 when it was on offer silly cheap and didn't get on with it, in fact it's gathering dust in my steam library barely played but I can't put my finger on why.

Talk options are subjective. Calling devs 'lazy' is just about always an ignorant assessment. And 'distant textures' still makes no sense as almost every game reduces texture quality at a distance.

There's a whole heap of improvements they've made, even if it is the same engine. Calling it 'tweaks' is a completely exaggerated argument. Does it look like The Witcher 3? No. Does it still look miles better than their previous games? Yes.

Saw that one, and it was about 11mins :(
Wish the quality was better, but yeah thats the one.

The map is said to be about the same size as Skyrim just "without the phony mountains" according to Todd Howard. He could simply mean theres more verticality or something but.. it feels small to me.

I have the game preorder on physical disc along with season pass. But I dont know if I should keep it or maybe "demo" it for a while.. and then buy it later on.

Only a few more days...Basically got my system how it is today for this (well 4k screen and 980ti)haha!

Will you be installing on SSD? I will, and I think ill also put mods on there too unless they get silly big. Think Ill be fine though!

Ummm, you can 'complete' Fallout 3 in 20 minutes....or less than 90 without glitches.

I don't think that's really a valid complaint. The game is as long as you make it.

Haha I seen the speedrun, even without glitches requires in-depth knowledge of the game so a first time player would not be able to it.

Some pre-order info from cdkeys on Facebook for those that have an order with them:

Pre-order keys are normally delivered 24-48 hours before the official release date. Moreover, we'll send notifications via email once the product keys are available.

There's a chance that the map is intentionally small (half the size of FO3) because they're pushing DLC.

It'd be a dick move from Bethesda and I can kinda see it happening with the mod monetisation thing. I hope not, but we'll see.

It'd take the shine off, but I've paid £22 for a copy so I'm not too fussed.

I get that gameplay and story are more important than graphics, but graphics certainly add to the experience, and I'm not sure why everyone is always shocked when people demand decent graphics, I mean a lot of people here spend a lot of money on hardware for this very reason, plus based on the recommended specs you should surely expect something fairly decent.

But really, much of the debate over the last few days is pointless until we actually get our hands on the game and see how it looks, and more importantly plays. I think the most worrying thing I've read at the moment is the map size, of true.
