**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I get that gameplay and story are more important than graphics, but graphics certainly add to the experience, and I'm not sure why everyone is always shocked when people demand decent graphics, I mean a lot of people here spend a lot of money on hardware for this very reason, plus based on the recommended specs you should surely expect something fairly decent.

But really, much of the debate over the last few days is pointless until we actually get our hands on the game and see how it looks, and more importantly plays. I think the most worrying thing I've read at the moment is the map size, of true.

The graphics are more than decent. People are just whinging because they're miserable gits who will never be pleased.

There's a chance that the map is intentionally small (half the size of FO3) because they're pushing DLC.

It'd be a dick move from Bethesda and I can kinda see it happening with the mod monetisation thing. I hope not, but we'll see.

It'd take the shine off, but I've paid £22 for a copy so I'm not too fussed.

I just can't see that being the case and after every other Bethesda game, it would be a serious shock of the game world was small.

Some pre-order info from cdkeys on Facebook for those that have an order with them:

Pre-order keys are normally delivered 24-48 hours before the official release date. Moreover, we'll send notifications via email once the product keys are available.

Fingers crossed they are quick at getting them out!

Lol who cares about gameplay these days, it's all about dem sweet graphics. Every new game thread is turned into a benchmark talk and the majority of the players talk about how many fps they are getting on their tri-SLI Titans with zero feedback regarding the gameplay/story/overall experience.

Probably the reason most games are garbage these days.

Nah. There's legitimate complaints to be made about the graphics.

I'm not a fussy person at all and I can still enjoy a terrible looking game just fine, but I can also separate my enjoyment from my objective visual analysis of something.

Basically, you can be

a) somebody who loves nice graphics

b) somebody who loves great RPG gameplay

and

c) somebody who thinks Fallout 4 looks subpar

all at once.

That and why should game devs care when their hard work is shredded based on the viewings of some leaked footage. The tiniest of negativity is amplified by 10,000 just because they can.

I miss the days where you waited months for nuggets of information in a magazine about GTA SA. Even then most of it wasn't true :D

But that's the world we live in now fast food fast films and fast games aslong as they look pleasing it doesn't matter. You get your game time out of the multiplayer right?

People should just wait for it to come out and let those that are excited be excited. :) If they get all hyped and end up deflated it's a life lesson we all have to learn.

or

d) someone who would rather make comments based on GIF's and low quality screenshots before any kind of release.

If it 'looks like crap' and I mean actually poor then I'll agree, I think its daft declaring how bad it looks now, may aswell never play any games if thats the opinion.

Ummm, you can 'complete' Fallout 3 in 20 minutes....or less than 90 without glitches.

I don't think that's really a valid complaint. The game is as long as you make it.
"as long as you make it" Well thats kind of a problem. You cant make a Main Story last longer. Unless you: Put it on hold, but that doesnt make it longer, still. Its still ~4h.
You could say Call of Duty, lasts longer, if you just Crouch everywhere and look at things for several minutes.

Judging by people who have played it for a couple days now, it seems to lack content compared to previous games.

That must be some kind of starter area surely, it cant possibly be that small?

Good to see the most recent screenshots looking better.

Its not the "starter area" Its the full map.

Seems the Story is also a carbon copy of Fallout 3?
Find your dad.

What do you guys recon the chances of GAME sending Fo4 early and it arriving on Monday ready for Tuesday launch?

I'm not sure what day to take off work, Tuesday or Wednesday :p

These arrived for me today.

I may have Pip boy edition tomorrow - missed a delivery today and its the only thing I have due to be delivered.
Might have been the above Lynn

Just checked the packaging and it seems my laptop won't play it. Its a core I7 running at 2.8ghz with 8gb ram and a 1 gb graphics card. Trouble is the card is GT525 and the minimum req is GTX550. I'm tempted to buy as I "hear" that there is a refund policy dependant on game time and time limit since sale but that's news to me. I thought my laptop spec gave me a bit of future proofing but maybe not. Don't want to buy a PS4 or XB1 so only solution would be to spec and build a desktop? Any thoughts?

Define "sub par" in this context, as objectively based on thr poor quality images and videos that have leaked, it looks visually better than the mean visual fidelity of games.
