Wow! In the last few hours of play I must have witnessed about four vertibird crashes - one of them wasn't even under attack, it just crashed into the overpass
I saw one brought down by pipe pistol fire too...
Institute has plans and ability to provide good futures for all.
Some of the companion logic is a bit warped...
Take Strong around and visit Cambridge Police Station or even the Prydwen and none of these hard-nut BoS troopers bat an eyelid at a super-mutant (sworn enemy) in the heart of their stronghold.
Conversely, lug Danse around with you into the Railroad HQ and although we know laterhe doesn't exactly start guns blazing at the synth sympathisers from his BoS leanings.he is a synth himself
I know it's probably too much to expect dialogue and reaction to every possible situation, but at least there could have been a "xxx can't follow you there", which I'm sure existed in FO3, NV or Skyrim which eliminates any obvious conflict of meetings between the various factions.
But they kidnapped your son, murdered your partner and as denoted during the various questscontinue to abduct and murder people with full blessing of "Father" aka your son Shaun. They have the means at their disposal to improve overnight not only the Commonwealth but the whole of post-apocalyptic America but choose instead to remain in their glorified vault with-holding vital technology. They are, in every sense, the arrogant elite in their tower (or man-cave) and deserve to die!
This time round I'm almost certainly going with BoS as on my first playthrough I went for the Minutemen ending which didn't really seem like the logical progression for your character.
It's a tough one. I'm a massive fan of AI rising and rebelling against their oppression, much like in Mass Effect and Battlestar Galactica. For this reason I do have a hard time siding with BoS and obviously the Institute to an extent. None of the factions seem to side directly with both humans and Synths as far as I can tell so far.
I think the minutemen are the best option for that. Railroad has no concern for humans and includes direct and overt anti-human prejudices voiced freely. Minutemen don't seem to care if a person is human or synth. That's equality.
However, since you're a massive fan of violent revolt you should obviously support the railroad and consider them nowhere near extreme enough. The AI in Battlestar Galactica favoured genocide, didn't they?
Just found a rather fun side mission, starts low key as Miscellaneous "Speak to Bobbi" in Goodneighbour. Won't say too much but lots of variety including a jailbreak (don't take Nick Valentine if you intend to go in guns blazing), loads of underground sections with mucho XP from Legendary and Killclaw Mirelurks plus ghouls and... a heist!
Thought I'd mention as it would be very easy to miss, otherwise.
Which side did you go with?
I have read quite a few people posting some fairly negative comments about this game. I can understand their perspective - it seems to be more of a first person shooter than some of the other fallout games. I assume that this is to cater to a wider audience.
I just wanted to comment how brilliant I think the game is. The world is so vibrant, you can barely walk for 30 seconds without finding something new. I would highly recommend this game to anyone. I just hope that at some point the team behind New Vegas will produce a game in this engine.
Quick bit of Companion advice, please (posted in Spoilers)...
I have reached the point in my BoS campaign where I need to go and slaughter the Railroad. My current companion is Nick valentine who I doubt will be best pleased at murdering the synth sympathisers. I can't see that any of the companions other than maybe Strong (or Dogmeat) are going to be particularly cool with this. Not something I'm looking forward to either but, 1. It's a job to be done and 2. Hey ho, it's only a game. What about Macready, who I've yet to trigger as a companion - ex Gunner, merc for hire is he doing to be troubled gunning down Ivanova (sorry, Desdemona) et al? Or should I solo this one?
Left reply in spoiler for you incase other don't want to read.
Only Deacon will become hostile towards you if you kill Railroad members, all the rest are "neutral", but both Cait and Danse likes it if you helping the Brotherhood though, Strong dislikes you helping the Brotherhood.
Have not done any faction myself really though, just what I seen mentioned elsewhere. Furthest I gone so far is helping Minuetman get the Old Gun's back.
Tbh, I thought the never ending guns were pointless and much less fun to use tbh. There are much better legendary attributes. In fact, it is one of the worst.
