**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

I haven't played for a few days. I play at various times, since my sleep cycle is not much of a cycle :)

I've popped on and moved 500 screws from my stash to my inventory. I had 894, so I can spare those 500 (plus whatever I happen to get from scavving as I go along). If we're on at the same time, we can teleport to each other and I'll drop the screws for you.
I will keep an eye out for you, thanks.

I think that a useful location for one is the garage/barn between Silvia Homestead and Billing's Homestead. They're SW of Flatwood, across the river, near the river that marks the western edge of the gameworld. Easiest way to find it is to follow the river roughly south from Flatwood until it runs into a river running roughly east-west, cross that river, head roughly west along the far bank until you find a power substation and Hillside Hotdogs. Follow the road roughly south from the hotdog place and you'll soon reach the homesteads. The garage/barn you want is in the fields between the two. One of those half-tube things that were common in the real world during/after WW2. Quonset huts, I think they're called. The only mobs that spawn near there (outside of the Project Beanstalk event that sometimes spawns at one of the homesteads) are some very low-level minor robots (liberators and protectrons) and maybe some very low level scorched. In the barn/garage itself are 3 very low level radroaches. So it's a safe spot to get to and work in.

Thats the one I found and now use, thinking of moving my camp up that way.

Hmm...am I right in thinking that the explosive legendary effect is more trouble than it's worth? I bought an explosive zealot gatling gun from a player vendor and it does only very slightly more DPS than my faster firing gatling gun and I am often damaged by the explosions. Ah well, faster firing anti-armour gatling gun is all I need.

I'm now in the odd position of having 2 spare SPECIAL points and no idea what perk to use for them. There doesn't seem to be anything really useful that I don't already have. Unfortunately, the Nukes Dragons planner doesn't work for me (uncommon browser + security plugins, probably), so I can't show my hand.

Still after a torn mothman wing. I saw online that a vengeful mothman is one of the possible targets in the queen of the hunt daily event. Shame that event is broken for me - it's only spawned once and isn't triggered by going to the hunter's shack or reading the terminal. Also, of course, collector. I have found 2 issues of the magazine for that. Finding them all would probably take hundreds of hours of grinding and server hopping, so no. And chemist...just can't be bothered with it and I can't make all the grenades anyway.

I'm pretty much out of stuff to do now.

Does anyone know where to get greens for Chally the moo-moo in Grahm's meat cook event? There are no end of pages claiming "all the details" about the event and having none of the details.

Meat week is a bit of fun. Lots of things to shoot, culminating in a high level mob. In the more dangerous areas, expect L100 glowing legendary mobs. But the cooking event was an abject failure with a dozen people milling around doing not much. I put some wood on the fire, contributed some prime meat and some critter chunks...but no idea about the greens. It's not normal plants, at least not flowers.

EDIT: Ah, thanks, it's in that link. A new recipe from Grahm - Chally's feed.

EDIT: Eh...1 scrip per prime meat piece and some tat you can't use with power armour as a reward for the cook event. So...pointless. And completing the cooking event properly requires at least 10 people working in an organised way.

Meat Week is an utterly pathetic failure even for Bethe$$$da its a new low. Devoid of anything worth doing & not only that why bother developing it when so many things are still broken! I think they must be close to giving up NONE of these tacked on events have decent rewards either just pure low quality shovelware

Well hoo-rah! People are getting more organised and more people have read the instructions which Bethesda thoughtfully didn't put in the patch notes. Just finished a meat cook event with maximum prize plus a bonus prize for having made a couple of dozen feeds for Chally. A 1* legendary armour piece and an outfit which is of course useless as I use power armour.

Well, that's that done with. Now I can play something else.

I got a couple of amusing photos of players having fun with the bugs while waiting for the event to start. One player standing inside a barrel and one riding a dead bear that was being cooked. I also gained a fair bit of XP from slaughtering waves of mobs in the frequent prime meat events. Incidentally, they are very easy. I soloed a couple in the Cranberry bog area, which should be the hardest. But I never found those greens. Chally's feed is something different.

Off to farm titanium today at Deathckaw island as I am having trouble finding miners to kill.
Unexpectedly I am having a lot of fun with this game even though it has some annoying bugs in it which really should have been sorted by now.

There are a couple of other possible ways to get black titanium.

Mole miners are mainly concentrated in the ash heap zone, south of the forest. The town of Welch has a dozen or so and they respawn often.

The Gorge Junkyard is a workshop in the forest zone that you can claim and which has a black titanium deposit. If you take it, you can build a mineral extractor that will generate black titanium for you. Putting a lock on it might be useful, to stop any other player casually taking it. You'll have to fast travel back to the place every now and then to collect the black titanium, since the storage space in the mineral extractor is limited, and you'll have to go back a few minutes after taking it and every hour or so after that for a "defend your workshop" event which sees it attacked by some mobs. Easily sorted by building a bunch of turrets.

If you spot the "breach and clear" event in the ash heap zone, that's good for black titanium. An automated mining machine comes to the surface and can be looted in batches for ore. Some of that ore will be black titanium ore, which you can smelt at a chemistry station. In between batches of containers unlocking, groups of mole miners will attack.

Same here.

Several times today I have had the game freeze after I have tried to leave a power armour.

New patch, new bugs. Several times yesterday I had my power armour disappear during a Primal Cuts event when I exited it to play the drum to start the event. Which, unsurprisingly, resulted in death as I was unarmoured and facing a horde of high level mobs.

EDIT: Looks like I just missed you today. I checked a few minutes ago to see if you were in the game.

I set up my camp on the other side of the river from Deathclaw Island with 4 turrets and killed a few Deathclaws plus I bought the maps and got all the titanium I needed. So now have the Excavator pa and a T60 and a bunch of nice weapons. Have not come upon a legendary beast for a while as I think I am ready for them now.

Can you get on now, so I can give you those screws?

How do you give gifts, I looked in my emoji wheel but could not see anything?

It's one of the things that I bought from the atom shop. You can choose which emoji items appear in the wheel from the ones you have access to and in some cases the wheel opens out further if you have >1 in a given category. It's a mess I didn't bother looking into, but I did buy that pose and emoji. Or maybe it was free on a day I happened to be playing. It might still be available or it might not. Bethesda is very keen on creating artificial scarcity to try to manipulate people into spending real money on virtual decoration.

I haven't spent real money on anything in there, of course. I've done almost all of the even vaguely achievable challenges, which has given me thousands of atom points to use in the shop. I bought a lot of camp stuff, back when I was caring about my camp despite Bethesda's best attempts to force players to not care by making the camp building as badly implemented as they could.

Ah, a typical FO76 session.

I popped on to do a Whitespring run to get some scrip, sell some scav to get some caps and probably do a couple of daily or weekly challenges to get some atom points. I got sucked into Meat Week because it was there. So I did 3 primal cuts events and gained 15 prime meat, trying to avoid killing everything when there were other players around, to the extent that I let a L100 prime mirelurk queen batter me so the other player nearby could finish off some gulpers and then kill the queen I'd left nearly dead. The 3rd one I was soloing in the cranberry bog, so I was able to haul out my highest DPS weapon and let rip. ~10s for a L100 glowing 3* legendary prime supermutant behemoth...and I later noticed I still had Super Duper on instead of One Gun Army. I think I'll stick with this build for a while :) I don't use that gun often - it's explosive so there's too much chance of friendly fire. Explosive weapons can damage other players, right?

Anyway, the usual happened - most of the times I got out of my power armour, it disappeared. This is a problem when you need to get out of your power armour to play the drum to summon waves of prime beasts. Getting it back 90s later is too late. Another bug introduced by a patch. Top-notch quality testing by Bethesda as usual.

In between, I teleported to a couple of places to gather tatoes, carrots, razorgrain and dirty water to make boiled water and then Chally's feed. Lost my PA again, of course. Got it back, went to eat some razorgrain soup I'd just made...and the game crashed.

Reloaded (another wasted few minutes on the insanely long load time), did the last of those 3 prime cuts events, sold some stuff, noticed the meat week event (no server notification, as often happens - my guess is that it was sent during the very long load time for teleporting and so was never displayed) and teleported there. Deposited the max meat and feed and wood scraps, then went to play a drum as everyone was running around gathering critter chunks and nobody was playing drums or turning spits. No chance of completing the event without anyone playing drums or turning spits. Other players turned up and did the necessary, so we completed the event at maximum success...and I got nothing for it. Event completed, no reward. I did get a 1* legendary junk item for maximum Chally feeding, but that's it. Bought a plan off Grahm I didn't have before, so that's good. A clock for the camp I no longer care about, but a new plan is a new plan.

Then the game crashed again. Time to do something else.
