**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

Coming back online shortly. if you have any mods you may need to remove them for now I think it now has anti-cheat enabled to stop all the hacking on NW & in the base game!

Doesn't seem that way. I didn't know about anything and I'm playing as usual with my usual mods. None of them give me any advantage in gameplay, only in convenience. Maybe they're being selective about which mods are allowed. Or maybe it's just that the latest patch is considered more likely to break mods than usual. The wording says nothing about mods being banned.

All I can think of is 6K per week for bullion. Wait...do you have all the PA plans? Not any use unless you're just collecting, but maybe something if you have no other use for caps.

Yeah got them all, the only things in plans terms (outside of gold bullion plans) is radium rifle mods, I only have 14 of the 45 unlocked but you cant buy them anywhere anyway and I don’t use one anyway so wasn’t that bothered. Guess I’ll just empty the machines of Bulk junk items..

Also I’m keep checking the Whitespring bunker for the Pyschotats recipe but its never there, yet everywhere I’ve read says it should be..anyone got any ideas?

Well that's strange. I just encountered a non-hostile legendary raider hunter coming out of Foundation.

Also heard my favourite line from Sunny, about tea:

"Excellent. Rain is good for business. Drink warm water with leaves in it."

EDIT:

Heh, I decided to give Beckett a nice hat. I have a couple of white wolf fedoras left in my stash, so I gave him one of them...and he stripped to his undies and put the hat on. "You can leave your hat on". Not exactly the look I wanted, so I gave him a Vault 76 jumpsuit (only clean outfit I have) and some patrolman sunglasses.

some of the bloodied builds are pretty insane. Went down to SE corner to test that shotgun and a guy with a fixer 3 shot a lvl 50 scorchbeast, then 4-5 shot a lvl 75 version. Later on doing the SBQ, once it landed at 70% health it died in under a second.

Line in the sand have half the group in Chinese stealth armour with fixers just one shotting everything

in more exciting news, got a broken shotgun that one shots lvl 73 enemies from mid-long range. Was just in my stash saving for a 2nd char

That's obviously a bug. My initial thought is that maybe it's an unintentional interaction between VATS, those specific legendary effects and the way shotgun ammunition is treated in FO76 (and probably FO3, NV and 4). Firing a shell is treated as firing a number of projectiles, each of which is treated as a seperate projectile. IIRC, there are 8 projectiles per shell in FO76. If the intended damage per shell is unintentionally applied per projectile, if they all hit that would do 8 times the intended damage. That seems to be in line with what was shown on the video. It wasn't always a one shot kill, not even on supermutants.

EDIT: I looked around a bit more and found what sounds like a plausible explanation of how the bug works, although the shotgun bug works differently despite being based on the same legendary effect bugs (e.g. it requires using VATS).

https://fed76.info/a/limb-damage-bug/

In essence, the hypothesis is that some specific legendary effects are applying a hidden and uncapped Furious effect, so every hit on the same target does 5% more damage. The extra damage is usually capped at +50%. Without that cap and with a weapon with a high rate of fire the damage very quickly becomes extreme. That's what I was seeing on Angry Turtle's video on how these bugged legendary effects make high rate of fire weapons extremely overpowered - normal damage to begin with, climbing rapidly to extremely high damage.

It's tempting, but I'd classify this as bug and using it as an exploit. No way is bashing damage (for example) intended to multiply ranged damage to dozens of times its normal amount. Or at all.

More people are running Stealth build now than Bloodied or Junkie builds since the Stealth Armor was introduced, I dont even own it yet. Have got the rep with either faction as I cba to do the daily fetch garbage.

Honestly the Legendary systems needs stripping back because literally no-one uses Ghoul Slayers, Stalkers, Berserkers, Zealots etc for anything other than scrip. They are totally pointless as they are too specialised in that you can't wrap your perk fitout around them properly and against high level stuff they are useless.

I did get a 3* Bloodied Plasma Pistol though which for no reason what so ever I decided to stick a flame barrel on and its actually really powerful even though I'm specced for Heavy Guns. It hold 306 in the Ammo chamber and I cleared Whitespring of LVL 40+ Ghouls without reloading...

Yep that seems to make sense. The way the damage numbers show up it feels like each pellet does full damage. So if the shotgun says 160 damage, then every pellet landing will do that x everything else like bloody mess and stealth crits etc

It does slightly more damage than the .50 sniper with +50% crit damage to head, but this is from non-stealth shooting straight to body for the shotgun with no shotgun perks and 1 strength. It can't one shot the harder heavily armoured legendary, but still does good damage to them

tbh the endgame just feels like find the most broken and op weapon/build that trivialises the game. Clearly specific bloodied builds are much worse than this bugged shotgun to the point of completely breaking the game. It's just really confusing to try and understand why they let the game balance get this bad

the legit lvl 50 sneak rifleman build with stock fixer feels slightly too powerful already. I can clear out camps and kill legendaries without taking a single hit

The buy 300 Gold for 6000 Caps reset per day not per week so I just for example bought mine & next Tuesday I can then buy another 300 Gold!

Yep Bloodied is insane but also be prepared to die a lot as its risk vs reward. The lower the health the higher the DMG means you get 1 hitted & instant death quite a lot so do not carry anything you can drop in your inventory as there is a chance you lose the lot if the game decides you cannot respawn where you got killed.

I can get my Bloodied 3* Grognak Axe up to around 800 DMG per hit but some have got it as high as 3000 DMG per hit using chems, buffs, foods & perk cards combos. I just use the perk cards but its easy to get way more DMG.

yeah understand, I've seen some pretty tanky bloodied videos though. Also the stealth in the game is almost broken, with the correct combo you will pretty much take zero damage especially with those levels of damage output

with stealth suit on I can now clip straight though slightly lower level legendary enemies, or even sit 0.5m away from higher level legendaries and they can't find me. There's only a few enemies which can see through stealth. The game seems to make them cheat and auto see you, but it's a one time thing, if you can break line of sight then you can re-stealth and they are powerless to find you

two manned a wendigo colossus last night, I was sat maybe 5m away shooting with an non-silenced handmade and stayed in stealth

That is per week. If it reset per day you could buy 300 per day, not per week. It originally reset every Saturday, despite Smiley's dialogue saying Monday.

It doesn't appear to be resetting at all for me. Which is a known bug. Or maybe I bought the week's supply on Saturday and have forgotten. No big deal. I still have 63 spare treasury notes from overdoing public events, so I'll get enough gold sooner or later.

[..] Clearly specific bloodied builds are much worse than this bugged shotgun to the point of completely breaking the game. It's just really confusing to try and understand why they let the game balance get this bad

I don't think they let it get so bad. I think they're incapable of balancing the game. They're slapping hastily made patches on cobbled together shonky code and doing so in a disorganised way (as shown by the fact that new patches often reintroduce bugs that were fixed in previous patches).

It's a shame I don't like playing stealth. I have a two shot fixer I got from a lucky drop, plus a slew of high grade rifles and shotguns I accumulated from months of playing a shotgun/rifle build.

Given how broken stealth is, you could combine it with bloodied. If you're never going to take a hit, it won't matter if you're running around 90% dead.

If you complete the Settler's questline far enough, you get the chinese stealth armour plans for free. As far as I know, you're not told that ingame. You might already have them and not know it.

Not quite "literally no-one". I have a zealot 50 cal I use. Not because it's zealots but because it's the only 50 cal I've found so far with exploding bullets and I like high rate of fire guns with exploding bullets. Just for jollies. There's an illuminated pre-war poster near the entrance to my camp advertising a brand of ammunution that reads "Who cares about accuracy when everything you shoot explodes?" In the immortal words of History Today - that's me, that is.

I crafted a non-legendary unmodded flamer solely to do the "Set the World on Fire" weekly challenge in the easiest way possible. You need to do 3 things from a list of things and the easiest seemed to be kill a scorchbeast, use photomode near a fissure and kill 10 enemies with a flamer. I'm also specced for heavy guns and I have a mutation that halves my damage with energy weapons and that bog standard flamer was still quite effective. Flamers seem to have been buffed a lot at some point, although they're still mostly ignored.

One-shotting a L65 scorchbeast is a very broken thing.

Have been trying out some different weapons and rifleman vs commando. Keep going back to fixer + handmade in commando build as the most versatile. The fixer for normal enemies and faster stealth movement. Handmade with quad ammo and faster fire rate for SBQ etc, just unload a 80 round clip.

Picked up some explosive weapons but mixed results, did they nerf explosive?
explosive bolt-action - not much more total damage than the auto guns above for single shot. Explosive only ads about 11
10mm smg explosive, dangerous with Chinese stealth suit :p enemies find you and point blank fire is just out

New mole miner event in ash heap is live this is the rewards list & the odds someone put a lot of work into! Its the same old Bethesda trolling the player though UNLESS your a relatively new player most of this you will already have. The resource to craft the miner pails (if you do not want to grind the mole miners for them) is very expensive caps wise & some players spent over 90K caps to receive pathetic rewards!!

Thanks for posting a link to that information. It's clearly not worth spending caps on, since even with an ornate pail there's at best a 0.5% chance of one of the 8 things on that list I don't already have and from those 8, 6 are useless outfits, 1 is a useless weapon skin and 1 is a useless camp item.

Its effectively the xmas gift wrap event retooled for ash heap! Weak Bethesda content drop at least its free!

I have about 99% of all plans ingame now (finally bought a Bear Arm Plan last week from a player who has multiple alts for different events at different character levels gives different drops apparently!) but must get all plans still!! Even I am not bothering with this on those drop rates you would exhaust yourself of caps & materials & still get if your very lucky perhaps 1 plan you did not know.

Monday 25th is Fasnact event all week with improved drop rates & a few new drops coming as well so lets see how that does.

I wandered around until I found a mole miner with a pail. A standard pail, neither dusty nor ornate. Aluminium scrap, some other scrap and a mounted fox head plan. Oh wow, time to scour the ash heap for more of that and spend every possible cap on it!

I'm fairly sure I still have some mounted fox head plans left over from the christmas gift wrap event (which I did scour the game for and spend every possible cap on). I sold some mounted body parts plans for ~10 caps each, but most didn't sell.

Here's something nice I found today. I went to Wixon Homestead to get some carrots after noticing that the "complete 19 daily quests" had appeared in my "challenges" list after patch 19. I heard a comic and went into the house and upstairs to find it...and found Cheswick II, the heir to Cheswick.
