**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

@Angilion
I just got the Winter Effigy helmet Plan from Fasnact but it says I already own it & yet I cannot create the T45 Helmet as I already learned that Plan from the xmas gift event! Yet another bugged item in a very long list now :(

It's a waste of space anyway. Can't be put in a display, can't be sold, can't be used as armour because it's L15, can't be traded and it weighs 10. I scrapped my spare. I'll probably scrap the other one too. Although I've read that it works for the "challenges" and events where you have to wear a mask so I might keep it for halloween.

I just put my vendors back up and sold 29 plans in 10 minutes. So that's nice for the people who got plans they wanted for 50 caps each.

Well that's all the faction rep done. I bought all the gauss shotguns mods, even the ones I'll never use, and backpacks and gauss minigun and farmable tiles and the ammo-making machine.

Had a marvellous Fasnacht. Several players with high rate of fire laser weapons put on a light show during the effect. That's a new one on me and a very good show. I joined in by juggling a critter corpse with my explosive 50 cal. Macabre but novel. I wasn't sure it could be done, but it can.
As you mentioned before some of the firepower on display in Fasnact is just awesome  so many higher level weapons with incredible DMG :)

Does anyone have any revolvers for trade? looking for one with +50% armour pen ideally

Think I have an 2* Anti Armor Explosive for sale...you can have it if you want it for free.
Just add me @kurtz207 and hit me up when you see me online.

Also the Legendary perk system is laughable...a just read that a level 777 player was only able to fully upgrade 1 perk due to the cost.......

Loving some of the new camps designs. Fallout 76 players are so inventive & making good use of the limited camp budget & restrictions.

Yep sure, I'm BushiDan in game. Let me know a time and I'll try and pop on today

I finally did the Riding Shotgun escort mission and it was every bit as tedious as I expected it to be, since it's an escort mission. I'm glad that's done with. Soloed it, got 2 supply crates, was rewarded with some junk. Yay! I got 2 or 3 scrip legendaries from mobs during the event, though.

Yeah not sure how accurate that is on the Masks, I got the Raven Mask and and Crazy Guy Mask on my first 2 runs.
I've done maybe 20-30 runs now and I'm done with it (I cant take the music anymore, its boring af!) and I'm only missing the T45 Helmet which is a total waste of time anyway.

I'm only doing it for the quest reward. Guaranteed levelled legendary up to 3* and including items you've learned the plans for in addition to the usual pool. It's the best quest reward I know of and it's a far easier quest than most. It will only fail if a griefer makes it fail or possibly if all the whining ******* flock after the crappy side reward from the megasloth and leave the robots to be destroyed by the wolves, stingwings and possibly supermutant suiciders. Those utter tossers who lie about the event reward and spew bile at the high level players who make sure everyone gets the actual event reward. Those festering scuzzers who are far worse than the idlers who camp AFK in the area to get the event rewards for free.

Finally found & killed a level 90 Wendingo Colossus with 1 other lower level player & it was an absolute waste of resource & time! No rewards worth mentioning apart from 150 Caps & a few non rare items to sell or break down for materials.
This fight is really annoying as well you get an animation which forces you to run away regardless of how high a level & well armed character you have it literally makes you run away like a little child! This kicks in every few mins of the battle & makes it take way longer than it needs to. Level 75 Wendigo spawns are also constant expect to fight 3-4 at once or fend them off as they drain your energy fast.

Spent so much ammo & stimpacks on this took a good 20 mins as you get instant killed a fair bit if your health drops below 50% & if you do not return fast enough to continue the battle (you do not respawn anywhere near it) it takes even longer as the colossus regenerates all their energy very fast. All typical Bethesda Fallout 76 gameplay mechanics to extend a little content into a lot :(

Its by far the most annoying battle of the entire game right now & makes the level 95 SBQ solo seem like a picnic  not because its a challenge at all but because of how annoying it is for no reward worth having for the amount of effort you need to put into it!!

Yes good point on the 3* actually I'd forgot about that so I keep doing it now that you have refreshed my memory.

On the Wendigo Colossus thats a strange experience you had because mine was totally different. I've only met one and it was LVL 90 but I killed it Solo with my Bloodied 3* Ultracite Gatling Laser without too much trouble at all and didnt die. It was just after a SBQ event in the forest area next to it so I was as high as kite on chems but it just felt like a tanky Behemoth to me with some irritatin critters bugging the hell out of me!

I got a 1* Rolling pin from it.

yeah the event has been pretty good for getting scrip legendaries. Higher levels often ditch their 1 star ones along with plans and masks. Last night walked away with 6 legendaries + new mask. If you port in a 7 minutes past the it's all done in under 7-8 minutes. New char is sitting on 930~ scrip with a bunch of legendaries in chest ready for lvl 50. Guaranteed it'll be 10 useless 3 start weapons.

Earlier a kid completely lost it as he couldn't tag the sloth, shouting at everyone on chat before porting out. Was pretty funny.

Utter bunch of whining pus-stains regarding the sloth in Fasnacht. They'll happily put the main reward at risk by ignoring the wolves, stingwings and supermutants in order to try to get the side reward from the sloth, which is guaranteed to be crap. Then when they get the good reward because other people have done the event properly, they scream and whine and have a tantrum about the crap side reward and pretend they're hard done by and victimised and blah blah blah. I'd like to feed them to the SBQ and laugh and laugh.

Anyway, I have a problem with the Bethesda forums. No, not the plethora of whining pus-stains. That too, but that's not the problem I'm talking about here.

For several days I haven't been able to post there. I get an error message saying that my connection to the Bethesda.net forums appears to have been lost. It isn't. I can view posts. I can log in and view my account details, see notifications, etc. The only thing I can't do is post. Anyone got any ideas why? Anyone willing to post on the Bethesda forums about it for me? I've tried using Edge in case the problem is with my usual browser setup. Same result. I've tried VPN-ing to different countries, just in case. Same result. I haven't changed any settings since I was allowed to post, so it's not that.

I've just scrapped the legendary shotguns I spent so long getting. A gauss shotgun so far outperforms other shotguns that they're now all useless. I would have liked to keep and display them, but Bethesda's miniscule limits to stash size and camp budget prevent me from doing so. Good job I don't feel any connection to the game or character or my camp. Good job there, Bethesda! That's exactly what you want when you're trying to sell an addiction as a service.

The equipment grind begins. Purvyeor gave out some ok Vanguard and Bolstering armour and a couple of ok weapons to get started. Instigating single action is cool for clearing out normal mobs but useless for harder stuff. From what I’ve seen the gauss pistol breaks the game, stupid damage and can be silenced.

Columbo, do you still have the anti armour pistol?

Whats everyone's favourite weapon prefixs?

I've picked up a few but not been able to test them out fully yet

Two-shot - feels both strong and awful at the same time, screws up VATs (so many missed 95% shots), hip-fire is awful but ADS is fine. Good damage increase for ADS
AA - solid, always works, 28%~ increase to almost everything
Junkies - maxes at 50%? not fully tested yet
Bloodied - maxes 90%? still working on bolstering setup to use it
Instigating - good and bad at the same time. Lots of VATs shots get screwed over, some rubbe- banding and not doing full damage etc. When it works it's nice and can one hit kill, otherwise it's pants

I've tested just about every build possible and it Bloodied and Junkies for me but it depends on your play style, I hate stealth and sneak and spending my play time crouching.

Bloodied is my fav simply because of the raw damage numbers. I like the crowd control weapons like 50. cals, miniguns and Gatling lasers and use a Gatling Gun for clearing out annoying fringe or solo scum. I never sneak or crouch and am always the loudest possible. The Gatling Gun hits anywhere between 450-600 per shot and with crits and headshot doing 1-1.2k per shot. Its great fun.

Dont use Bloodied with Bolstering, using Unyeilding instead as a full set stacks specials and is much more efficient however I'm a PA Armor man and Bloodied build with Adrenal Reaction Mut, Emergency Protocols Mod and Stabilised, Nerd Rage, Bloody Mess and Adrenaline Perks is crazy good.

Next would be Junkies as its a full health build with few downsides, damage is good but not crazy and is best used with Vanguards armor set. Pick the right addictions and you basically wont notice.

Bloodied Stealth build are also crazy powerful due to the 3x multi on sneak shots mixed with a decent VATS perks its easy to solo the SBQ if thats your thing.

oh yeah, trying to build up both bolstering and unyielding sets at the same time, will be mix-n-match stuff to begin with. The amount of perception with bloodied looks really good for a vats pistol build, I can tell the difference between the rifleman with 15 and pistol with 7.

was checking out some build guides, BE pistols can put out some good hurt

how are you getting most of your good weapons? is it usually trading?

Well its mix of trading and luck. I have a mix of stuff where the RNG Gods were kind and others where I bought directly.
I spend all scrip on Legendary modules and craft my own legendaries so at least the dice roll is less, nearly all of my armor was traded. I rekon I still have some unyeilding stuff if you want it? Not sure thought.

As an example I crafted my Bloodied Explosive 50. cal with Legendary modules, I got my Bloodied Explosive Minigun from a Legendary Mirelurk Queen and I bought a 3* Gatling Laser. I also crafted a Bloodied Explosive Fixed, Handmade and and bought Legacy Explosive Laser Rifle for about 20k caps which I still have but have hardly used.

I also have a legacy Bloodied Explosive Gatling Plasma which I bought from someone for 500 caps ages ago as I dont think they knew what they had, ironcally I'm more dangerous to myself using it as you die instantly if anything comes within 5 feet of you while firing.
