**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

Gamma/Energy guns are woefully underpowered in this game that most people don't bother with them.

Under 30 dmg at lvl50 doesn't sound like a 3* legendary.

The TSE's are very valuable, I've seen a double with about 1100 damage, and a pump action with about 800 damage. Those would take down a scorchbeast in a couple of hits.

With my perks and mods, my ordinary combat shotgun does 200 per shot and has a very high rate of fire for a shotgun. That's a lot and it minces things quite effectively. I can solo 3 scorchbeasts and a pack of scorched quite easily, with the only significant problem being the screaming effects making it hard to see where to shoot. 800 on a pump action would be a bit mental. What does TSE stand for? I'm assuming that the E is Explosive as I know from my weapons in FO4 that the explosive effect is huge on shotguns as it applies to each pellet.

Yep, Two-Shot Explosive. Basically fires an additional bullet hence the massively increased damage rates.

Are you fighting the lvl50 scorchbeasts? I find the lvl80's have scaled a bit in terms of toughness.

@YoungBlood did you sort your ammo problem out?

I've got (3k of .38) and (4k of .45) and (1k of .44) and (3k of 10mm) that i plan on just giving out to some randomer unless you want them.

@Angilion i noticed you mentioned you were always low on .45 a couple of pages back, i can give you 4k if you can pickup in the next few days.

Fought a few Level 95 Queen Scorchbeast earlier with randoms as well as some Lvl 80 Scorchbeast. Drops are very poor best items are Ultracite Power armour items not even a full set

Had a few Lvl 80 Scorchbeasts recently as well, not all that tough anymore, annoyingly disappointing drops though considering the ammo it takes to kill it. Not really worth the effort, picking up quite a few high value drops from random creature encounters around the savage divide and mire, including the 270+ damage dragon 4 barrel blackpowder rifle, painfully slow reload though.
Seems to be the best way to pick up decent kit, just wander and fight what you find, tend to use the All Rise supersledge rather than ballistic or energy weapons, just to save on ammo repair costs. Its brutal. not many normal creatures can survive a sprint swing and pretty much all but the hardest creatures are done in two swings.

Picked this up for £11.99 :p downloading.....

wow, runs like a turd :)

Try turning textures to medium, and setting texture filtering to high quality from the driver's control panel.

You'll be hard pressed to tell any difference from the highest texture setting unless you're running 4K.

Those higher resolution textures aren't meant for 1080p/1440p, and they don't even warn you.

Reboot sorted it, also it defaulted to bordered window mode, which was pants. Now running 70 odd FPS at 1440p high settings. :)

Ah, two shot. I mainly used Overseer's Guardian in FO4 for that reason.

I haven't encountered any L80 ones yet, just L50 ones.

I don't use .45 any more - that was for my combat rifle and I switched to a handmade rifle as soon as I found a few and learned the hardened receiver mod for it because it's a better weapon than a combat rifle on a like for like basis. I was only low on .45 when I was using full auto, anyway. I'm fine for ammo when I'm only using semi-auto, although I might not be without the Ammosmith perk. +80% ammo for the same amount of lead is a major improvement. I'll pick up Super Duper as well in another level or two, as that sometimes doubles the amount crafted. Swap them in, craft, swap them out.

I think that's a bit of a joke weapon. Its only possibly practical use is as a first hit from hiding in a stealth sniper build...but it's not good as a sniper rifle and you can't even put a scope on it.

Maybe it should be called Alll Fall rather than All Rise :)

I run around with Rank 5 Gunsmith in play and I'm going to get max rank Weapon Artisan when I level some more to add that to my crafting perk card hand. With those two, weapons will be repaired to double normal condition and wear out half as quickly, so repair costs won't be a problem. Ammosmith and Super Duper in my crafting perk card hand and ammo won't be a problem either. I'll probably install the mod to swap perk card hands with one keypress soon. On a few occasions I've forgotten to swap back and have gone out with my crafting perk card hand in play instead of my adventuring one and in any case it's a bit inconvenient to swap half a dozen or more cards each time.

Would someone else test wearing armour and/or underamour underneath power armour? I'd like to know if it's my game that's glitched or AWPC's game that's glitched or benefitting from unstated perk card bonuses - they get bonuses from all 4 layers at the same time and I get a penalty if I wear underarmour or armour under power armour.

Yeah nothing more than a gimmick, it has been resigned to the stash box for now, no real use in a battle other than first strike, and for the weight its not worth carrying.

As for armour under PA... just tested it, for me normal armour under PA adds nothing to my stats from what I can see, as for any special bonuses I couldn't say for sure as I've never kept any special armour, i sell/scrap all that I come across, But I suspect the same outcome. As for "underarmour" I've no idea, as I dont have any.

Its glitched badly. Sometimes I exit the PA my Carry weight goes up to 495! Then other times it drops to 360 in the PA! With or without perks something is not working properly with Carry Weight & HP as well mine goes all over the place. Starting to see that the same thing is happening with weapons. Outside of Melee weapons like the modded Super Sledgehammer most of the guns do the same amount of damage for me so I am sticking with Melee for now at least that is working properly Stats wise.

Well, this is a bit silly. I've been exploring just a part of the Ash Heap area and I've picked up another 12 fusion cores that were just lying around. Some just on tables, some in containers, a couple in fusion generators. I've seen many thousands of fusion cells. If fusion was so commonplace that what are effectively fusion batteries are so abundant in a rural area, why would the war have continued so strongly? It would have been hard negotiate a peace, but not impossible since the root cause of the war (fuel shortage) no longer existed.

I now have some charming photos of me playing various musical instruments in my underpants :) There was a miscellaneous quest to play instruments, so I had to get out of my power armour to play them.

I am finding mods or plans I previously paid a lot of caps for just lying about along with other supposed to be scarce items its infuriating! I am constantly carrying around 30-40 Fusion Cores & must have dumped about 100 in the last few weeks as once you get certain perks they last effectively forever!

When you see how many items you need to build even one its clear the game needs a major rebalance now its launched & up & running as the stats for many things do not match the effort required.
Ultracite Armour as well is major issue. Most players dump it (including me as I figured I could just get it back later when I was a high enough level to use it ) when they receive as a BOS mission reward early on but guess what it takes many many extended farming runs into the dangerous Nuke Blast zone it takes a lot of effort just to get enough for a single Ultracite armour piece & now the only way the Ultracite plans drop are tied to beating a Lvl 95 Queen Scorchbeast so its a quite ridiculous time sink all for the pieces to make a decent default PA set & T51b modded is still the best set you can create anyway when you have all parts.

I'm keep forgetting about the Fusion cores, end up carrying 20+ and wondering why i've got so little space in my inventory... reality is you are never far enough away from a stash box to warrant carrying more than 4 on you at a time.

Yeah I'm glad I held on to the Ultracite PA, dont use it though, just fills up space in my stash, not long built up a set of X-O1 which I'm using at the moment but seriously lacking mods for it.
