**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

Lol $80 (plus shipping!) for some **** unbranded rum that's probably going to give you the poops. Why would someone even buy that, are they idiots?

They can't blame the bottling company, they just do what Bethesda pays them to do.

This started well before fallout 76, I was one of the purchasers of the 'limited edition' fallout beer on the release of fallout 4.

It was sold in crates of 12, so I ordered 3, 1 to resell as they were limited, 1 to drink and 1 to keep.

All 3 crates arrived opened and emptied into Amazon bottle carriers meaning the limited edition packaging was destroyed. Two packs of four arrived inside a four bottle packaging, proving that they were never in a 12 bottle crate.

To top it all off the limited edition beer was just carlsberg. Didn't even taste of anything special.

To cut my losses I figured I'd sell the empty bottles on eBay, that was fine apart from as soon as you put the bottles in the fridge the fallout label falls off and you end up with a green carlsberg bottle.

I've roughly broken even selling the empty bottles but had to drink all the lukewarm carlsberg in the process. I've kept one bottle to remind me of my mistake.

Lots of people taken the plunge now
Best thing to do is quit to the main menu then wait a few moments before retrying to get another server. Just had it happen again  after an epic Mothman fight though :)

I saw the mothman when i was somewhere around a monument waiting for a bug to spawn for the hunter mission. didnt know what it was. I saw a couple of red lights in some trees so i thought i would take a look, took two steps towards the lights, heard a horrid scream, duly turned around and ran.

Cant wait for tomorrow. I can put some more time in after 6 days of just logging in to muck about for 30 mins. I can honestly say i have not had this much fun since i played subnautica.

Mothman sightings are quite rare if you see try to stay & fight I have only seen him twice in almost 2 months constant daily play  he is either very easy to fight or very hard! Some also fly so you need guns to take them down otherwise hand to hand combat with the best melee weapon you have & buffs ;)

I've seen him quite a few times now, a good 7 or 8 at least, first few times I avoided it, but I've tried to fight it at least 4 times now and even tried to sneak up and talk to it but every time it just boosts off and vanishes...

The Flatwoods monster on the other hand is an extremely elusive beast, pretty sure I spotted it once on the southern side of the ash heap.

Here are some new pics I just took. The T51 Power Armour Paintjob only got released a few hours ago. Its 1000 Atoms but you have 7 days to earn that in game doing Challenges for no real money (if you do not already have enough Atoms!). The lights constantly flash on & off & it also has different sounds. Its ONLY for the T51b armour though so you need to get that as well in game but can still buy the paintjob for when your ready to apply it. Mine also has the Red Headlamp mod I bought for credits in game ;)

The Alien is the hardest one to find no one has seen him yet!

Testing the boundaries; "how little effort can we put in and still attract sales?" I got the game for free and still feel cheated. So little passion in Triple A development these days, it's a damn shame. Especially considering the potential scope of an online FO game. Quality < Profit. Roll on Cyberpunk 2077.

I have, at a distance. I shot at them once and they disappeared. I mean literally disappeared, like a teleport.

Outer Worlds for me. I'll pre-order that one ASAP. Actual RPG? SP? Offline? Dialogue shown before you say it because that's crucial to an RPG? Numerous interesting NPCs? Interesting world? Many stories? Your choices affect the gameworld and how NPCs act towards you? Ticks all the boxes. It's more Fallout than Fallout 76 is, that's for sure. Which is no coincidence, since the devs are the people behind Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. "From the original creators of Fallout and the developers of Fallout: New Vegas". The only way they could make it more of a direct competition to the Fallout series would be by saying "This absolutely defintely isn't like Fallout, oh no, not at all" with their fingers ostentatiously crossed and smiling like a lunatic to make it even more obvious. The failure of FO76 is a superb Christmas present to them and gives the line "Try not to break it" in the trailer an extra meaning. Completely coincidental and unintended, I'm sure.

But I'm still playing FO76. I'll definitely play it through the main story and I might roam around to discover all the locations afterwards. It's substandard, but there are some good things about it.

Level limits on learning plans gets on my nerves, though. Why of earth make it impossible for players to learn key plans after a certain level and not even bother telling players? That's just insulting us.

I have very high expectations for Outer World's, I hope it doesn't disappoint. Vegas still stands as my personal favourite FO, so we'll see....

Just to throw my side in here without going right through the thread. I got a good 100 hours out of FO76 and I've done pretty much everything the game has to offer at the moment and I'm pretty much finished with it. The bugs I encountered were not game breaking for the most part and I enjoyed exploring the wasteland (mostly solo) a hell of a lot. I got my money's worth and I would imagine any fans of the other recent FO games would get the same.

That being said, the whole pantomime has destroyed Bethesda in my eyes

I'm still having fun exploring new locations, although I'm finding the compass display in power armour isn't opaque enough and it's often hard or impossible to see location markers, despite having HUD opacity set to max.

Anyway, I was in Mount Blair Train Yard last night and in the adjacent abandoned shaft and found 2 things I can't seem to do anything with and which hint at something maybe being possible:

1) A supervisor's terminal with options to enroll an employee and run payroll. Running payroll says that there are no employees. Can I enroll myself as an employee? Selecting that option says that only the supervisor can do it, in person.
2) 2 Hornwright claim token redemption terminals...can I get Hornwright claim tokens anywhere?

I have finally learned how to craft a fusion generator and a power armour frame. Time to rebuild my camp this evening.

That is a rare sighting indeed I think it maybe part of future DLC plans (all DLC is going to be free to all players anyway). I have found several ingame things which do not work like keypads, computer terminals etc etc which are probably planned as future DLC.

Try searching indepth around the Ash Heap Region its full of PA Plans & rare weapons apparently ;) I am starting to find Excavator mods around it now.

Got a bit of a weird problem with setting up a perk build on nukes and dragons, when I try to I can't do anything at all I'm on windows 10 and the latest Internet explorer,I can build one on my mobile .
Thanks.

After lvl 50 you can respect the perks so borrow 1 from another up to the max of 15 each perk still. This is only possible per lvl up you get the choice every time to get a new card or respect a card instead. After lvl 50 there are no new cards anyway!

Just about to hit lvl 25, that'll mean i can empty about 100 of my stash. It'll be nice to free up that space.

I noticed a lot of people putting there bases up in Whitesprings golf course, is that a good way to level up a bit faster? Pull out loads of scorched and let turrets deal with them? Does that get me xp? Not that I want to level too fast but I thought it might be fun to do.

Also what should I be putting into my stats? I seem to be putting everything into Int so I can get my weapon crafting up, but I dont seem to be doing enough damage now, so i guess I should start getting perks to make my guns better.
