**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

Scrap all junk (apart from the stuff you scav from nuke blast zones NEVER scav that until you have used the chemical station to process or you lose it!). This reduces weight also their is a Perk to reduce Junk weight by 90% so work towards that as well it makes a big difference.

You get a lot of useful junk from scrapping guns & weapons plus it counts towards the Atoms you earn ingame from the challenges to buy Cosmetic items without using real money to buy the Atoms;) I have well over 6000 Atoms from ingame challenges alone that would cost you around £50 to buy which I would never do (but Bethesda hope some players do to make up the earnings they get back from the game!).

Yewah, I;ve used the wrong term. I do scrap everything - I had too much scrap.

Ah no! Sorry mate I didn't even notice :(

Was on for a quick session and got stuck in to the nuked zone. Was that where you bumped into me?

Let me know when you're next on.

I fast travelled to you then followed you into the nuke zone and helped take out some of those glowing ghouls but I guess you didn’t recognise me, hey ho. I’ll be back on tomorrow night as usual so i’ll try and catch you again.

Came across a huge haul of junk just sitting on the ground on the golf course in paper bags near the centre of a nuke zone in the whitesprings.
Someone must have dropped it, it had thousands and thousands of all sorts from harder to get stuff like ultracite and various kinds of stable flux, to **** heap tons of standard bulked junk like alu, springs, screws and stuff. there was like 20000+ in weight in one of the bags. Nobody in the vicinity, I take it it belonged to someone and they had died or got fed up carrying it because there was no chance you were getting anywhere in a hurry carrying that! I wasnt greedy, I only took enough to top up my stash and keep me not having to worry about scav'ing for a little while.

Whoever dropped it must be some using some sort of hack/exploit though theres no conceivable way you could amass such a haul let alone carry it about with you in the process.

I typically cycle between both at Watoga, and also Lewisburg. AWPC mentions a couple of others.

I haven't even got to Watoga yet. I'm roaming around heading for every location I haven't already been too. Every shack, every light source, every unexpected colour that might be an artificial construction. Who knows how long it will be before I get to everywhere and start seriously farming for mods? I'll note those locations down for later.

That's quite a bit of faff though, i would just stick with your third point, and collect chems. With lvl 3 hard bargaining and a Grape mentats you can sell Stimpacks for 9ea. Psycho/Fury etc sells for about 7/8 ea. It doesn't take many to rake in 200 caps.

True, but I tend to roam around a lot anyway so I may as well pick up junk to sell while I'm doing it. It's also very useful earlier on in the game, when a player won't be awash in chems and won't have perk picks to waste on the hard bargaining perk. That's only worth getting past L50, probably well past it. I have more useful perks to pick up to about L70 at least.

I'm not actually aware of the construction perk, and thought i had unlocked every perk now, will have to check again later.

I've had a quick look online and found no mention of it...but I have it in my hand in the game. At rank 1, it reduces the resources costs of camp items built by 25%.

Aha, my memory is a bit faulty. The perk is called contractor, not construction. The effect is the same and so my question is the same, but I had the name wrong. At rank 2, the effect is 50%

When I get some time to play, I'm going to move my camp, scrap everything apart from plants, fill by build budget with turrets and, scrap them, equip the contractor perk, fill my build budget with turrets and compare.

As for farming flux, i'm not 100% sure if they're player instanced. I went over to the prime fissure site long after a nuke had dropped (but just before the blast zone vanished) and had no problem farming 40 violet flux. Even if it wasn't instanced, i really wouldn't worry too much, there's masses of nuked flora around to harvest that there's plenty for everyone. Also majority of people launching nukes don't do it for the nuked flora, it's either farming legendaries at whitespring, or taking on the scorchbeast queen.

Thanks for that - I'll wander into a nuked zone to do some gardening at some point :) I just didn't want to be rude to other people.

Seems most of my woes are just perk/level related. Seems to be easing off a bit now a few levels higher. :)

Storage seems to be constantly full though, best have a clear out of crap!

That easily happens even if you're only picking up stuff tagged with materials you want. Most of those items will have some other materials as well and most people just scrap all junk and transfer...and then you find you have hundreds of bits of scrap bone, steel, wood, cloth and suchlike :)

I tend to bulk it and sell it if I can be bothered. Saves scavving for other saleable stuff. I bulk everything anyway - it saves some weight and plastic (used for bulking) is very common. As an aside, I think that the "weight" of items is actually a combination of weight, volume and some sort of estimate of convenience. Otherwise bulking would have no effect on it - 100 screws in containers weigh as much as 100 loose screws.

Odd session... Lots of rare creatures making appearances, both mothman and flatwoods monster decided they would actually play with me instead of bolting, neither were particularly tough, 20-30sec battles each, worthless drops though which was disappointing, then again I didnt expect any better.
Having lots of loading screen freezes on fast travel at the moment though, unsure if my system or game, I am running new OC at 4.9Ghz (prime stable) but everything else seems fine just FO76.
Every week it seems to do this before the server maintenance along with either not giving enough drops or giving too many at once! Later today is usually the next patch & server maintenance I think then it settles down again to stable.

Duplicate glitch player they are the same ones who cause server slowdowns by carrying so much junk (the game tracks all your inventory so the server slows down & crashes usually when players who used this exploit are on same server as you!).

I'll be sure to look out for you this time!

For someone dropping that much, that will definitely have been from a duped player. Kudos to the player who killed them, they cause all sorts of server issues. There was a post on Reddit recently of someone capturing the inventory of a duper and they had something ridiculous like 100k of each bobblehead. Someone worked out that if they used 24 bobbleheads a day, they'd have enough to last them like 40 years.

Also worth noting that the two vendors in Watoga are also unique, so separate cap stash.

This is the map i originally used to map out where to sell stuff: https://media.discordapp.net/attach...lout-76-Vendor-Guide.jpg?width=738&height=703

I'll see if i have that perk levelled, i strongly suspect it means it would cost less resources to make the item rather than reducing the overall resource cost for your CAMP. Actually come to think of that, i've seen some players have built some pretty big bases with lots of items inside, so that perk could have given them additional "free space" to place down more items.

One for you and @chroniclard, this was the nuke zone i was at last night:

vG3vYhy.jpg

I think at one stage i counted 18 people within the blast zone, that's nearly 3/4 of the server in one area. Firstly for Chroniclard's benefit, with that many players it would be hard to die from the lvl62/68 Ghouls, just make sure you get a hit on them to stack yourself some XP. And for Angilion's benefit, it does go to show that most see a nuke zone as a "free-for-all" regardless of whomever nuked it. Although i still can't tell if flora is instanced, i pottered around after no ghouls were respawning, and certain areas where i know for a fact specific types of flora is present were no longer there.

Cool, might try that later. Just doing quest at level 25 for excavator power armour and of course I dont have the screws....farm time. :P

Also strange one, I visited 4 or 5 vendors at train stations last night to sell all my meds I had been hording and not using and after the first one none of them had any caps?

Yep vendors are grouped by type, so if you visited 3 responder stations, they'll all share the same cap stash.

See the map i linked to in my last post to see the locations of unique vendors.

Also worth noting when exploring a nuke zone, power armour or hazmat suits are mandatory. Without them you'll be looking at 50/60 rads per second, and it wouldn't take long before they kill you. You'll also need a reasonable supply of rad-away's and Rad-X's depending on how long you plan to be in there for. Excavator PA only has 234 rad resistance, and i think i typically get about 2rads/sec without any Rad-X. Hazmat is 1000 rad resistance, but i've no idea how many rads/sec you'd get from wearing that. I don't bother with the hazmat as there's barely any DR/ER, and if you get whacked by a lvl68 glowing ghoul, it'll probably kill you in 1/2 hits.

Ah right, didn't realise that about vendors, will check the map, ta. :)

Think I have plenty of radx/rad away but sounds like I should stock up for that then.

I had someone shoot me a few times (possibly about 4 times), but they had no dot on the map and did not show up as wanted. He was nice and said that I could use the facilities in his camp, just odd that he did not show up.

What about other players on the map?

If you become wanted (bounty) you're unable to see other players on the map, it's as if you were on the server alone. You can see/hear players as they approach you. That's almost what it sounds like what's happened to you. Can't think why else he'd shoot at you...

Hope they do server maintenance either today or tomorrow. Had 4 hard to kill 3 Star legendaries @ Whitesprings earlier all I got as drops were 4 different pieces of Combat Armour not a single legendary weapon  for all that effort!

Higher level players are farming the game constantly now to grab all the Legendaries to sell on for Caps or real money.

Found that if you buy expensive Power Armour mods like I do not long after you see the same piece just lying around ingame which is a little annoying as its triggered by buying the part so why then give it as a free drop
