**** Official Fallout 76 Thread ****

I would bet that items will be removed from people who did not "use an exploit to dupe items". This is Bethesda and FO76 - do you expect them to get it right?

Also, they clearly intend to remove items from people who bought them, thus further weakining the "in-game economy". Why buy items from other players when you know Bethesda will remove them from your inventory and leave you with neither the item nor whatever you paid for it?

Also, what about items that were duplicated due to bugs in the game? That happened, frequently, without players wanting it to happen or doing anything to make it happen.

Even if it was done perfectly (which it won't be) it affects nothing other than PvP, which hardly anyone cares about.

Patch 6 dropping soon, inc stash size increase which is good but the other fixes are just stuff nobody asked for and still no new content.

  • Stash Limit Increase to 800 – We know this continues to be a big one. Next week, we are raising the Stash limit from 600 to 800 pounds. Like last time, we are constantly evaluating storage space and discussing ways we can make improvements, but not at the expense of server stability. We hope this additional increase to 800 pounds will help you store even more of the awesome item’s you’ve found in the Wasteland!
  • The M79 Grenade Launcher and the Auto Grenade Launcher are now classified as Heavy Weapons – A fix is being made to properly label the M79 Grenade Launcher and Auto Grenade Launcher as Heavy Weapons. They will also now correctly benefit from all Heavy Weapons perks except for Heavy Gunner, as we believe it makes more sense for these weapons to benefit from the Demolitions Expert perk. Boom!
  • Accidentally Damaging another player’s C.A.M.P. will no longer tag you as WANTED – From our Known Issues list, players who accidentally shoot, hit, or disturb another player’s C.A.M.P. will no longer become WANTED and viewed as engaging in PvP. Instead you must actively work to be malicious to another player and DESTROY their C.A.M.P. objects for it to be considered a PvP action and become marked as WANTED. We will closely monitor player feedback to this change.
  • Player Icons now display in more areas throughout the game – Once Patch 6 arrives, hovering over a player on the map will now display their player icon, and Workshops will display their owners’ player icons, too. Additionally, when viewing a turret created by another player, you’ll now be able to see the owner’s name and player icon in the turret’s nameplate.
  • Quest containers during the Feed the People and Path to Enlightenment events now only accept quest items – With this fix, players can no longer accidentally transfer items from their inventories into these quest containers. As a result, you should now be able to complete these events without fear of losing non-quest items.
There will be many more fixes in Patch 6 as we work to make the game stronger and address your top concerns.

They have made a mention of new content some time over the next few months, although it doesn't mention any new locations:

We mentioned our upcoming “Survival” mode is currently planned for release in March for fans of PvP, but we will also be introducing new PvE content for those of you who seek adventure through quests, events, and other features. We’re planning to do this through series of weekly updates we’re calling “Wild Appalachia”, which will be our first big content drop of the year and spans the next few months. In addition to new quests, events, and challenges it will also bring new content to C.A.M.P.s, Crafting, and much more.
Our 2019 Roadmap, which we’re currently looking to roll out later this month, will give you a broader look at what's coming to Fallout 76 with Wild Appalachia. Additionally, ahead of each Wild Appalachia update, we will share a more in-depth preview of the new content and features being introduced to the game the following week.

Indeed, literally no-one gives a **** about PvP in this game yet they are still going with it.
When and where are the new Vaults we were promised?

I'm guessing the team left working on this is now so small that anything over new modes / balancing / config / bug fixes is beyond them.

Stash size limit is good presumably now the dupers are gone they know it will not make the game world unstable. The rest is laughable. They also broke many of the Perk cards last week some combine with others some stopped working altogether. I cba to even report it to them anymore they should be doing this professionally or not at all!

Game is still broken at a fundamental level. After yesterdays patch my main weapon DMG was showing as 274 soon as I fast travelled it went down to 159 now it is stuck on that number  :(

Fast Travel perk does not work properly either for over a week now its taking way too many caps for short distances.

Someone already got into the 3 vaults there is nothing much there I would not hold your breath. Just park your PA suit next to the vault door exit & renter the PA until you get the right point & you spawn on the other side of the wall they will not ban you either. There are several guides on youtube about the exact point where to do this.

I think that's because the people running games companies, especially large games companies, regard PvP as free money for them. Chuck up some basic gameworld and players make the game themselves - very low cost to the game company, therefore very high "success" for the people at a decision-making level in the company because it's normal at higher levels in business to regard cutting costs at all costs as being the main way to measure success regardless of the damage it does to the business.

Even within that extremely flawed framework, Bethesda has got it badly wrong in every way. They've taken the wrong type of game using the wrong type of engine, aimed it at the wrong market, sold it in the wrong way (the most successful PvP games are free to play with paid extras, although most of the failed ones are too), released it the wrong way (FO76 is still too unstable and was worse at launch) and even ruined the high cost low volume collector's market that should be used as a halo product with the slight possibility of creating a fashion market for profit - the collector's market itself is not very profitable because of the low volume. Yet Bethesda decided to try outright fraud to maximise profit margins on it. Not once, but twice. FO76 is a case study in what not to do. The people at a decision-making level in Bethesda aren't up to the job.

That would be the the most cautious and least innovative route for Bethesda to take, so it's probably the one they have taken. Worst of both worlds - a failure to fix the problems whilst keeping the whole thing as Bethesda's problem. Far too many businesses would rather waste money repeatedly propping something up than actually fixing the problem despite the latter being cheaper over time and far more effective. The combination of chronic short-termism and the fetish with cutting costs regardless of the cost of doing so imposes bad decisons even if the people making them understand they're bad decisions - they have to conform to the norm because they're judged on how well they do so. So they go for repeated partial temporary solutions rather than a more effective longer term solution because it's cheaper today even if they understand it's both more expensive and less effective over time.

I think for an hour and a half or so last night, there was nobody else on the server I was on. It. Was. Lovely.
I could go anywhere without hassle. And then, 5 server not responding boots in 10 minutes. At that point I decided to go to bed.

Also, for some reason, I now have 4 Rose's Syringers, only 1 is marked as a quest item, 1 is favourited and 2 random ones...

I think I had my girst experience of a cheater today, I'm level 45 in the Excavator Armor in Watoga doing the MAIA quest, a level 39 guy spawns in next to me and for no reason 1 hit kills me with a sledgehammer.

As I'd dropped a shed load of Aluminium I went back for it and he did it again, (1 hit sledgehammer kill). I say cheater because I'm not really sure what else it could be even with buffs etc at Level 39. Could be wrong though.

Your probably wrong its not a cheater just good perks + melee build. Mine is the same I can 1 hit kill almost anything up to level 68 with my melee grognaks axes collection (I have 5 of them now!) they boost to about 520 DMG per hit & double the DMG if your full health you would not survive being hit with that for long! (although I am not a PVP or PVE player).

The only cheaters are people who were using the dev room to get items they should not have like 3* maxxed out weapons. But most of those should be removed from the game by now after the last patch.

Game does not launch with cheat engine so the only way someone could actively cheat is with advanced scripting knowledge of being able to craft their own cheats bypassing the Bethesda detection system.

Although having said that the game actually cheats you when a flying level 42 bloodbug insect can 1 hit bite you through the steel PA suit helmet @ Whitesprings  or several other places where a tiny insect can kill you with 1 bite even through several layers of armour

Cheers dude, good to know that at least. I guess the player was just being a total tool then...
On another point have they increased the disease catch rate and decreased the amount of Disease Cures to be found? Seems like everytime something scratches me I'm infected again, normally with something that gives +25% damage to the enemy.

I had like 23 Disease cures in my inventory now I'm down to 1 and crafting them is a right chore!

Its probably broken some of the perks have been broken since they accidently merged 2 older builds a few weeks ago! Its clear there are just not many developers left working on this game its been left to drift away judging by how long it takes for anything to get fixed.

Since the latest patch the number and quality of weapons for the PC version has fell through the floor on reddit trade forum. No decent stuff selling for caps and people trying to swap their best stuff for trade only very niche items.

I’ve never had a decent weapon drop since playing and i’ve either been lucky in the watoga shops or done a trade on reddit. Never managed to get hold of a TSE weapon.

I mainly use the all-rise weapon and managed to get hold of a second one which someone just dumped.

I should probably log in and check if my TSE shotgun and bloodied super sledge have been removed then.

As @Angilion pointed out, it'd be very unfair to penalise normal players because Bethesda are several months late to the party to fix the duping issue.

I bought mine in good faith from other players, who either got the loot themselves, or likely purchased in good faith from other like-minded players.

Yeah this always frustrated me on Reddit marketplace, i appreciate that some people only want to swap god-tier weapons for other god-tier weapons, but when you're looking for something with very specific unique traits, then there's not likely to be many in the game. I remember seeing the same posts trying to swap for a particular weapon pop up every few hours from the same person.

The easiest way around that would be for Bethesda to increase max cap limits. At least then some players would consider selling them for say 50k caps.

I checked anyway, but reading the last update says that they compiled a list of 400 weapons/armour that were most likely duped, and then scanned everyones accounts that had multiples of these and ALL BUT ONE were removed.

Most honest players would have only ever had a quantity of one, for a weapon, so protects these from having items removed.

Yeah I didnt lose anything because I haven't bought anything from anyone. All the weapons I have are from quests, drops or world finds.
Honestly most of the are crap and seem to hardly scratch some enemies, I'm LVL45 and I still haven't taken down a Scorchbeast, only have 1 set of PA and only have about 2500 caps.

One Q I've always meant to ask but never have is why do I not get the full value in caps for stuff I sell to vendors? The value of some legendary armor I sold yesterday was 240 caps in the Pipboy but I got about 20 for it or something?

Don't think there is an explanation tbh! Unless that's the max value possible when you've got max Charisma + other perks and bonuses. But yeah, i've never seen the point in that value being added. I think my TSE shotgun (which used to be classed as god-tier) is valued at 100 caps, even though i paid 15k for it.

Hard Bargain +3 Perk Cards + Grape Mentats gives you a better price from Vendors otherwise not worth selling.

What you need to do is every day collect weapons & armour dropped from enemies then sell to Vendors. You are allowed to sell 1400 Caps worth per day to the 7 different Vendors. 200 Caps per different Vendor. You can also sell junk items, & various other aid items (which fetch a good price). These Caps add up over a week or so to a good amount enough to buy better equipment & plans mainly. Too complex for me to go into much detail look for a guide online there are several.
