Official FIFA 22 Thread

No question about it. I’m ready to get hurt again.

Been trying to get my hands on a ps5 but it doesn’t look like I’ll get one in time for release.

Been reading that only the ultimate edition will get a free upgrade from PS4 to ps5 so will go for that. Just need to find a good way to get it cheap like last year.

EDIT: Seems to be the same in that
  1. Get EA Play
  2. Get PSN topup
  3. Pre-order via Fifa 21

How much did it cost doing it that way?
 
I was scrolling through the ps5 menu and noticed that you can view the number of hours you’ve played for each game you have.

Put 800 hours into 17 which also nearly caused me to fail my final year at uni. I’ve dialled it back down to half that with 18 taking a dip after I realised I had an issue. :P

It’s not a bad return for £70 each year. Can’t think of any other game that offers a similar £/hour ratio.

Consoles too for a 10hour period.

EA Play members can kick off their FUT 22 journey with a 10 hour trial starting from September 22. EA Play Pro players will have full game access on PC starting from September 22. For those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, full game access will begin September 27, 4 days ahead of worldwide launch on October 1.

I'll likely not start playing until mid-way through October although considering giving this year a miss depending on gameplay.

The hero cards mostly look mediocre and the new icons don't do much for me as of yet.

If the previous few years are anything to go by, FUT is now entirely about striving for unrealistic overpowered cards. It was there in the early years with the likes of Ibarbo, Esswein, etc but it's becoming more apparent each year. 80% of icons are useless but then you have the likes of Klaiber last year who was the beginning of the fullback at CB meta due to how ridiculous he was. The man is a silver card in 22...

The only two leagues you'll see in champs until TOTS are prem and Ligue 1 due to the Ronaldo/Varane and Messi transfers with Mbappe staying put.

A long-winded way to say I can see 22 getting stale pretty fast.

So did you do EA Play and then ordered the game? Which version?

Also where does it say how long you've played each game, I haven't seen this..
 
I don't care about the new cards, it comes down to the gameplay. The game engine/animations do seem to have had a significant overhaul this year, but it might end up being rubbish (as usual).

We shall see...

Yeah, I was a bit worried at first in case I get the steps wrong but here's what I did.
  1. 2x£40 top ups frm CD Keys then redeem.
  2. Buy 79p EA Play offer
  3. Boot up PS4 and update Fifa 21
  4. Order through Fifa 21
The discount will stack and should come out at £73. Ultimate edition gets you dual entitlement which you can use/install on 27th to get the Ps5 version.
I'm still unsure if the 10hr trial will be Ps4 or Ps5 :p
