Yeah im yet to venture into the murky world of working out how all the factions and that work. I've got 11 points with one of them, then 8 and 6 with the others. The one with 8 points is my apparent best rep faction, then the 6 pointer then 11 points last :confused: Obviously something I dont know about yet :D

Indie which gathering prof do you need for levelling LW? I need to get myself some new armour before I go nuts, sick of getting serious damage of poor(ish) mobs cause my armour sucks.

Im not quite sure what compliments it, i've not picked any up yet other than Carpentry & Leathercrafting, was looking at Botanist for my Carpentry, but Leathercrafting, im not sure... Theres, Mining, Angler, Botanist.. forgot the other one!

I don't think theres an XP penalty.. however, if your not actually using your weapons to kill anything, and the rest of the aprty are, i doubt you'll get XP towards your class, but will continue to gain XP towards your Physical Level.. Maybe? *shrugs*

hehe yep! its a good thing really! makes you actually do stuff.

Thats my main "YES" factor about this game, is the fact it doesnt hold your hand through anything at all, and you have to do everyting via Trial & Error.. bit like real life :)

meh, that made me sound like a bit of a batty man.

Indie you play archer so help me out here!

I cannot hit anything! I'll be fighting mobs much lower than me and come close to death all the time due to constant evade/miss. I probably land 1 in 5 of any type of attack I make. Is there some stat or something which I have not stacked? Or are you having the same problem? :(
 
Similar story with my marauder, seems like 2 out of 3 hits miss or evade. I actually can't be bothered logging into this at the moment, which to say the game has only been live just over a week and i didnt play beta isn't the best.

I've been reading that Strength should be stacked as well for Archers, as thats where all the attack power comes from.

Strength - High damage of attacks across the board
Dexterity - Higher chance of hitting the target // Higher Critical Strike % // Higher Critical Strike Damage.
Vitality - MOAR HEALTH!

(from what i udnerstand)

Im building strength and dexterity up at around the same level, normally prioratising dex. then Vitality is my 3rd stat.

Im the same but didnt really know much about str so was dex vit then str.

DO you have the problem of constant misses or am I probably doing something wrong?

I get my fair share of misses to be fair, but not as many misses as only hitting 1 in 5...

Im not quite sure, try raising your STR a little bit to see if it helps? although doesnt directly effect accuracy, it will make your attacks more potent so when they do hit the mob will know about it.

I think im level 12 Archer, 13 Physical, have around 45-50 Dex, 40 Stre, 30-35 Vit....

all my gear is my starting gear, cept my head, which is a hempen bandana that my hosuemate got from a quest and gave to me.. aaand my bow, which i got for 29,000 gil from The Elven city..
 
Still on starting gear here as well, I'd love to craft my own gear, but either I'm very unlucky with shard drops, or the game just ultimately hates me. I've had no lightning shards yet, and still only 15 wind shards.
 
Just a heads up, i decided to cancel my ff xiv account so i didnt get billed when the 30 days is up, but it now appears i can't log in at all :confused:

Maybe i cancelled the wrong thing, but only option i could see was to cancel the service account. Anyway if you want to keep playing now don't cancel.

Edit: It did let me reactivate it, guess i just have to wait till my sub is nearly up if i want to cancel it.

My copy came today.

Spent the last 2 hours setting up my account and installing, downloading the patch etc... launch the game and getting the following message -

13001 The lobby server connection....
Error Code: 1015
Status: 0


Does this mean the servers are down?
 
you guys enjoying this game, got into beta but had problem with account so packed it in?

never actually played game account setting was so messed up p'd me off to the point never tried it.

Id love to make one, It would spring my interest in the game higher again, Ive logged on twice since Ive got it...

Nice to have something to join to have fun, and not having to go through an application process for a game your not sure on.
