Very happy with my squad at the moment.

Lukaku is an absolute beast in my Crewe game. He scored 44 Premier League goals for Chelsea a couple of seasons back - the combination of strength and pace is something else—far more prolific than Drogba ever was in FM. Even with him edging past 30 I was tempted to make a big bid, but I've got some fantastic strikers already and arguably two too many.

Had a great pre seasons with Rangers.

Scored 2 and conceded ~17 in 5 games.

They had a team for 4-4-2, and I didn't have enough money/interest to sell my players and change formation. Still feel its a strong team, but maybe not as strong as I want.

Wish my team would stop scoring and wish my Chairman would stop pumping cash into it...so far this season, he has pumped £12M, then £4M and now another £10M...I've bought Mats Deahli and Adnan Januzaj though :P Sat 3rd in League 1, VERY high chance of winning it...

That's amazing for League 1. It's been a long time since I played L1 - and even then it was a back-to-back promotion so I wasn't there long. What are your best players like? You have some amazing investment - have you upgraded your backroom and stadium?

Wow! Something that is realistic but I've never seen it before until now. Youth players grow in size as well as stature.

Spanish goalkeeper grown from 5ft 11 to 6ft in one year. Has anyone seen this before or am I going mad?

:D I have never played anything but FM2013, so I am new to the series, but I have put in over 2000 hours. You need to learn from the bottom up. And you need to be patient. This game does not reward impatience.

2000 hours! That's absolutely crazy! Must be good stuff.

FM2014 seems to be released before Christmas, seems like I better get cracking! Anyone know the cheapest place to buy it?

Might I add, I am Mansfield. Straight promotion from BSP to League 2, ran the club into debt, straight promotion in 1 season to League 1, now 1st season in League 1 and I am fighting for 1st place...so, 3rd season, possible 3rd promotion in a row...

I have all 3 training areas being improved, board won't do anything regarding the stadium yet...

yeah in same position with bury regarding the stadium, got them to the premier league after 6 seasons and now I am stuck with a 15000 capacity stadium which means my wage budget (150k) is very low for a premier league club. I sell out every home game yet they won't even upgrade.

So operating a whole club on a budget of what 1 man city player earns (not even their highest wage). Lets just say the average age of my squad is very low!

My team have got into the Championship. Came down to the final day for 1st and 2nd place...pipped it with a win over Notts County, they took the lead, fought back and secured a Championship win...3 back to back league wins...

Ah yes - I did the same thing with Bury. I eventually managed to upgrade their stadium to a 40k all-seater but it took a fair while. Quite a few seasons of winning the premier league AND the Champions League every other, before the board budged. But I became one of the richest clubs in the world, so it is worth the wait.

Urgh, even with £12M to spend again, I can't get a good striker in, need someone to take the pressure of Noel Makombo-Eboma...my only other striker is barely League 1 quality and has failed to score in over 12 hours of football...

Hehe I had that Makombo geezer when I was playing as Ayr - he was a quality striker but my board sold him to a Russian team for over a million squids (which was a LOT). Have you tried to purchase using monthly payments? Means potentially you can buy a really good striker providing they will talk to you.

I've got silly funds to spend, it's just the strikers I'm after don't want to talk to me :(

My Noel guy is worth over £2M now... not bad for a £14K buy :D

and therein lies the problem You could try going to the press and enquiring about them. I would send your scouts to check all the top flight strikers - providing you have decent enough scouts they will tell you if the player is interested in a move or not.

No-ones interested :( Trying to sign youngsters though, MAY have Adam Bogdan coming in...for FREE!

Okay I promised some youth screen captures and here's the best of them. I tend to buy a few special youngsters each season and develop them myself but last season I went a bit overboard and accumulated a few more than usual. I spent rather a lot - about £80 million just on under 18s.. I only buy the best with a couple thrown in for good measure and I spend an eternity scouting.

These guys are the best I can find out of a huge database and every major league. Bear in mind a 2.5 star rating is now considered a 'leading premier player' in my current save so these guys have awesome potential providing they are trained correctly.

First up, some true home growns. These were bought into my youth squad in March. I feel have they have potential to make my first squad but they will need considerable development especially in position.

Peter Lynch is an AM but I am retraining him to become an attacking right winger. As you can see he has already started adopting his new position. That yellow dot wasn't there at the beginning of his career. That dot will soon become green. I think Peter will become a good player but maybe not good enough for my first team.

Next up is Victor Longo. I think this guy will be a quality player. A 6ft 2 poacher with already decent stats and a lot of potential.

My final HG is Paul Webster. Now this guy is something special. An AM being retrained in the CM role I think he will be very good. I like attacking central midfielders. He is 4 star and with some training will be of use in my first team.

Next up are the youth I have collected over time. These guys are mostly under 18 and offer considerable potential.

Clement Hennion - a star of the future and he already is wanted by major clubs which is a pain :D
