Ah right, I see. Got it now. Blackpool I'd signed the three minimum fee release players (Doria, Adryan and Wellington Nem) as well as Ince and Matty Phillips and I was being dominated.

The Notts. Co. route seems just as tricky - most of the decent players have gone and their previous manager was blown the wage budget on some awful players.

B Stortford in the BS Prem?

Ah shame, looks like you made them into an attacking force with a paper thin back line...

Pretty much all teams in FM after a few years end up like that, squads full of odd dross with there being a real lack of amazing AI managers not to break decent squads. Fun challenge trying to fix other people's messes, last year had to unbreak Everton that got Redknapped for about 4 seasons (took 3 seasons to build a decent core and turn that mess around).

B Stortford start in the BS North so if they are in the BS Prem now it could be worth building with.

Didn't they use to ask for names and pictures of people wanting to be in the game to become the regens?

Haha probably! Sounds a hilarious feature, would love to suddenly been the new Shearer by random accident.

Anyone seeing oddities with the loan market? For instance, Arsenal have 30-odd youngster in their reserve team, and not only are they not on the loan list but they have their transfer set as "the club do not with to loan this player out"... I really don't get this.

Aston Villa seem to have half their reserve team loaned out, but none of them are under 21! Seems very strange indeed.

New match engine coming out next week hopefully! I might actually play the game then haha!

It's not going to be a huge overhaul or anything though, just polishing up some of the mistakes. Allowing defenders to actually tackle, less silly mistakes from 'keepers, that sort of thing. It'll be the same level of changes they normally release in a scheduled patch, but I guess the only odd thing is that it'll be an out of sequence one, as they normally release one for release day, one around Christmas and one in mid-February.

I really wish they'd take one year and completely overhaul the match engine, and if needs be just about ignore everything else (other than data updates). We don't need super graphics, but it would be nice to see defenders defend and not just stand around like lemons, and it would be good if you could make a 3-5-2 formation without have to essentially cover up the bugs in the match engine (such as having the 3 centre-backs always being very narrow, and you getting killed on crosses).

It's good that this year, player instructions (roles in the team) play a much bigger part, so magic tactics aren't a be-all-and-end-all solution. AI teams adapt to your changes and you have to adapt to theirs. It would just be nice if the changes you made had the logical impact you'd expect.

It is still a wonder tactic game which is just annoying, I don't think I have ever seen any real football realism in the 3D aspect of the game, no last ditch tackle, no got to make that header moment.

I doubt they will ever take a year out, it will just be an updated database and gimmicks.

Pretty sure this years ME they started from scratch. And they making a lot changes and tweaks to it for this 1st patch.

Could be wrong but I doubt it.

I am still finding it very hard to get into this game. Can't put my finger on why. I loved all the previous ones. I took a break and didn't get last years one. But I am really struggling with this years version.

it's like the classic version hasn't enough detail and the full game has way too much. Or maybe the years break has made me lose interest in the game competely.

I like to sound of the Classic mode, but from what I've read, it has a small database :(. I always play with about 60,000 players loaded.

One of the SI guys posted in the feedback thread yesterday (I think). He said it that so long as testing worked out OK (not that it did for the final release... again) then it would be "within a week".

So I didn't get sacked, and I have been applying for each job possible.

My team has started winning now. I have gotten 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from 4 games. The one win was against the side who were in 1st position.

I got a job offer from Wanderers, a 1st division Uruguayan club. I thought about it but I rejected. Although I will be playing in the highest division, and at a more reputable club, I want to hold out till the end of the season. The club is like 12th from 16 teams, so not too great. Would prefer a 'larger' team so to speak. So I will leave Defensa y Justicia at the end of the season, and see what I get.

16th in the league now :D

I have decided my long term game will being being unemployed :)

No idea where it will take me, English and can't decide on my second nationality, maybe Italian, Spanish or Brasilian.

Finally got sacked :D

After doing pretty well, I got 6 consecutive losses (one of them in the cup. It ended 3-3 and I lost on pens) and one loss (3-3 from 3-1 up in the 80th minute ). A 5-2 loss (I was 1-0 up) put the last nail in the coffin.

I didn't help myself, as I applied for each possible job.

Pretty pleased I got the sack though. Was considering leaving just the same before I got sacked.

Anyone got any tips on contracts? players i keep going for and ones included in my team demanding contracts want the match highest paid player option and wont budge even if i offer 3mil signing fee. Major bug for me is my guess. cant sign anyone because of it.

I have been struggling with contracts as well.

Playing as Rangers and mid way through first season so lots of contracts expiring in six months time.

An Example

Kevin Kyle wants £1200 a week but board will only allow £800. So I up his signing/loyalty fee from £4,500 to £60,000 but he wont sign ! Even upped agents fee from £2,000 to £25,000 and agent still went in a huff and stopped all talks.

Surely the big lump of cash at the start should make up for wages shortfall
