***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

50 minutes into a match... Siem De Jong scores and the ball gets stuck in the net... the game fast forwards to the end of the match with no other activity what so ever.

:D :D :D

I'm pretty sure the other day when I was playing a CPU goalkeeper made a save, then walked into his net with the ball in hand! Also, for some reason every time I close FM it comes up with a Windows error message telling me that FM has encountered an error.

Lol awwwww... :p

So shouting WHO ARE YA! at my computer with a beer in hand is apparently not a legitimate thing to do on a thursday evening...

But for the first game of the season away at villa in the league cup I jumped out of my chair in excitement for the first time in ages on FM... :D 4-0 up at one stage and couldn't believe what I was seeing, villa aren't that good in real life and seem even worse on fm...

Great result but Villa have really good potential on FM if you must know. Benteke is a beast and ive seen someone get 45 Goals off of Bent in FM 12 in one season.

Oh yeah Benteke is better on FM than he is in real life (Hesky mark 2 from what I have seen), but they get forced into selling any one good quite quickly then got relegated badly so they were only a champ team (though the best one).

Best Charlton in the 3rd round :D

Decided it was best to stop playing for a bit after that (too much shouting GET IN at the computer).

For crying out loud, I've just come across the most frustrating bug in the game. I managed to get Brentford into the EPL (2018/2019) season and the club has been taken over. The new Chairman gives me £17.25m in transfer budget... but for some reason it doesn't get recognised so I have £98,000 transfer budget to try to keep the team in the league (oh... and no available wage resources).

Iv'e have been struggling after a great debut season with Liverpool. I bought poorly, brought in Santon and Brend Leno while not really replacing Sahin, Real Madrid wanted £25mill

OK. First season in the Prem finished. Guess where I came with Crewe...

Put it this way, I'm not happy with where we came...

Reinstalling FM12 to play for a bit. 6 own goals in 4 matches has pushed me over the edge. I read that there is an update coming at the end of the month so I'll check that out but for now I'm done.

Haha that's what i have done until the patch comes out.

Started a game with Portsmouth, first few weeks were tough! Got in a load of loans to actually get a good team together, and already lost a few of the players who were in on short term deals.

My wage budget was £30k, and I was spending £35k/week, got in about 8 loans with no wages - most of whom are my best players basically.

Managed to get a takeover, but they're not investing any money, but it came in at a great time where I could actually offer contracts to my better players so they actually stay with me until 2013! Managed to get them all to basically drop wages in the process so my wages are at a ridiculous 16-17k/week. Hopefully in January I get some sort of budget and can bring in some actual quality.

Signings;

Joao Carlos (Liverpool) - End of season loan
Reece Wabara (Man City) - End of season loan
Patrick Bamford (Chelsea) - 6 Month loan
Radek Cerny (QPR) - End of season loan
Michael Tonge (Stoke) - End of season loan
Mamady Sidibe (Stoke) - 3 Month loan

Sidibe has been fantastic, 6 goals in 9 games atm - gonna try get him again in January when his loan expires.

I'll be pretty screwed when he goes back from his loan as Bamford isn't the best, although hes scored 4 goals I think.

I've played 14 games in the league (3 games in hand) and sitting 8th with 5 wins, 8 draws and 1 loss.

Managed a few shocks in the cups too, beating Norwich in the League Cup, following on with beating Burnley, then in the 4th round managed to nick the win off Spurs in penalties!

I better get some money soon..

Ha Azza thats quite funny, today i just reinstalled 2012 because 2013 is just so poor (match wise) i thought i had taken a screenshot but doesnt appear steam saved it for me... anyway i beat juve 3-0 away! then lost to stuttgart 7-0, hsv 3-0 gladbach 6-1 i thought it was my tactics but considering i was unbeaten until this run i dismissed it and i replayed all 4 games using the same tactics and shouts. lost to juve 4-0, 0-0 against stutt, 5-3 win again hsv and 1-0 win against glad.

I didnt change a thing in each of those games so i really do not grasp why i took such a good kicking the first time around, players couldnt put a pass together and id always concede from crosses with my defenders facing goal, back to fm12 for me.

My first 'season' in Turkey is finished. Here are some pictures:

Cup Final!!!!:

I am very pleased with my season.

The team's highest position before i joined was 9th, so finishing 7th in the league is great. There were a few games where I should have really won (ex. against the team in 17th position, was 2-0 down, managed to turn it around to 3-2 up with 10 minutes left, and I conceded 2!!). I really wanted to finish top 6 to secure an Europa league spot, but losing stupid games like the one mentioned above meant that I finished just outside that. The league was always so close. Losing a game could have taken you down 3/4 places. Still satisfied though. Board wanted a mid-table finish.

I just managed to qualify from the Cup group stage. I just beat Fenerbache, and Besiktas lost, meaning I could qualify. Semi-final was close. Drew the first leg, and in the second leg I was on fire! I hit like 4 posts, and their keeper made miracles. Thought there was away goals, so I put everyone overload, but thankfully, there wasn't. Always was in control in the shootout. I was expecting to lose the final, because as you can see fromthe league table, Galatasaray are just too good. I managed to keep them at arm's length for the whole game, and just before the end, Volkas Sen managed to put one in! First cup of my reign as a manager!!! And I have qualified for the EL too :)

Whats next?

Well, now that I have qualified for the EL, I want to give it a chance. If I do very badly, I will just leave next season, and start winning Continental competitions. I have already finalized a few transfers for next season. Its very tricky to to sign players in Turkey because you can only have 4 foreign people in the first team, 1 more as a sub, and 8 max registered.

I wanted a Turkish goalkeeper, so I won't use 1 of my 4 foreigners always. He is a step up from my keeper, so its all good. Wage is around 15k/w but he seems worth it!

This guy was on loan this season, and he played ok. At 600k I couldn't say no. You don't find many Turkish players with his skill level and price.

AML:
LennyNangis_OverviewAttributes_zps52f6090c.png
I was psyched at signing Lenny. He is a class player. He is foreign, but I will be offloading another foreigner in the same position, so they pretty much cancel each other out. Lenny is going to have a huge wage, something close to 16k/w, with a release clause of 9.5M, and a few added bonuses. Really hope he performs. he was great for me on FM12.

Manu looks like he can be a great player for me. He can play in front and on both wings, which is a great bonus, as I use all those positions. He will have (once again) a huge wage, and he will also replace a foreigner, so not much loss there.

Really sorry, but I need to post in here again. As soon as I did the post above, (LITERALLY) the Galatasaray manager retired. Needless to say, I applied, and guess what...

As always...

WHAT DO I DO?!

Go to Galatasaray

Pros:
- A LOT of money
- Reputation
- Chance to win trophies (pretty much a guarantee)
- Participate in CL
- A top team already.

Cons:
- I miss the players I bought already :'(
- Loyalty! If I got this far with Kayserispor (sp) then might as well stay there.
- If I'm leaving, then I might aswell go to Africa/America and start winning
- .1M over wage budget

And the pros/cons of staying where I am are the opposite of the above.

What should I do. Very confused here :P

That is rather annoying.

That and hitting the post, " you hit the post an incredible 6 times that match"

Have you come against the match you will NOT win yet?

I don't play this seriously, I don't go picking a conference south side and and try and then them into European champions or whatever.

What I have found is then are 2, maybe three matches a season that it doesn't matter how good your side is, how good a run you are on, how poor the team you are playing you will NOT be able to win that fixture.
It was Arsenal and Newcastle away last season, its City and Spurs away on my current session, I'm coming into the spurs match on the back of 12 or so consecutive wins, all my strikers are in form, my AMCs and wingers are setting up the goals, my defenders are at the top of their game........

I go to white heart lane and it doesn't matter who I pick, know I play, how many I score, I cannot come out of the game with anything more than a draw.

That's insane! What's the current squad looking like? Do you like the look of them over your own team?

Their team is amazing already.

GalatasaraySK_SquadPlayers_zps12038740.png

Tbf, it doesn't look all that good on paper. Fenerbache's team looks stornger, but they have won the league for 5 (or 4) consecutive years, so it must be good. The wage thing is not a problem. There are many players with high contracts who are leaving (end of contract) and they will free up some 150k/w.

Now I need you guys to make a choice for me! :D

They have NORDIN!!!! Do it! :p

Nordin Ambrant has been one of those brilliant FM buys from fm10 for me, every year I have found him and loved it (though he's not quite as good in recent years). John Hetinga is a great option too, despite him annoying me one two many times at Everton and being replaced...
